    Easy installation and programming
I'm not exactly the handiest guy in the world, but installation was simple enough to finish the job in 15 minutes . . . including reading the directions. It comes pre-programmed with energy saving settings that can be changed in 15 seconds. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this thermostat to anyone.

    Installed it Myself
Easy to install and use. A must have for everyone Pros: 7 Day feature is awesome, can set wake, leave, return, and sleep temperatures and times. Cons: Backlight only comes on when you touch an active button and just not anywhere on the screen.

Simple interface - easy to read
I replaced a unit with a small screen that was hard to read and more complicated to set. The larger screen is easy to see and the touch interface is intuitive. So far, I only have it installed as a single stage controller like the old one, but when I get time will set for multi-stage since the furnace supports it. My wife was concerned about the green screen, but it is only green after a tap and then the back-light turns off. We had a similar unit in our last house that came with the high ... read more efficiency furnace install.

Save money stay warm. , Easy to install, Loos good
At my house not everyone is gone at the same time, my old thermostat was good but it only was programmable for 5 days and 2 days, and this one is 7 days so I can program it for every day. I programmed mine to start warming up the house 30 minutes earlier than when we wake up and it turns off when I know everyone left. this way it is not hot when nobody is home and its not cold when someone is. perfect choice to save money and stay warm.

It is not my strong point to install something like this but I did it! Just followed the instructions and it went in without challenges. It looks great and although there has been no need to have the air on it worked fine during testing. It is nice to be able to program something like the air if I am going to be away on a trip or something. The test was to see how it worked for a couple of days on the weekend and it seemed to kick on and off like a champ.

    Programmable Thermostat.
The 7 day programmable thermostat was vary east to install and program. I had it installed in less than fifteen minutes and my wife programmed it for the settings she likes. It works vary well. We like to have the house cool at night because I sleep better that way and it is programmed to turn the air conditioner to a warmer setting for the day. I'm sure it will work just as well in the winter. I am vary happy with this thermostat and would advise anyone looking for a 7 day programmable ... read more thermostat to purchase this one.

    Programmable Thermostat for Heat Pump
This is awesome product, I was glad Home Depot had this no other place carried this product. Thank you

    Good purchase
Even though I am retired and don't use all the stages, it's still good to have it lowered at night, which I could have done, but with this unit I don't have to remember and it starts warming up a few minutes before I get up in the morning. It has a 4 star because the tabs were missing from the package and my colors weren't the same (internet search cleared it up) and the only rebate was through the gas company and mine is electric. Overall, I'm very pleased with it and found it easy to install and program.

Works great, had the neighbor install it for me
Since it was for a heat pump I was a little confused on the installation so I had my neighbor install it for me. Took about 20 minutes. works great and now I am comfortable all the time. No more wondering if I turned down the temperature when I go to bed.

    Wouldn't be without !
We had the other type of controller with the dial and this one can't compare. Keeps temp within 3 degrees since we hooked it with the Cadet heaters.

    Smart-Base Programmable Baseboard Thermostat
I recently replaced the 10 baseboard heaters in my house with the Cadet heaters. I used the manual controls in the downstairs heaters, and the Smart-Base Electronic Thermostats in the heaters upstairs where we spend most of our time. Although they are somewhat difficult (for me) to program and the buttons are hard to use, I think these thermostats combined with the Cadet heaters, are the best value on the market. I manually entered a set point of 70 degress in all of the thermostats and they ... read more work just fine. I will probably realize a savings in the cost of the thermostats over the manual controls, after the first year.

    Purchased two thermostats for attic
I recently added a third bedroom in my renovated attic and needed a heating source for it. I chose the 6 ft. 1,500-Watt 240 Volt Electric Baseboard Heater White because of the look and features of the product. The selling point for me also was this option of the programmable thermostats. I just received my new electric bill and only noticed a very minimal increase which I was a nice surprise. Even though the buttons are very hard to push I view this as a good thing because it helps prevent my ... read more children from changing the settings. I would recommend this product to anyone.

    Great little thermostat
I bought this because my kitchen (which has a 7 foot by 10 foot bow window) was always cold on winter mornings. I installed a simple baseboard heater below the window, and wanted something that I could program to come on just before I get up, and bring the room to the same temperature as the rest of the house. This is a nice compact, easy to program thermostat. A great value for the money, and perfect for my use case.

Hopefully it is a good purchase
I am having tremendous problems programming the thermostats, I even had a friend of mine who is a licensed electrician for 35 years try to figure out the programming and he could not get them programmed correctly. The reason I would recommend this product is because others may be more astute at programming them.

    Love Home Depot
In a recent replacement of condo baseboard heaters and thermostats, Home Depot was right there for me. If it was not in stock, they ordered from another store and made our pick up of products much simpler.Staff were always helpful and courteous. And we wound up with excellent products, especially the programmable thermostat. I now have a comfy home to enjoy and no worries about whether I turned down or set thermostat for night, vacation or just being away for a few hours a day. I truly recommend ... read more these thermostats. Takes some concentration if you install yourself, programming. But that is doable and you can depend on they. Honeywell's/Cadets are great.

Does exactly what it should do
This is a budget programmable thermostat, but why would you need more features than this has to offer? I have been using this for 2 years and have noticed no problems with accuracy. The programs run pretty well too, giving your house some ramp-up time. But in most cases, ramp-up time is super dependent on your cooling/heating, so you're better off setting it to earlier times.

    Good for garage application.
Using LUX TX-500Uc thermostat in my garage to maintain garage cool but above freezing, and facilitate a greater warm-up when wanted. Thermostat controls a 2-stage heater with 17K BTU / 5K watt on each stage. Thermostat allows good setup flexibility for minimum temp., temp. swing, and temp. offset to control 2-nd. stage. It's the only thermostat that I could find that met my needs to provide a low stage heating temp. control without kicking in the high stage heat unless demand was unusually high ... read more or manually switched on.

    Most affordable programmable thermostat available
I purchased this new release of the TX500U for my rental property where I provide heating and cooling. The TX500U is probably the most affordable programmable thermostat on the market. Took about 15 minutes to install. I also added a Lux Products A773001 Large Locking Thermostat Guard to prevent my tenants from tempering with the thermostat. The TX500U is a great value and works great and I expect to save money on my utility expenses since the TX500U offers programming capability.

I am using it to control the temperature in my greenhouse. It works perfectly, easy to set up and an excellent price!

    Awesome product
Setup was very easy. I saved a lot of energy/money by keeping a closed off room warm enough for plants without constantly running the electric heater. The plants survived the winter.

    Perfect For My Applicaton
I installed a tankless water heater in my shop for in-floor heating. Not being actually designed for this application, the heater comes with a water temp stat and they don't work with a regular air thermostat. This programmable Lux is exactly what I needed and it works perfectly. All you do is plug it into an outlet and plug whatever you want to control into it. It doesn't get any easier. In the summer, I will use it for the window A/C.

Does exactly what it is supposed to
Our old thermostat was attached with duck tape. Having rambunctious cats around, I was in constant fear of them breaking it and getting mercury poisoning, so I was very determined to replace our thermostat. If you want to do it yourself, please follow instructions carefully and make sure to carefully mark all your wires. We made that mistake and ended up having to bring in a professional to install it. But that's our fault, not the fault of the thermostat. Once we got it installed, it works ... read more fantastic. It's nice to be able to set the house to the exact temp. we want, not to have that "fiddle room" you get with the old fashioned thermostats. It looks nice on the wall too, rather than some clumsy dial or box. The timers work perfectly, and it's nice not having to remember to set the heat up or down at certain times. We have it set to go low at night and then to go up about an hour before we wake up, so no more, "I don't wanna get up, it's too cold out there!" We couldn't be more pleased with the unit.

    Easy installation, tips
The directions were easy to follow and the unit easy to install. Three tips: 1 the directions don’t explain how to separate the thermostat from the wall plate. It pulls apart, just grab each and pull. 2 The screws that hold the wires down are very small. Before you start be sure you have a screw driver that will fit. 3 It uses two AA batteries as backup power but they are not included. I would recommend and buy this thermostat again.

    excellent choice
this replaced a one year old rite temp that had screen issues from the get go. installed in 20 minutes. seems to keep the house at a more even temp. like the fact that it will auto switch between heat and ac. living in north texas this could come in handy.
