Jumpin' Jack its a gas, gas dryer! And a nice one too.
I am converting to this machine from an older Whirlpool dryer which saw MANY years of faithful service during which we tossed in the washed load and sort of stood there and watched to be sure the individual items were pulled out at times appropriate to save them from destruction. This one has so many automatic features I’m inclined to believe it could also do the babysitting and walk the dog. Seriously though, you still have to separate the load into appropriate bunches like delicates and denims

but features like damp dry, - dryness level,- wrinkle shield, - static reduction, - steam (which adds steam to the end of the heavy duty cycle to reduce odors and smooth the wrinkles out of towels and similar items – no dryer sheet added), - signal tones for cycles (which may be turned on or off), and - control lock (which disallows little toddler fingers from changing your settings – we found very quickly that we needed this) all make the end result a clean and dry load with very little to do in terms of ironing.
Another feature which is compelling is the EcoBoost option which extends the drying time approximately 40 minutes but results in a considerable savings in energy. With normal settings things dry much more quickly. This machine also has a drum light which you can turn on at any time or comes on automatically when the door is opened. This helps keep track of everything tumbling and also helps that always lost one sock I constantly miss.
One of my favorite features on this machine is the ease with which the lint filter is accessed and cleaned. I always make it a point to keep track of cleaning the lint filter after each load and constantly monitor the lint exhaust to be sure it is clear. This is the main cause of fires started by dryers. Fortunately, there is also a built in lint filter-check/vent monitor on this model which will alert if lint becomes an issue or airflow is blocked for some reason. What a relief.
Finally, included with this model is a rack which, when inserted into the middle of the dryer drum, holds items you don’t want to tumble dry like sweaters or tennis shoes – no more “charge of the light brigade” when you dry those old sneakers.
All in all this dryer is an excellent choice for a dependable and comfortable wash day experience. The only thing I would advise concerning this model is the addition of a pedestal underneath to raise the dryer to a comfortable use height. Ours were installed at floor level and it is my intent to add these pedestals to the washer and dryer at my earliest opportunity. (Coincidentally, this will keep little fingers from messing with the settings). Happy drying.
