Great door for Lanai in Florida
Great product, just don't understand why they didn't make it to fit a 2"x2" piece of aluminum for porch or lanai? The product only extends to fit a door 1" and 3/4". I could only attach the front side of the door to the 2" piece of aluminum, it did work out ok though.

    Nice & EZ Cat Door
This product was easy to install, and a good value. It was, however, missing the attachment screws. Only one obscure mention on which side of the door the flap belongs on.

Keeps cats in - raccoons out!
I had a problem with raccoons coming into my garage and house through the cat door and eating up all the cats' food; also with my cats relieving themselves indoors. I tried a door with a lockable flap, but the raccoons broke through it. This door has a panel that can be slid into place on the inside to prevent any unwanted visitors. I have one in an exterior garage door and one in the door between the garage and the house so the cats always have access to food, water and litter box, but I can ... read more keep them out of the house when I'm not home during the day and can keep unwanted visitors out of the garage at night. Not available at my local store, so I found it online and installed it in half an hour. Slightly more expensive than I'd hoped - but isn't everything these days?

Great product, fair price compared to similar items. Simple install.
We did have to remove the pet 'flap' to allow us to move a plastic panel up above the flap. Our dog is short legged and he couldn't clear the opening unless we moved one of the 2 plastic panels above the flap. Once that was done (a simple job requiring only a screwdriver), the door worked perfectly!

THIS product "Let the Dog's Out"!
After years of having to get up to let the dogs out to the back yard, I finally broke down to get this for our back patio. I will have to say I am MORE then pleased with the decision! Took about 2 days for the dogs to understand we don't have to let them out anymore and they can go when they feel like it. Only problem I see is with the lab. When it starts to rain and we're not paying attention to it, he will go outside and frolic in the rain and come back inside SOAKED! All in all a great ... read more product and glad I bought it!

    Great Value...
The least expensive doggie door for it's size I could find. Basic but sturdy. I like the thick flap too. Took a bit of added fastening to make it adapt to my older sliding glass door.

Love the double flap, really keeps the weather out.
Had a couple little issues with the install, but once I figured what I was doing wrong it went right in. My cocker spaniel didn't like the double flap at first so I taped the inside flap up out of the way until she got used to the idea of going in and out the doggie door, then I put the inside flap down and she didn't mind it at all. It is a great product although a little expensive. But, I guess you get what you pay for so it is worth a little extra.

Works well, through the wall installation was difficult.
This is the first doggy door I have tried, so don't have a lot to compare it to, but I have been satisfied so far. Our dog adapted to it quickly and it has been great now that cold weather has arrived. I installed it through a wall and had some difficulty getting the bolts that hold the two sides together cut, rethreaded (had to use a tap and die set) and lined up so the inside and outside parts attached securely. The two flaps appear to work well, but I have to assume there is going to be some ... read more heat loss, we'll see when really cold weather arrives.

It was just what I wanted, sturdy and easy to install. Nowall I need is to persuade my mini schnauzer that it is only a little different than the one we had before. THE PASSAGE SEEMS TO PUZZLE HIM AND HE WILL STAND THERE AND WAIT FOR ME TO RAISE THE FLAP!!

    Does the trick
I was disappointed that this door was too tall for a standard Andersen slider, so be sure to measure carefully. The good news is that the top part that adjusts the height can be easily removed (just 2 screws at the top of the unit). This will shorten the unit by about an inch, and the two pegs that push the height adjuster up will still hold the door in place. The weather stripping is inadequate for truly cold weather so we used that blocky air conditioning foam to keep the cold out until winter ... read more sets in and we have to really weatherproof the house. Meanwhile, the cats love being able to go in and out to the screen porch at will.

    Cat loves it
Super easy to install. Just pop it into the track. I didn't bother adding weather stripping because I live in a mild climate and usually leave windows open a little bit for air, anyway. My elderly cat picked up on the procedure right away. She loves her new freedom.

    good quality, good looking
We tried a few different options before we ordered this door. This door is by far the best looking and highest quality we found. It is a single piece rather than two pieces that had to be connected. The finish (white) is nice and the feel is solid. With some guidance from the manufacturer we cut the top down to better fit our space. This was easy and made a better fit. We used more foam insulation than was provided to seal around our door but this was a personal preference. I like the locking/ ... read more directional cat door much better than the dog flaps. It closes completely and locks with a simple twist of the lever.

Works well, could have better weatherproofing
Works great for the dog, it came with a small strip of weatherstripping, should come with enough to go all the way around it. Decent quality and the dog loves it after shoving him through it a couple times. Its a little pricey but it looks nice and was easier than making my own and doesn't require cutting a hole in the wall. It seems to do pretty well as not allowing air in but it hasn't gotten too cold yet. I haven't noticed any drafts.

Love it, the dogs love it.
We have a 100 year old house, with the original woodwork, and doors. The window doggie door was the perfect solution. The wndows are very low, just had to put in a small ramp, for the dogs. Excellent.

    Perfect Doggie Dor
Our dog is in an out all day long without us having to open and shut the door. People and dog are very happy!

Good quality and easy to install!
Good instructions and even comes with a "template" for fitting your door. Only thing they don't tell you is to drill holes to put in the "pins and screws" that hold the frame together, but you can figure that out. I installed this in less than an hour (single woman, pretty handy with tools). My two golden retrievers were using the door in no time and it's great! Just what I expected and price is a little cheaper than similar aluminum doors on the market. Very Satisfied.

    Door works well
Door works as expected and appears to be sealing properly after a dog goes through it.

Great door, but a tedious install
This is our second Ideal Pet door. The first one lasted about 15 years (through much heavy use) and we knew it was a good product. Like other reviewers mentioned, the template didn't exactly match the required dimensions, but it wasn't a big deal to adjust to. The hardest part was using the bolts with their receivers; it was tricky getting them to meet up. And one bolt/receiver pair would not thread together even with no door between them! The customer service people are sending us a replacement ... read more bolt and sleeve. Difficult install aside, we love the door. The clear flap looks great (our old one was not as transparent) and the magnets are a big improvement.

    Great Pet Door!
This is a great door. Our dogs love it. Although it is the short version, it was still too tall for our sliding door. I had to cut off about 2 inches. This isn't a fault of the door. I knew it would be too short. There wasn't any shorter so I knew I would need to modify it. The dogs go in and out just fine. It took about 3 days to fully train them to use it. It just took some patience. Once one of the dogs used it, the other learned to follow.

    easy to install. great
Took longer to open the box than it did to install. It does let a considerable amount of coldness seep through (it's aluminum after all), but it doesnt get very cold here so it's no big deal to me. Maybe some of that 3M weather proofing window shrink wrap stuff might help if you need it.

    pet door
We needed a way for our dog to get in after he let himself out. This seemed like the best option-well, it doesn't exactly fit the way it should have. The regular size was too big by 1/4 inch, so we ordered the Short version, which was too short. We added a piece of wood into the Spring loaded adjustment which worked out Ok. the weather stripping is flimsy, and didn't stick at all the way it should for a exterior door use. Works great for moving in place during day and removing at night. Security screen door
Great dog door. Worked great on my security screen door.

    Exactly what I needed
Was easy to install. Works great with the screen door/pet guard combo and the cats were happily using it within a day. It's a little larger than I needed for the cats and wished I'd found it in small but other than that it works just like it's supposed to. The video to show how to install was very helpful as well.

Just what I was looking for
This works really good and was very easy to install by myself. Dog is happy, owner is happy.
