Can I rent a van?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what's available. If you'd like confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about renting a Load 'N Go pickup truck, cargo van, or flatbed truck. Penske moving truck rentals and moving vans have different rules. You may also check out our truck rental page to see if what you need is at your store.
Can I rent a truck for a few hours?
Rent a pickup truck, van, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on how long your project is. Don't forget to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the documentation before choosing a vehicle.
Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you bring it back. Match the level of gas that was in the tank when you received the rental. If you don't, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
