Stylish for a heater. Very quiet. Thermostat works to turn heater on and off quietly.

I purchased this heater on Black Friday last year. I live in Kentucky, and the winter that year was especially terrible. It was also the first year I had an entire 3 bedroom 2 bath house to heat (as opposed to a smaller apartment). I truly believe this heater helped keep our heating cost down. It helps if you strategically place the heater. We have ours on an inside wall near the household thermostat. As the weather is getting chilly now, we have used this instead of turning on the central heat.
... read more It doesn't heat the whole house, but it definitely heats the living room, kitchen, and entry way (where we normally spend most of our time).
It's safe for pets--my cat loves to lean up against it. (I've never put my hand directly in front of the vent to gauge how hot that gets, so I don't know how it would be for children.)
Also, the finish is beautiful, and it looks more like an end table than a heater (most of our friends didn't realize it was a heater until we turned it on). I use reviews routinely to decide between products, and though I deliberated for quite some time, I believe this was the best choice for us!
Also, the filter in the back is easy to clean.
The only downside is that it is HEAVY, so it's hard to load and unload, but I wouldn't worry if you don't plan on moving it around much. I also think (but I'm not sure) that it came with wheels that you can attach if you plan needing those.

Warm and relaxed!
Now I feel so relaxed and warm. Love that it gives you the temperature in room when you turn it on! The timer is very important also. Wheels for moving the unit is a very nice and useful. I have an electric fireplace unit, do not use it for heat. Also have a smaller unit from Home Depot in the kitchen and it works well, as there is no radiator in kitchen. What would I do without your great extra heating products?? Picture of unit to purchase is right on.
We purchased this for use in my husband's home office. We are very please with this product.

I've always had an electric heater, but seldom used it because they were more expensive to run, than just using my whole house heating system. This Heater works. I keep it in my bedroom, and it just heats that space. It doesn't try t heat the whole house. This way, I keep the rest of the house at 66, and my bedroom/bathroom at 68-70. When I'm getting ready for work in the morning, I am nice and warm. Also love the feature where you can have it set to run for up to 8 hours, and then it shuts off

does exactly what i t says.............heats up really quick......well worth the money.....really saves on your electric bill too.
This heater does just what I hoped it would do. I have a 12' x 16' room that has no other heat and this heater will bring the temperature up to comfortable in a very short time, even on the coldest days.

Easy to use
I have used this product in o=my basement and so far so good. It is a large basement area with no door to close the basement off, but the unit takes the chill off and makes it very comfortable when in use. Also got my first electric bill after a month of use and it didn't change it by any huge amount. So at the present I would buy a 2nd unit if needed.

Product does what it says it does and has nice features
After investigating thoroughly infrared heaters, reading many reviews and articles, I chose this one because it does not use bulbs to heat that can burn out and need to be replaced. Rather it uses a heating element that is guaranteed for life. I also chose it because I called the company and they gave me a number to speak to a technician who explained in detail how the element worked. He also explained to me how I could set it for small, medium and large area so I could use less wattage. So it
... read more seems they may have good customer service. I only need this unit for a small area that has no heat ,so I have used it on the lowest setting using the least amount of watts. I keep it on 62 or 65 all day and turn it off at night. There is a "sleep" setting to lower the fan which is nice for noise and using less electricity. I do not find the sleep setting noisy. The regular setting you can hear the fan, but it does not bother me. It also has a nice remote to set temperature and you can set the unit to come on and turn off by hours 1-10 or 12. You do need to set it each day or night. I have looked at my electric bill for one month use and find it is not any different than using the 2 oil filled heaters on very low which I was using before, so I do not find any major increase in the electric usage. I prefer the infrared heat. My review is however using the heater on its lowest setting, so I cannot say how it would work for a large area on the highest setting or what ones electric bill might be. I will see how it continues to perform the rest of the winter and next year. I purposely bought this item from Home Depot because they offered a 3 month return policy (so I could check my electric bill and see how it was). They also delivered it to my house and if I wanted to return it, I could take it back to my local store. They were willing to match a lesser price that I found. I have found their customer service to be great and fair, so I like to buy products from them if I can. Only reason I did not give it a 5 is because I am reviewing it after only one month and only use it for a small room.
Already had one just like it and decided to get another. We live in an old drafty 2 story house built around 1925. These heaters are just as efficient as gas and might be a little more economical......

We live in North Alabama in a large A-Frame. Although we don't experience the coldest winter's, it can get pretty chilly at times. In fact, our low last night was 19 degrees with even colder temperatures coming next week. When it gets this cold, both gas furnace's seem to run non=stop. We put this unit in the Great Room and another in the kitchen on the middle level. I was surprised to see both gas furnace's actually turn off at times. Even at 23 degrees! Hasn't happened in the 21 years we've

Purchased heater for our finished basement. Ever since we setup the heater we have seen significant improvements in the temperature of the basement and feel like it is helping the main level of the house a little as well.
This heater is the best we have ever used. We heat a sunroom with no insulation but it has our doggy door. It keeps the temp to whatever temp we set it. Never is hot to the touch, Shuts off when it reaches the perfect temp. So happy we got this.

Could not ask for better
I have used this unit full time for 2 winters in an office that has no other heat in the winter with temperatures as low as -30 degrees. The unit is never shut off and runs at a constant 74 degrees 24 hours a day. It is awesome and hasn't given me 1 problem. I went through 6 other heaters before finding this one and I'll never buy anything but these heaters again!! No headaches and well worth the money; a true quality product. I bought this heater to warm my basement and I am glad I did. The remote control and the quiet operation make this one of the best. This is best used for a average sized room.
This was an excellent purchase! The evenings have turned cooler, and this is just what we needed to take the chill off while watching TV. Warms up the room quickly, and has so many functions/options. Plus, it looks beautiful in our study; it's a really elegant design. It is also constructed very well. To make it more suitable for our needs, I purchased 4 small casters from Home Depot and installed on the bottom of the unit so we could roll the heater from the study to the living room. We have a

A Good Purchase
This heater was of much better quality than I had expected. It is small enough to fit in the place I wanted to put it and it works great! I have not found anything I don't like about it.

Heats better than expected. Moved to a slightly larger room and still does the job.
I am buying this heater for the second time because the first one I purchased was supplementing my gas fireplace. My first floor has twelve foot high ceilings. Our gas fireplace was not heating our first floor at all. I purchased this heater 3 years ago and it works great heating my first floor, even with the twelve foot ceilings. Well, my gas fireplace has stopped working and my Duraflame heater is still working. In addition to twelve foot ceilings, my first floor is about 1200 - 1300 sq. ft.

This is the second one i've purchased- first one lasted just 2 weeks before it made a squealing noise - I returned and purchased another because it does kick out the heat and it is a nice looking piece. Upset to know that Duraflame is now TwinStar. Hoping this one lasts.

Does the job fine!
Was looking for some supplemental heat in a bedroom at night and purchased one of these heaters. It worked well so I purchased another one for the downstairs bedroom
I had bought a similar heater and returned it within 24 hours because the fan was too loud and noisy.
This heater has a beautiful wood cabinet enclosure, is quiet and keeps the room at a comfortable warmth.

Just what the doctor ordered
I suffer from Raynaud's, and the doctor advised us to keep our thermostat in the low 70's in the winter. We have a large home, but spend most of our time in the kitchen/great room during the day. We set our thermostat at 68, then run this heater at 70 in the great room. The thermostat is in the hall off the great room, so the heater fools it into thinking it's 70 and it doesn't run. I'm comfy and warm in the great room, while the bedrooms stay cooler - just how we like it for sleeping. I'm sure

Good Overall Value
I bought this product to try and pick up a few degrees in a 1000sq ft finished room of my walkout basement which includes 8 windows. It gets me about 5 degrees warmer which is great. Even with all the windows in a cold climate in Nebraska, it works really well. I have 2 small children and it isn't hot to the touch or a worry at all. The electric bill wasn't adversly affected either.
