Can I rent a flatbed truck?
Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what vans or trucks you can rent. If you'd like confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about renting a Load 'N Go flatbed truck, cargo van, or pickup truck. Penske moving truck rentals and moving vans have different rules. You may also visit our truck rental page to see if the vehicle you need is at your store.
Can I rent a truck for a few hours?
Rent a pickup truck, van, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Be sure to factor in the drive between the store and the job site, as you must bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the terms and conditions before selecting a truck.
Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Match the amount of gas that was in the tank when you received the rental. When you don't refill the vehicle, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
