A quick home upgrade with visual appeal and other benifits
I could have installed this in half the time if I had help, but even by myself it was not a difficulty. My issues also included that my sliding glass door has a transom window above it and sculpted wood trim that could not be easily altered around the entire door frame. While the blinds come with 3 mounting arms, I only used 2 and put them at each end on the door trim. Even at a slight angle, it is hidden by the valence and has enough offset adjustment from the door for clearance. I then had to

cut down each of the slats to the proper height. I ended up doing this twice as a floor air vent was just a bit higher than I expected and caught the slats when sliding them to the side. I used a paper cutter to get clean straight cuts on all the slats with no issues. It cut like butter. A spare slat is included behind the valence. Be careful with the slats and valence, they will easily take a mark from being moved around on the floor or from anything else that rubs against them. I cleaned them up with a pencil eraser and an alcohol pad. As an added bonus, it's summertime and the blinds really helped keep it cooler in the room. Two negatives to add, the box arrived open and all the slats had a bit of a curl in one corner with the first one being broken off. Well, since one probably caused the other, just one negative.
