Very good and healthier product
This insulation besides excellent thermal-insulating properties also offers sound insulation and - is formaldehyde free. Formaldehyde is commonly used in insulation as a binder for glass fiber; under high temperature and humidity this binder releases formaldehyde gas. products in our homes (furniture, carpeting, clothing …) My philosophy is: the more we avoid chemicals like this, the better for human health and environment. This Kraft insulation not only is formaldehyde free, but also does not have pink coloring added to glass fiber. Pink dye in other insulation products adds next to formaldehyde gases also its own out-gassing characteristics.
We used this insulation for upper layer of ceiling kitchen insulation, thus there is no need for paper backing. Paper backed insulation R-19 will be used as a bottom insulation layer to meet the code. The insulation is easy to fluff up (for optimal insulating property) or split it length wise for layering where necessary. Insulation is easy to cut to size. Working with this insulation is excellent.
Due to its properties it can be used for green buildings.
