This new lightweight gypsum panel is significantly lighter than regular sheetrock, but it also seems more brittle
I like this product. It is a lot easier to carry and maneuver on the job site. It seems to be just as stiff/strong as regular sheetrock. One thing I did notice is that when cutting off relatively narrow strips (e.g., 3 inches or so), the strips have a tendency to break more than regular sheetrock does.

    This is a great product
It is much lighter but it manages to retain all of the strength of a normal weight sheet. I will definitely by it again for my next project.

    Great product
Great product, very easy to handle, maintains it strength on ceilings. Very easy to score and cut. Will continue to use this product.

Exactly what I expected it to be
The only reason this review did not get 5 stars is because I reserve 5 stars for exceptional products. The gypsum board was exactly as I expected it to be and at a good price

    Great lightweight product!
Ive used this product on multiple projects ever since it was introduced. Its great because it is lightweight which makes it easy to work with!

This is a great product being much lighter.
Used this product on several projects and works great. The lighter weight allows for faster installation and in most cases can be installed by one worker. Works similar to standard drywall except lighter.

    Excellent
The panels are of great quality and easy to assemble. I put up a 12 foot section in under 2 hours. Most of that time was confirming the upper and lower boards were correctly placed to provide a level wall. They provide an excellent vapor block and I see no way for moisture to penetrate, even where two panels connect. I did purchase some panels with electrical boxes and I was equally pleased with the panel quality. I did all the work myself without any need for a second person. I recommend using ... read more a jigsaw to do the initial cut of the wall and then follow through with a handsaw to finish cutting the foam insulation. Some panels have some smudges as a result of shipping but no physical damage. All marks disappear with primer. The pallet was dropped off on my driveway. If you aren't up for the physical challenged, you may want to have help moving the panels to their staging location. The hardware is expensive as 5 inch screws are not a commodity. They are available at home depot. I used: For the Top: SPAX 1/4 in. x 5 in. Powerlag T-Star Drive Washer Head Yellow Zinc Coated Lag Screw For the bottom: SPAX #8 x 2-1/2 in. T-Star Drive Flat-Head Partial Thread Yellow Zinc Coated Multi-Material Screw (133 per Box)

    Easy to Install
I went with the DRIcore Smartwall to refinish my basement. It was between Smartwall and Wahoo Walls. I liked that the Wahoo Walls used MgO instead of drywall, but I went with the Smartwall for one reason - the size - 2 foot wide panels can fit down into my basement and 4 foot wide Wahoo panels would not fit without cutting. Installation was fairly easy. I installed 50 linear feet of walls in 2.5 days time! Cutting the walls was easy with a hand saw. The instructions say 2 people are required, ... read more but I did it by myself. It would have been quicker / easier with someone else to help, but is can be done by one person with moderate skill level. I gave the quality a good rating because some of the panels had some very dark black smudges from shipping. The panels come primed, but I will prime the walls because of this.

    easy to use...just like drywall
Easy to work with, treat it like drywall...my only complaint is the fiberglass dust makes you itchy

    Denshield
This is a rigid tile backer that cuts and installs like regular drywall. When installed right it is virtually waterproof. Once tile is adhered it will not come off.

    Dens shield Tile Backer
The product is exactly as advertised. Cuts and installs like Drywall, but is waterproof. Only need to seal the seams and screw holes with something like Laticrete Hydro Barrier and microfiber fiberglass tape(not drywall tape). I learned a lot by watching Tilemasterga's YouTube videos.

    Better then green board
Great stuff. Used in basement. Green guarded for schools. Scores and snaps great. No fiberglass.

Great product! Performs just how it is supposed to!
I have 20 plus years Remodeling. This product out performs other brands that claim they are mold/moisture resistant by far! Always look for the Purple paper for M.R. needs. I purchase all of my Drywall at Home Depot.

    It's fine
I am using this product for my bathroom as specified in the manufacturers specs. No problem. The specs say it can be used in areas above the shower or tub. It's not intended for areas getting direct water contact, true. In my personal opinion green board was never a good solution for this either. Though, it was allowed. When I was building, I tore out many rotted green board tub stalls. I think this was usually because the tile mastic was not uniformly applied. Just do a search on Goldbond XP ... read more drywall and you should be able to find the manufacturers site and specs. That said, local building authorities will differ on their interpretations. The first few sheets I got had some issues with the paper. It tended to peel more easily than I thought it should. The next few sheets were totally fine.

    backing for shower stall
This was purchased because we also bought the corner shower stall and it needed to be glued to wallboards. The drywall was screwed to the studs in the corner location and the shower stall walls were attached to it with liquid nails. Drywall is very heavy compared to other wallboards. Not much else to say.

Used it for a bathroom ceiling and where the drywall met 7/16" cement backer board
Used this for a bathroom remodel for the ceiling and the bathroom walls where the drywall meets the backer board at the bathtub/shower area. I found the 1/2" still required a couple of people to hang on the ceiling (seemed to be heavier than regular 8x4 1/2" drywall too) and like other reviewers have observed, it is less durable/more brittle. For the extra price, it shouldn't be as fragile. I had missed a small cut off nail that was probably sticking out of the ceiling truss by about 1/8"-3/16" ... read more and this was enough to create a 2" or so blister bulge on the drywall when I screwed it into the ceiling, so I had some extra topping and feathering to do to hide the blister. I had no problems cutting it with a craft knife or an oscillating saw for the electrical outlets and light fittings. The other issue I found with this is that the taping and topping compounds tend to be white or cream while this board is a light shade of green, so you will need to use a drywall primer on it to get everything back to a single consistent color before you put the top coat of paint on the walls if you plan a smooth painted drywall finish.
