    Glad i took the leap
I'm a pretty good computer software person, but any kind of hardware installation gives me fits. The instructions say 15 minutes, that is clearly for someone very familiar with this type of work, still the instructions were pretty easy to follow and I did get the job done. I like this unit a lot, it is easy to program and temporary setting changes just require the use of one button.

    Good for price
Need to be careful installing if you have auxiliary heating and the operating instructions could use some tweaking, but overall an excellent product. Lots of non-Honeywell help on the web to answer install and operating concerns.

    great product
A little hard to program the modes ( sleep, day, leave, return etc), but it is easy to use after it's all set up.

    Great upgrade!!
This is a great upgrade over my old "dial" thermostat. I just installed this in my basement "man cave" and this thermostat controls the heat for the whole basement. It works great. Very simple to install and is equally simple to program. In the event you require something change to the program, it is very easy to over-ride. My only issue, and it is very minor, mirrors some other review comments. The backlight could stay on a little longer while programming. This is very minor and all the plusses ... read more of this unit far outweigh this small concern!

    Nice and big, bright display
For anyone who has stumbled around at 4 in the morning wondering what the temperature is this is great. Just tap the screen and it jumps to life with a bright light and big easy to read numbers. Installation took a grand total of about 10 mins. I don't get overly complicated when it comes to programming my thermostat, I'm more of a set it and forget it guy but this thing looks really easy to program if you were wanting to use those options. Overall at this price point it is a really nice upgrade.

I am thrilled with the easy to read numbers on this thermostat! The touchscreen is simple to use in programming. There are several options to choose from. The easy to follow installation instructions could be followed by a beginner. In addition the plate covers to match your decor are terrific. The best features are the ability to read the numbers without having to be right on top of the thermostat and the ease of programming.

Works great, had the neighbor install it for me
Since it was for a heat pump I was a little confused on the installation so I had my neighbor install it for me. Took about 20 minutes. works great and now I am comfortable all the time. No more wondering if I turned down the temperature when I go to bed.

    Good purchase
Even though I am retired and don't use all the stages, it's still good to have it lowered at night, which I could have done, but with this unit I don't have to remember and it starts warming up a few minutes before I get up in the morning. It has a 4 star because the tabs were missing from the package and my colors weren't the same (internet search cleared it up) and the only rebate was through the gas company and mine is electric. Overall, I'm very pleased with it and found it easy to install and program.

    Smart-Base Programmable Baseboard Thermostat
I recently replaced the 10 baseboard heaters in my house with the Cadet heaters. I used the manual controls in the downstairs heaters, and the Smart-Base Electronic Thermostats in the heaters upstairs where we spend most of our time. Although they are somewhat difficult (for me) to program and the buttons are hard to use, I think these thermostats combined with the Cadet heaters, are the best value on the market. I manually entered a set point of 70 degress in all of the thermostats and they ... read more work just fine. I will probably realize a savings in the cost of the thermostats over the manual controls, after the first year.

    Purchased two thermostats for attic
I recently added a third bedroom in my renovated attic and needed a heating source for it. I chose the 6 ft. 1,500-Watt 240 Volt Electric Baseboard Heater White because of the look and features of the product. The selling point for me also was this option of the programmable thermostats. I just received my new electric bill and only noticed a very minimal increase which I was a nice surprise. Even though the buttons are very hard to push I view this as a good thing because it helps prevent my ... read more children from changing the settings. I would recommend this product to anyone.

    Electronic Programmable Baseboard Thermostat
Excellent product, easy install and set up, no baseboard should be without it, a real energy saver.

    works well
Easy to wire up, and works well. I like how it seems to "learn" how long to cycle the heaters in order to not over heat the room. My only complaint would be that the programming is not very flexible. There are 4 divisions to the day. The times are programmable. They are intended to turn heat up / down / up / down in accordance with you waking / leaving house / returning to house / sleeping. I really just wanted two settings: on at night, off other times.

    Good Product
Bought one of these two years ago and haven't had any problems with it. It remembers its program even after power outages. Its easy to adjust the temperature, and to shut off when you plan to be away. There is an on/off button under the cover. If your cold, just turn the heat up and it will readjust when its time for its next cycle period. It comes preprogramed to so it will work right out of the box. There are instructions under the cover for changing the program. Good product.

    So far, so good.....
Its a thermostat. Is not like I'm reviewing a coffee pot that makes the world's best coffee. But, it does exactly what I need it to do, its programmable, and its priced reasonably. I wish it had a feature that would record the amount of time that it actually called for heat, so that I could calculate how much it was costing me to heat my enclosed porch. BTW, for whatever reason, the price at the other big (blue) box store is almost double that of Home Depot.

    Nice thermostat
Pros: Can be used with forced air wall heaters, Easy install with basic wiring skills, Very easy to program, Programming works great, Accurate temperature reading as far as I can tell. Cons: Once the room reaches its target temperature, the heater turns on and off literally every 3-5 seconds. We programed it to turn on the bathroom heater 20 min before we wake up and shut off before we leave in the morning, so that’s not really a factor for us. Other than that it’s set at the minimum ... read more temperature, so it never turns on. I imagine that this could be very annoying if you were trying to sleep in a room with a forced air heater constantly cycling on and off. Maybe it wouldn’t be as annoying if you had baseboard heaters. Since it's the only option for a programable thermostat with forced air heaters that I could find, I would recommend it.

When using this with forced-air cadet style heaters...
You have to go into the advanced settings and set "Fan" to "Yes" or it will cycle your heater on and off every few seconds. Once i figured this out, im very pleased.

I looked all over for a programmable baseboard heat thermostat. Home Depot was the only place I found one, and this was the only model offered. I installed it in our bedroom over a year ago, and it has worked perfectly from day one. It was easy to program, and it's easy to change settings. Our room is always comfortable when we're ready for bed, and we're not wasting electricity heating the room when we're not in there. Another nice thing about it is that it doesn't take batteries that need to ... read more be changed, yet it still keeps your settings if the power goes out. It was also easy to set it for the non-heating season. I just changed it to manual mode and set it for a lower temperature. If it got too cold at night in early spring or fall with the window open, the heat would still come on to keep us from freezing. I am buying another one for a room I'm remodeling into a nursery, and hope to have one in every room eventually.

Easy to Install, Tricky to Program
I have a heat pump/furnace combination. They take you step by step marking the wires coming out of the old thermostat, so installation is easy...a very small screw driver (for the heads of the wire terminals), regular screw driver for two mounting screws, hammer (for plastic screw holders),wire cutters (if you need to clean up the old wire), and drill with 3/16 or 3/32 inch bit depending on wall type. For simple installations, the programming is super easy. For more complicated AC/Furnace ... read more combinations there are 'functions' that need to be programmed into the thermostat. I ended up calling the 800 number and they led we through have to press a button twice (where the instructions indicate once) and hold of of them down longer than the five seconds the instructions indicated to get the function screen to come up. From there on, it was pretty easy. The Honeywell call center was, knew the answer quickly, etc. Operation of the unit is very good.

Replaced an older Honeywell model with this unit - installaltion was <15 minutes, programming added another 10-15 mins. Used in an institutional setting - the ability to program seven days independently was a must - we've reduced our overall gas/electric consumption by +25%!

Should have bought this one the first time
I bought this to replace a 3 year old programmable Rite Temp. I never could get the Rite Temp to work properly, it was hard to program and began turning on the A/C even when set for heat. The Honeywell was much easier to program and works as expected. The backlight is a really nice feature. I will be buying another Honeywell stat for my basement zone.

    Easy to install
I went over the directions quickly and it turned out to be an easy install. Once I started to install the thermostat, it was an easy ten minute job. The thermostat has an easy to read screen and many extra features and the setup was clear and simple. One of the features of the thermostat that I liked that I have not seen on other programmable thermostats is a feature that reminds you to clean the air filter. Overall I am very impressed.

    Easy Installation and programming
The UP300 is a nice programmable thermostat with a big, back-lit display that makes for easy viewing. It appears to support a very large variety of heating and air conditioning systems and is easy to install and program. Installation: I replaced a Honeywell programmable thermostat. I completed the swap-out in less than 15 minutes, just using a screw driver. It was as simple as taking down the Honeywell, noting the letter code that each wire went to on the Honeywell, and then hooking the wires to ... read more the exact same letter codes on the new one. Programming: Programming was as easy as installing. The buttons for programming are hidden behind a flip door, which gives the thermostat a clean look. The manual was helpful, but I could have done it with the help of the manual. Overall a good unit, even though it doesn't have a touch screen, which one can already get for a similar price.

Easy to read display, easy to program
Got this as a replacement. Installation is straight forward. It even includes jumpers for those that have heat pumps. Mounting holes lined up perfectly with previous holes. Once installed, programming was easy with a cut and paste feature. Once I had Monday programmed, copied and auto populated thru Friday. Nice big buttons, with a cover plate to hide all but the basic buttons. Also, has a short profile and sticks out from the wall less then the old one; maybe inch and half.
