Wow, replacing 150 watts with 14!
Wouldn't have believed these would be as good as the halogens they are replacing unless I tried, which I did, and they are! Color and brightness as if we are still using the T-whatever halogens!

Great, Long-Lasting LED replacement for Quartz Halogen Bulb
I bought this bulb to replace the 300 Watt halogen bulb in the motion detector light on the back of my house. I got tired of dragging the extension ladder out every 6 - 12 months to replace that bulb. In contrast, this bulb should last for years! No, it's not quite as bright as the 300 Watt bulb I replaced with it. But then again, it's not rated at 300 Watts. And, it is still plenty bright enough! If you're looking for a good quality, long lasting, LED replacement for a quartz halogen bulb, this is it!

    So far, so good
This light seems to work very well. Time will tell of the longevity, energy use reduction is very substantial. Will most likely purchase more.

    Just the ticket
These guys were just what the Dr. ordered, I have an outside light that is on most evenings, & was burning out one bulb consistently. It took me longer to unpackage the bulbs than install them.. They were direct replacements for the PAR 250's I'd been using and actually a little brighter, combine that w/ long life & low cost of operation & you hit the trifecta. The cost was a little high, about half the cost of a new LED fixture, but if they perform as anticipated I should make that back in a ... read more year in energy savings.

    Great outdoor light
Again, LED's are the way to go. The only concern I would have had with this type of fixture - one designed for outdoor use - is durability. It has to stand up to 100 degree + temperatures in the summer and -40 degrees in the winter. Rain, snow, and wind are also factors. This unit, however, seems to be designed to stand up to the most brutal of conditions.

    Best bulbs out there
Been wanting to change from the existing 65w R30 flood bulbs to the LED bulbs, had to get a new Diva dimmer as one I have in was for incandescent bulbs. Took out the old dimmer and install the new Lutron Diva LED dimmer, take out old bulbs and install the new LED's. Turn on the lights an WOW they are really bright, good thing I put in that dimmer, set the low end on the dimmer, and for most uses leave on 25% level then can turn up for working in kitchen, but leave at the lower level for most ... read more tasks like getting a snack or a drink, etc. Really like the power saving as at leaving at 25% can leave on almost all the time and not reach 1KWH on the power bill and then will not have to change bulbs for years to come.

    ENERGY SAVER!
I used this LED bulb to replace a standard incandescent bulb in my recessed light fixture. Photo 1 shows that the new LED bulb is nearly identical to the old incandescent it was replacing. Not only in physical design, but also in the amount and color of the light. The main difference between the two bulbs is; the old bulb used 65 watts of electricity, much of the electricity used to create heat (150 to 215 degrees). and the LED bulb uses only 8.5 watts of electricity to create the same amount of ... read more light and virtually none creating heat (90 to 95 degrees). See Photo 2 for a comparison bulb color.

    65W Equivalent?
You know if you've purchased LED bulbs the "equivalent wattage" isn't always the same. Well, these bulbs are surprisingly close to my 65W incandescent bulbs I replaced. I say close because the only difference when put side by side while turned on (which I did) was the LED's were ever so slightly brighter.

Same look as incandescent, 85% less energy
The bulbs look great and were easy to install. Simply remove the old bulb and insert the new bulb. Same great look as incandescent bulbs with 85% less energy consumption.

    Awesomely cheap LED BR30 replacement
Great bulb for the price. Bought 20 of them because the incandescent BR30s burn out with alarming regularity. Instant on and you literally can't tell which are incandescent and which are LED. Very bright with a good color profile. Of course these bulbs will get much cheaper with time, but for now, these fit the bill. Can't speak to longevity yet as the oldest one in service for me is only 3 months in, but then again I shouldn't be able to weigh in for 10 years. If it even lasts for two it will ... read more be infinitely better than the incandescents!

    LED Lighting
The bulbs all work. The MFG packaging was excellent. Great price and fast easy delivery and store pick up. I'm a happy man.

Great LED bulb for current products
This new Philips 60W LED bulb is the second generation of the A19 bulb from them, not counting the far more expensive L-prize bulb. What's nice about this bulb? First, the appearance unlit is nice. No more yellow plastic surfaces. The bulb has been smoothed so the entire outside is smooth with no ridges or visible heat sinks. Second, the half second delay when turning on is gone. The original yellow 60W took a half second to come on after you flipped the switch. Now it's instantaneous. And ... read more unlike CFLs, it comes on at full brightness. Third, the lighting pattern is excellent and much like a standard incandescent bulb. This will work in an application where you need light in all directions. Disadvantages? A couple. First, this bulb is not Energy Star rated, and that is because the current LED Energy Star specification does not include a 5000K color temperature bulb (5000K is daylight, not warm white). In a few months the new specification will be released which allows 5000K to be used. So if you need Energy Star for rebates, get the warm white version of this bulb (2700K). Second, the price is good for a high quality LED bulb (under $25) but in a year or two we'll see a lot of bulbs under $15. Keep that in mind when figuring your cost savings over time. Disclaimer - I work in the LED lighting industry, though not for Philips. I know LED products well and consider this one as one of the best, and the company as one of the best.

    Great Bulb...Dims Wonderfully
I took a gamble on a case of these bulbs as I have a dimmer in a theater room that would not work with CFL's. When I saw that Philips had finally come out with this bulb I jumped at the chance even though they are currently about $25/bulb. From the first minute I turned the bulbs on, I knew I made the right decision. In fact, they worked so well I went out and bought two more dimmers and installed them the same night just so we could enjoy the energy savings. The final cost will be ... read more insignificant on this installation as the bulb will probably last 20 years. I estimate an annual savings of about $20 in this room so the payback is less than two years. That is the kind of investment we can all make...and it lowers the burden on the grid!

Great bulb and best price on the web!!
Come on quickly and dims well. I had 6 connected to a dimmer so keep that in mind when reading reviews.

    Great deal
Soooo tired of replacing ballasts and fluorescent bulbs. This bulb is a GREAT deal. As another reviewer said, it took less time to do the re-wiring than it took to clean the diffuser, REALLY easy to do. My only complaint was that I wish is came in a whiter light (4000k-5000k). But for the price you cannot beat it.

Get Rid of the Hum, Warm (Soft) White Led
I had replaced some 4 ft. flourescents with LEDs from another company. They did not sell 3 ft. LEDs which I also needed in the soft (warm) white. Home Depot had both lengths. Colors exactly match. Use wire cutters/strippers and the job takes less time than to clean the diffusers below the fixtures. No hum and more efficient with ballast removed.

    Must rewire fixture!
The bulb is a good value and works very well, but you must be prepared to rewire your fixture to bypass the ballast. You cannot just remove the fluorescent bulb, insert this bulb, and expect it to work.

Nice even light, instant on, standard shape and fit.
Used in conventional lighting application. Size and shape are consistent with a typical incandescent bulb. Gives even light and is an instant"on/off". Not affected by temperature that I can notice. Should provide long life. Does not produce heat like an incandescent, so there is no concern for use in a confined space. Looks to be well made and reasonably priced for the money.

LED - future illumination is now
I had the opportunity to evaluate this 60 W equivalent bulb. LED has become the wave of the future now. Cool running and super long lasting. This bulb is listed with a 5 year warranty and expected life of over 18 years burning only 6 watts which is only 10% of the standard filament bulbs. Listed as suitable for damp locations is a plus. The part of this LED bulb I like the most is the base. It is well plated and crimped with excellent plated smooth corrosion resistant contact surface. No warm up ... read more instant on design and dimmable. Estimated annual cost of under 72 cents a year. The color temp is soft white 2700K. As a sidenote I noticed light sockets, bases and fixtures have yet to catch up with the quality of the bulbs.

    Cool light!
What can you say about a light bulb? This one is definitely different. Its puts out a very bright blue light that's supposed to suppress your melatonin. This is supposed to enable you to wake up easier and faster in the morning. It is being used in a lamp in the bedroom that is switched on every morning. You are supposed to be exposed to it for about 20 minutes or so. At this point I'm not sure if it is working or not. Feel about the same as before. Maybe I need to use it longer to get the ... read more desired effect. But I would recommend that you buy it and try it.
