Was super easy to install and works great. My home depot had an actual electrician that gave me a few tips that were very helpful though:
First, when swapping out dimmer switches (these are wired exactly like a standard 3 way), the wire colors aren't important because electricians can and do use whatever they want. There is one green (ground) screw, two similarly colored screws (travelers), and a screw of a different color (black on this switch) that goes to load or hot. The only really

important wire to get right is the one on the odd color screw, so make sure that when you pull that one on the old switch you match it up on the new one. Travelers are interchangeable, and ground is obvious anyway.
Second, don't work dimmers hot. The electrician said that he'd burned up dimmers before because of the arcing that occurs when making the connections. It wasn't a problem for me because I always kill power to everything before I work on it, but good to know all the same.
Third, for a switch of this type, it doesn't mater which one you swap out. It will function the same, so you can put the dimmer in whatever location is more convenient and achieve the same effect.
Also, the price was actually cheaper in the store vs. the website. Nice surprise!
Once installed, the switch allows brightness to be controlled at the switch with the dimmer while the other switch simply turns the lights on and off. When turned on, the lights will illuminate to whatever brightness the dimmer is set to regardless of which switch was used. The switch is extremely simple and took virtually no explanation for anyone in my house to be able to use. It even fit into our existing switch plate covers. The only tiny complaint I might be able to make is that the feel of the switch is not very "positive", but more mushy when flipped. Certainly not a big issue especially considering all that it's got going for it.
