    Basement insulation
Bought on sale did install with friends. I can tell our home on main level is warmer heat doesn't run as much. Great investment we'll pay ourselves back with gas saving to heat our ranch home.

    Great purchase
The insulation is just what I needed to complete the basement insulation in my newly renovated house. Home Depot always seems to have just what I need to complete my DIY projects.

    Does the job
We are remodeling an attic space into a craft/cat room. Space is very cold in winter and really hot in summer. I could feel the room warming up as I was putting in the insulation. 50 degrees outside. My only gripe is that HD shows a bonus roll that adds an extra 7' to each roll. HD CS says that they have these in stock but when I pick them up they are they std 32' rolls. Talked the CS agent into a 10% discount; but that still didn't make up for the extra rolls I had to buy for this project. Look ... read more for the RF12 on the roll. These are the bonus rolls.

Just what I needed for a small job!
I replaced a bathroom exhaust fan in my bathroom and needed only a small amount of insulation to fit around the new fan box. Of course, I was working overhead and didn't want to work with a material that would fall back into my face and irritate my skin. This was just exactly what I needed, it was easy to cut to size and actually shred for small spots where I just needed to "stuff" a little in. With the remaining insulation, I checked all the outlets and light switches in my house for drafts, ... read more then used small pieces to wrap the outlet box before caulking and putting in the outlet insulators (also sold at Home Depot). No more drafts.... Love it!!!

    Cold air gone
    1. Stood on ladder to change bulb in random location. 2. Felt cold air pouring in from outside. 3. Bought small roll of insulation from Home Depot. 4. Shoved insulation in around pipe. 5. Cold air gone.

Specifications show incorrect square footage coverage area
This product is fine, easy to handle & install - BUT - note that the specifications given on-line state 213.2 square feet of coverage per bag (one piece), actual coverage as shown on the packaging is 5.6 square feet. The 213.2 seems more reasonable for the forty bag case, not the single bag. My friend purchased these for me to put in for her, and she relied on the on-line specs and only bought 5 bags for her 1,000 SF house - HA! She though she was getting away with only spending $25! I sent her ... read more back to get the unfaced R-30 rolls. These small low R pieces are good for small project work only.

    Exactly what I needed.
The faced batts were easy to hang, cut, and otherwise handle.

    Easy to install
Plastic bags contain 10 8 foot 23 inch wide batts folded in half and compressed. They are easy to move around, and install while they are folded, then they puff up when opened up. They have a full length tab along the long sides to enable stapling to 24 inch on center studs. Best convenience is that new fiberglas batts do not itch if you get it on your skin. World of difference from the old days when you had to practically wear a haz-mat suit to keep from scratching for the rest of the day. ... read more Installed it in a hidden attic over some hit-or-missand noticed an immediate difference

    Good quality Insulation
The reviewer above clearly didn't carefully read the same specs contained here - the vapor barrier is clearly stated as Kraft-faced; and the specs give the individual piece size as well as the total sq ft coverage down to 3 decimal points! It's still just fiberglass insulation after all, not tough to figure out!

Convenient packaging, perfect for the DIY homeowner
A feel good insulation project just in time for winter. The compressed packaging allowed me to transport two bundles in an open trunk. 90 minutes later, 200 sq ft, 23" x 6" insulation installed. Better yet, the product has a large percentage of recycled feedstock. Cannot get better than pink!!

    Home Insulation Project
My home was built in 1979 with approximately 8" of blown-in insulation (Virginia Climate). Put Owens Corning R-38 on top of existing insulation and it keeps the upper floor cool and quiet. This is an excellent product and has the facing for moisture control. Easy to install and very effective. Would recommend this product to anyone with an older home or to supplement existing insulation. Additionally, this product is well worth the cost because of it's heat resistance and area coverage.

    Went down well
My husband and son put this down in half of our attic. They wore masks, gloves, long sleeves, and their eyeglasses. We had bat exclusion done and the old R19 insulation was pulled up and disposed of. They had to get this down before cold weather. My husband liked these batts much better than those that were excluded! Seriously, he preferred the batts to the rolls. They went down easily and now we're up to R38. We bought enough to do the rest of the attic next year. I could feel a difference ... read more right away in the temperature of the two rooms and hallway where this insulation was laid above.

    So far so good
A HD sales person came to my house conducting a Window Replacement project measurement suggested me to apply additional insulation to my attic, so I did the research. I purchased almost a dozen of this R38 insulation and applied them myself to the attic. I can feel a big difference even when I only finished half of the attic that my entire 2nd floor cools down a lot even during weather with strong sunshine. Very happy with it, will see how much cost on heating bill I could save during winter time

I bought 1000 sq feet of insulation
I bought 1000 sq feet of insulation and am still in the process of installing it myself. It's relatively easy to install but it IS fiberglass insulation so it's incredibly itchy if you get it on your skin. I'd advise any DIY homeowners to fully cover their arms, legs, hands and wear a face mask and eye wear. Other than that, it is GREAT, and I've noticed a lowering in the powerbill in my 1930s home (even as it gets colder outside). Good luck!

    Ready for winter
I bought R-30 insulation for my attic after determining I had less than an equivalent of R12 up there. I checked the price of a competitor and found that I could double my insulation from Home Depot for less than half the cost of what the other company wanted, even after renting a truck from Home Depot to transport the 80 rolls. Handling the rolls was easy as it did not make me itch as other products would have. I did have an occasional roll that only fluffed out to about 6 inches but I used ... read more those in spaces where the fit was tight anyway.

    Lessons learned on installation
Installed ten rolls in three hours. Easy to do. Just need long sleeves, knee pads, glasses, knife, two boards to cut it, and six foot pole to put insulation in position. Two tips. 1) I must have bumped my head a 100 times on the rafters. Wear a bicycle helmet to protect your noggin. 2) Use a strap to hold your glasses on. Gets a tad sweaty and they start to fall off while your hands a full. Tried it without glasses, but the dust started getting in my eyes. Regular safety glasses worked just ... read more fine. If you find some that are wrap around goggle type, they would do a tad better. I will compare electric bills before and after and post the results later this summer.
