Great idea for those with a glass slider door.
Had to adapt installation to fit the glass slider door I have. The slider was much wider than the dog pane but once in the dog can go in and out at will very nice! Sure beats opening and closing the silder when the dog wanted out!

    Works Great!
Great product! Wish I would have bought one sooner. Works great for my 70 pound husky, now he can go and come as he pleases. We are in a rental so we did not do the complete install just put a stick behind the sliding door so you can't open it. We did need to buy additional weather stripping as it was a little breezy where the piece fits into the door.

    WHAT A RELIEF
I used the doggie door on a sliding glass door (w/two doors - glass door and screen door) from our sunroom to an outside yard. As some other reviewers stated, I put the doggie door panel in the outer track, where the screen door slides. Inasmuch as the inner glass door still locks securely, I'll probably just leave the doggie door panel in the screen door track, without screwing it into place. As other reviewers noted, the weatherstripping with the doggie door panel is too flimsy, so I ... read more replaced it with a heavy duty one. It only took our medium-size dog a couple of attempts to figure out the system, and now she comes and goes freely. What a relief for her and us. P.S. The large panel is just the right size for our 30 lb. dog. I think medium was recommended, but it would have been too small.

    good quality, good looking
We tried a few different options before we ordered this door. This door is by far the best looking and highest quality we found. It is a single piece rather than two pieces that had to be connected. The finish (white) is nice and the feel is solid. With some guidance from the manufacturer we cut the top down to better fit our space. This was easy and made a better fit. We used more foam insulation than was provided to seal around our door but this was a personal preference. I like the locking/ ... read more directional cat door much better than the dog flaps. It closes completely and locks with a simple twist of the lever.

    Cat loves it
Super easy to install. Just pop it into the track. I didn't bother adding weather stripping because I live in a mild climate and usually leave windows open a little bit for air, anyway. My elderly cat picked up on the procedure right away. She loves her new freedom.

    Does the trick
I was disappointed that this door was too tall for a standard Andersen slider, so be sure to measure carefully. The good news is that the top part that adjusts the height can be easily removed (just 2 screws at the top of the unit). This will shorten the unit by about an inch, and the two pegs that push the height adjuster up will still hold the door in place. The weather stripping is inadequate for truly cold weather so we used that blocky air conditioning foam to keep the cold out until winter ... read more sets in and we have to really weatherproof the house. Meanwhile, the cats love being able to go in and out to the screen porch at will.

    Not for huskier dogs
I purchased this door because of the of the double door flaps. However, my 85lb lab is as wide as the door & struggles to squeeze through the door. I also have a 14.5 year old lab that struggled to cross the wide threshold. Just some things to think about if you are trying to decide which door to purchase. We are going to return for a single flap & wider model. Very easy to install (once the hole is cut in the door).

Much better than the single-flap style door
Bought this to replace the "classic" single flap door we previously installed. Would be nice if it used the same door opening, this one was slightly narrower and taller. The double flap provides FAR better weather tightness, the old single flap leaked like a sieve. This door will pay for itself in heating/cooling savings. A short adjustment period for the dogs, it is a little harder for them to get through, but no issues now. I would prefer a metal frame, but the plastic is ok.

    GOOD FOR THE PRICE
Home depot has about the lowest price going for this door. I have 2 of these. Considering they're used many many times each day by 2 dobermans and a amstaff I would say they've held up fairly well. In my situation the flaps have about a 6 month life span before the metal strip at the bottom is bent beyond repair and the magnetic strips probably last about 2 years. I would give it maybe 5 out of 10 for weather protection since the flaps don't seal all that well after the're broken in. This is a ... read more replacement for a 6 year old door that is no longer cost effective to rebuild. Overall good value for the price.

Great door, high quality and looks pro.
Pro: High quality metal and glass frame makes this door look professional. Simon (14-16lb kitty) has no problem going in and out at kitty will. It literally took me more time to unpack & walk it downstairs then to install it. Con: Cant think of anything.

    must have for doggies
I installed this door in about a hour and it was pretty easy. but in my opinion there is some extra must haves. I replaced the self adhesive rubber for the sliding door with a metal in-forced door trim that can be screwed on. if not the seal that comes with it will fall off. you can pick this up from home depot at the same time you pick up your doggy door. also buy the separate sliding door lock bar.

Best thing for my kitties since peanut butter
I am over 70 and it was Easy to install, directions for door lock not really understandable. How can you install with out the pet door in place. Still haven't got it but otherwise completely satisfied. Love the locking mechanism at the top and can still see out to watch my pets enjoy the out of doors And extremely light weight but seems to be really durable.

    Works as intended!
Easy to install, looks nice, and is perfect for my dog - HOWEVER - it did not come with all the screws necessary to install it so we had to go to HD and buy special screws that would fit.

We absolutely love this pet door.
We installed this pet door in our new home after we had fences put in around the yard. I didn't know if we would be able to find a door that works in our panel door but it fits and looks great. We are in the Pacific Northwest and the door goes to the back yard. The double flaps are very good at keeping the warmth in and the cold out. Our two dogs, 60 and 80 lbs, and one of the cats, about 14 lbs. use this door several times a day and it appears to be holding up extremely well. I would recommend ... read more this door to anyone.

    Great product! Looks good too!
I have had several dog doors over the years. But in this house, the door I needed to install it in is very readily visible, and I really wanted it to look better than "that'll do." As most houses, it's a six-panel door, and I have tried before to install the dog door there with unattractive but serviceable results. Although this door cost a little more, the results were so much better and it was easier to install! I've had it in place for a month now and it works great. I'll never worry about ... read more it, if I move and have to do another door! My daughter and I installed it in a couple of hours, but we do have a little experience; your first one might take you longer.

    good product
My dog loves it. Only issue was it didn't come with the double sided tape it showed on the install video on the manufacturers web site.

Very easy to install on screen guard and screen door. Dog loves it. We love it.

    Great product
Works great. Very easy to install. Bought the bigger size in case dog had friends over.

    Works as advertised
My sliding door is 30 yrs old and is thicker and slightly taller than the pet door panel but modifications were easy to make. The H section spacer at the top of the pet panel is hollow, which I filled with a piece of foam paneling. The pet door flap itself fit quite well, but a narrow strip of masking tape on the side edge of each Lexan panel closed a small gap. My two miniature dachshunds and a cat quickly learned to use the door. A one foot piece of 2 x 10 wood plank made a good platform for ... read more their short legs to navigate the door, both inside and out.

    Nice product but...
It takes time to install this door but not difficult. Nice looking and made well. However, my dogs weigh 10 pounds and cannot push the flap open. This is because the flap is thick for weather purposes which is a good thing for winter but not for my dogs. I am replacing it with the electronic opener. I contacted customer service and they were wonderful.

very nice door panel in looks & construction. Not as easy to install as it leads you to believe. It was a challenge @ times for my husband who has many years in construction.
