Ten Years, No Leaks, and They Look Like New!
Ten years ago, Timberline's Weathered Wood 30 year shingles were installed on the steep, rather large roof of my historic Victorian home. They look as good as new and have not leaked. I have received many compliments on that roof. In fact, a couple of years ago a neighbor installed exactly the same shingles because she liked them so much.

neighboring buildings that high to break the frequent strong wind that comes at us from the south and from the west, depending on which of our two intersecting streets the winds travels up.
This is our normal wind load, but sometimes we get a Nor'easter that ramps up the wind. In a recent blizzard, the speed went up to 60 miles per hour and peeled some of the siding off of my neighbor's house. Absolutely none of my shingles flew off or leaked!!! I'd say that was pretty good.
I am now purchasing more of these shingles to do the roof of the 2000 sq foot wrap around porch.
Great price, nice look
These shingles are easy to work with and look great. Home Depot also offers them at a price that beats many competitive shingles. The look is outstanding and they matched my existing, 18 year old roof almost perfectly. The other nice thing is that the tar backing set in a single summer day and the whole roof just flattened out and laid down in under 24 hours. Great buy and highly recommended.
It looks very good
Time will tell. In my investigation of roofing options, I became convinced that the installation is more critical than the shingles. I believe Garrick did a superb job on the installation.

Best, Great price and easy to work with !!
Found these online and decided to visit homedepot to see the quality. price was $28,50 but with purchase of 35 or more we got them at $22,50, Great price for these kind of shingles, you can also save a lot of time on roofing because if you go out of line, it wont show like on the cheap ones, and they look great :)
GAF in stock shingles are ugly
Today I found out that Home Depot sells much more than GAF shingles in store/online at the PRO desk. They have Owens Corning, Malarkey, Tamko etc. GAF in stock shingles are terrible looking but their special order shingles look much better. HD prices were better than our local "wholesaler" for Owens Corning shingles and I get them delivered right to my roof!
Spend the extra couple bucks
Our project called for three tab shingles, but after looking at the reviews and the product itself, for the small price difference, these were far superior. Because of the material thickness difference, they weren't fun to cut by hand, but again, worth it. The natural variation of the product makes it forgiving to work with for someone who hadn't ever done a roof before.
