How does truck rental work?
Stop by the College Park Rental Center to see which vans or trucks you can rent. If you'd like confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about renting a Load 'N Go flatbed truck, cargo van, or pickup truck. Penske moving van rentals and moving trucks have different rules. You can also visit our truck rental page to see if the vehicle you need is offered at your store.
Can I rent a truck for a few hours?
Rent a truck or moving van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Remember to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the terms and conditions before you select a truck.
Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Note the original fuel level when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that level. When you don't refill the vehicle, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
