    Great deal for the $$$
I've used Solatube products before. These are just as good, and cheaper. Super deal, since the stores do not stock them, but they deliver for free. Real quick installation. Also, I'm pretty sure that there's a Federal income tax credit of 10% for these things.

My wife and I wanted to add skylights because our kitchen was too dark but we did not want another round of messy construction. We saw a do-it-yourself show that had sun tunnels as an alternative so we decided to take the chance. We thought the before and after pictures were just photoshopped. Wow, were we wrong. We are so pleasantly surprised with the amount of light that the sun tunnel lets into our once dark kitchen. I would definitely recommend sun tunnels to anyone. We want to add they to ... read more other areas in the house. They make a very dramatic difference and they are not hard to install. Highly recommended!

Watch clearance in low pitch roof
I like this product and it provides much light in our previously dark foyer. Installation would have been easy except for one problem. The instructions and descriptions list a maximum recommended tunnel length of 20ft. However, there is no mention of a minimum distance. The swivel pipes for top and bottom of the tunnel probably work fine if you have at least 24" from the ceiling ring to the dome at the roof. I have a 3/12 pitch roof and my installation location only gave me 15". I had to ... read more disassemble the elbows and force the whole thing to make a jog by force and sheet metal screws. The light is still bright, but it could be better. The 10" version might have shorter swivel pipes.

    Tubalar Skylight
Ease of installation for the amount of illumination added to the bathroom was the main reason we decided on this type of skylight. We have these throughout our home and have been very satisfied. And the on line purchase made it very easy. It was deliviered in 3 days to our door.

    Let the light in
Looks good and allows lots of light in. Easy to install

Beautiful solution to former chimney location
We moved a woodstove and I could not envision patching the hole in the ceiling and roof and having it look okay. We purchased the solar tube and not only does the ceiling look lovely, this solar tube throws a lovely light on a favorite picture. My husband rated the ease of installation as fair, which was primarily complicated by our flat top roof and the layers involved. He actually got it installed fairly quickly, sealing the roof has been the not-so-easy part. That said, we are talking about ... read more putting a couple more in next summer.

    Let there be light
I installed three of these. These were the perfect solution to a dim hallway and kitchen. Impressive light delivery even catches nighttime glow from streetlight. I keep looking over my shoulder to see the lights were left on... Installation can be a challenge around pipes, electrical, joists and rafters but it is worth it. The manufacturer in Phx AZ sells more tubes and elbows if needed @ 25.00 ea. Customer service is good.

    Not what I expected.
I put this up in a large road that has minimal light from window. It has the appercence of a small very bright light fixture. Almost floricent with the dome defuser. It does light the room well but not very eligently. Worst yet I have a valted ceiling and it shines more direct at you. It does not give the impression of natural light. I tried this item for it being a less expensive, storm rated easy to install skylite . I may go and get a real stylite and use this in a different room in my home. ... read more The item is well made and installation was not over difficult. The double sided tape in the kit did not work very well.

It really brightens up a room.
I hired a professional roofer to install the Skylight Tube. It was perfect. Added much light to a dark living area in my home. The ease of installation for the roofer was amazing and even the roofer was impressed. This is a very neat and clean product.

    Bright Light
We had put this in a bathroom that had no windows, well it had just brought it to life. There is so much light now it makes the room. We will be putting one in our kitchen in the next couple of weeks. Great product, great price, good quality.

    Best Investment!
We purchased this skylight about a year ago for our dark, dreary bathroom and couldn't be more pleased! The amount of light it brings in is actually quite amazing, and more than we were expecting. We're thinking of purchasing another for the dark corner of our kitchen. It was also very easy to install, unlike a traditional skylight which requires framing and drywall work. Highly recommended!!

    Absolutely wonderful
Absolutely wonderful My wonderful baby brother installed this for me in a very dark bathroom due to no windows being present. It took him about an hour to install and the results are phenomenal! I have attempted to turn off the light switch dozens of times as I walk past the room because it is so bright with a wonderful white light. The light is much brighter and whiter than with CFLs or regular light bulbs. I did find some spots which needed attention with cleaning after installing this ... read more skylight which were not visible with the normal bulbs. Minimal light outdoors creates light indoors. You won’t be disappointed. I am now considering placing two additional solar tubes in other areas of my home that can benefit from free light during the day.

So far it seems to be what we were looking for, giving us plenty of light in the intended room area.
We were having a new roof installed, so decide to add the skylight. The kitchen area was dark in the corner, due to an outside carport, covering the kitchen door from getting sunlight. The skylight seems to have solved the problem and gives ample light for that area. We paid the roofer and a contractor to install the skylight and they didn't seem to have any problems with the install.

    14' impact dome sun tunnel
Installation was easy. We are pleased with the amount of light it produces in the room.

    Extremely Delighted!
The skylight has completely transformed the transition area between the entry hallway and living room, which has always been very dark without having the lights on. Now we have bright but soft light all day long, even in very cloudy weather. I rate the value as "good" rather than "excellent" only because the system is a little pricey, all things being equal. But still, it's worth the price. I would heartily recommend this system in all categories.

    Very good product
The sun tunnels were exactly as advertised, easy to install and look wonderful. These are a very good quality. We are very happy with the end result.

    Love this!!
I can't believe how much light I have, My installer said it was quite easy to install and he liked it so I'm ordering another for an upstairs bath. The only con I would say is I can't see up and out. The inside lens is frosted, I was hoping to look up and out and see the moon.

    Looks ok
The ad said easy to install on all roofs not so with metal and a vaulted ceiling but really thought finished work came out ok

    Great product
Just had a TLR installed to an interior bath while a new roof was put on. It is amazing how much light fills the room. One of out better decisions.

Same performance with no plastic bubble.
Despite being 1400sq', single story, with an abundance of windows, the light brown walls ate all the light coming into our home, making it dark and depressing even in the summer. So, when the time came to re-roof, we installed 7 Velux skylights all together. 2 electric 4646's, 1 fixed 3046, and 4 tubes. Two of the tubes would be visible from the street, and I am not fond of the appearance of the plastic dome. Luckily I discovered the TLR low-profile unit while planning the project. Another ... read more reason for choosing the TLR was the pitch of our roof was such that a TMR, which our roofer recommended over the TGR for our roof, would have sat askew/out of level. We did go with the TGR instead of the TMR for the domed units after meeting with the Velux rep, but that's a different story. ****Bottom line: The Velux Sun Tunnel skylights bring in much more light than we were expecting (after seeing our neighbor's new tubular skylight), and there is no discernible difference between the amount of light coming in through the two Sun Tunnel's with the plastic dome, and the two with the flat glass termination. The finished appearance is discreet and attractive, and was worth the extra hundred dollars. In fact, though I love the two enormous venting skylights in our living area, in hindsight I may have opted instead for 4 TLR tubes, which would have resulted in as much and possibly more light, less cost, and less additional load in heating and A/C.

    good product
The light in my bathroom is wonderful. After putting this installation off for years, I got motivated and went into action. But my crawlspace is tight with work-around water pipes to crawl over. The product design is fine for instalation, but with the tight crawl space, the install itself was horrible! Glad I did it and it's done. The light coming in is blue, sky blue. I'll try to see if a lighting gel can warm it up. In the dark of night, there's a glow from street lights, just enouh to keep ... read more from turning on the room lights to use the toilet. Good feature!

    Worth the cost & effort!
With a reroof, I decided on two 10 inch; kitchen and bath. I was pleasantly surprised with the results. Now I wish I had before/after pics to post. :)

    Excellent product & service
I ordered two skylights and one package arrived badly damaged - but Charles at HD contacted the vendor and they agreed to send replacement parts overnight so I could continue with the project without delay. The new tubes arrived as promised and the installation went smoothly - easy to follow instructions and both skylights were complete within two hours. Special thanks to Charles at HD!
