Nice color and finish, but too many short boards
I just finished intalling this wood in an upstairs hallway. Pros: The color and finish are beautiful. The t&g went together easily and installation was not hard.
Cons: I ordered 10% extra as recommended and it was just barely enough due to damaged boards. In the 6 boxes I got there was a total of 5 long boards. The majority of pieces were under 5 feet, most were 2-3 feet. The wood was shipped in flimsy cardboard boxes that didn't hold up well during the shipping process. There was no padding or

protection and the wood was able to slide around and get banged up, especially the end pieces.
Looks great, SAVES TIME.
The appearance matches the images of the product, the quality of the millwork is close to perfect and the installation is easy.
The only "problem" I encountered was one regarding the millwork, some of the pieces T&G were not exactly the same and the ends of the boards would be a hair above or below the next one. When I say a hair, I mean like 1/64 of an inch. If these had been unfinished boards, it wouldn't have mattered because the sanding process would have evened them out. A quick fix was to

use a Minwax Red Oak stain marker and a paper towel, mark the edges and wipe off the excess.
Regarding the lengths of the boards, I found it best to layout a couple of rows at a time using a 4" minimum overlap.
I was able to come right in at the estimated 10% left over mark.
Great looking but showing signs of wear after a little over a year
Easy to install with a floor nailer. I did almost 2,000 square feet in my house. Some long boards but mostly shorter ones. I only really have 1 or 2 full boxes of bad boards from probably over 40 boxes. Finish is not holding up to my dogs after a little over a year. I may have to replace some boards in high traffic areas.
