50 CFM CEILING BATH FAN Model # TY-50-A(HD)
Very quiet !! works well on about an 8' x 10' bathroom, even though I had to neck down the exhaust to 3 from 4 inches to attach to the existing roof vent.

It is quiet and effiicient. For a small bathroom, this was a big improvement.
This is a replacement for a 35 year old unit. It did require upgrading to a 4" duct from the original 3" version. It was worth the effort. The fan actually removes the moist air and I have yet to have any condensation on the bathroom mirror after taking a shower. And, it is quiet. Based on its cost, I am my expectations were exceeded. Attached is a photo. I made this upgrade while in the process of a little remodel on the floor above.

Priced right and it does a decent job
Installed in a first floor powder room. I replaced a 25 year old unit that was really noisy. This unit is a lot quieter. Instructions were pretty much useless. The instructions call for a 9.5 in square opening. Even though the front is removable you cannot reattach it to the body in the opening. I made the opening 11 inches on the long side and it slipped right in the opening. The trim plate covers the opening. I also used tape to seal up the gap and help with the air flow.

    Read this about the noise!
This fan was a retrofit in my master bath. Installation was easy. I was disappointed with the noise when I first turned it on. I removed the blower to investigate. I found that the blower has a variable motor speed. With the blower outside of the unit, plugged into a wall outlet, it is very quiet, probably 1 sone. When I put my hand over the intake or exhaust of the blower, the motor would pick up speed to maintain airflow and get louder. I have about a 20 foot run of 4" duct to my roof vent and ... read more that must give too much resistance, causing the blower motor to spin faster to maintain airflow. Sadly, I'd guess it's 3-4 sones and that's the reason I gave it 4 stars.

    Moves a lot of air
My main full bathroom did not have a fan at all and I had to keep a window open to remove moisture during showers. There was still signs of water damage above the window level. Installing this fan has removed all concerns of mold or other moisture causing damage in this bathroom. The bathroom is medium sized, full size tub bath with a toilet/vanity across and this fan is more than powerful enough. I wouldn't call it whisper quiet but for how effective it is, it's quiet. The fan cover is ... read more unassuming so it "looks good" in that it doesn't stand out.

    Quite and powerful
I replaced an original 25-year-old bath fan from below. Installation was pretty straight forward once I got past the first step. It shows you twisting a screwdriver to remove the blower from the fan housing. I thought it was depicting removing the two screws that secure the blower, but after a while I finally figured out that you have to strongly bend the blower support tabs to release them from the housing after removing the screws. To do the retrofit installation I had to enlarge the opening ... read more to 9 3/4" by 10.5". I had enough play in my flex duct that I could pull it through the opening in the fan housing to connect it to the duct connector. The electrical connection is made opposite the duct connection and can be made either from above or the back side. The fan grill is attractive and it runs quietly with a strong air flow.

    Love this fan
I love this exhaust. It exceeded all my expectations. I'm using it in my hot tub room and it's quiet and efficient. Thank you for your speedy delivery and a really good product

    Nice Fan
It works good, it looks great, I would have gave it 5 stars but it arrived with the box a little banged up. Nothing broken, It's a little loud also. Wish I could have bought it in store.

    Easy Installaton
I needed an exhaust fan for an existing bathroom. I had a small space to install it in that was not accessible from above the ceiling. I chose this fan because of the small size, the low noise level, the 110 cfm exhaust volume, and the attractive design. The biggest influence was that the factory installation instructions for this fan that were posted on the Home Depot website were great. I looked at a number of other fans and the instructions for this fan were far superior. The instruction were ... read more step by step with a picture for each step and there were four sets of instructions - 2 for new construction, and 2 for existing construction. One of those was exactly what I was looking for. I had never installed a fan before and following the instructions made it easy. The fan has been operating for about a month now. It works great, gets all the moisture out of the bathroom, runs quiet, and my wife loves it.

    Replacement Ventilation Fan
This fan was not sold in the store. The online description indicated 110 cfm, which was needed to replace the 70 cfm fan in the basement bathroom. I installed a shower in that bathroom, which needed a bigger fan. Easy to install.

Does everything a fan should do.
We moved into a house that had no fan in the restroom. The steam on the mirrors was irritating. After the fan was installed I told my friend "the good news is there is no fog on the mirror when I get out of the shower, and the bad news is since there is no fog on the mirror I can see how fat I am-haha.

    Great fan for the price
The fan arrived in four days. It was easily installed and worked great. The CFM is more than double builder grade fans and really moves air. This is a great deal.

    Whisper Quiet
It was really easy to install, the light is bright and the exhaust fan is whisper quiet. It is so lovely not having a jet engine when I turn the light on for the bathroom. It can be split to be on separate switches, I just opted not to because I didn't want to do additional electrical work. Worth every penny.

    Nice Looking
We got this fan because we wanted a quiet fan, full lighting feature (Night Light /Light), and something that looked nice. I guess 1 out of 3 isn't all bad. Installed sound is about 1.5-2. If you get a humidity sensor switch (which I need - Kids Bathroom) - forget about night light feature. If you get this fan everyone will tell you - you should have bought the Panasonic (any Panasonic). Pro - Nice looking Con - Should have better instructions and switch recommendations. Could have a quieter ... read more motor/fan. What good are features when they are difficult to get setup because of lack of application notes/help.

    Great looking light, quiet fan
This is a great light/fan combination which gives off good light and has a very quite fan. I love the unique look. Unable to comment on installation because it was installed by an electrician during a bathroom remodel. Unable to comment on night light as we did not hook up the night light portion because we also added a light with a dimmer switch during the remodel.

    Outstanding bathroom fan!!!
Fabulous bathroom fan!!! I highly recommend this fan for anyone who is looking to upgrade their bathroom vent fan. Installation was a little time consuming and a lot of work for me, due to the fact that I installed it in my guess bathroom with no existing bathroom fan. So, therefore I had to do all the extra duct work in my attic. It was well worth all the hard work for this beautiful fan. I'm pretty sure the installation is pretty easy like the instructions and video show if you have an existing bathroom fan.

    Wow...what a breeze!
I bought this unit to replace a unit from another manufacturer. The old one was loud, did not exhaust the steam from my shower very well, and was plain ol' piece of junk...I purchased the Nutone and the instructions were easy, concise and completely easy to understand. Installation took less than an hur. Quiet, efficient and so so well worth it.. I was able to use the very shallow space the other was located in. the self tightening screws were amazing.

    Good DIY installation project
We decided to replace the fan in a small toilet room as the existing fan noise level was on the mid-loud side. Pretty straight forward project as long as you have the right tools. Very appreciative of the 4 inch to 3 inch exhaust pipe converter included with the package. Most difficult part was getting the 2nd of 2 screws that hold the fan up to align for securing the fan after the box was installed overhead. My wife immediately expressed admiration for the lower noise level and now wants to ... read more know when the master bathroom main fan will be replaced...

    Great fan
The fan is great. It's fairly quiet (but not silent) has a bright light with bulb included (26 watt fluorescent = 100 watt regular) and looks good. Seems like the best bang for the buck (paid $69) between quietness (1.5 sones) and airflow (70 CFM) and it's Energy Star certified. Had it installed by an electrician but seemed like an easy job.

    Works as expected so far
It was installed two weeks ago and works as expected so far. Too early to comment on durability. Lamp-and-Fan-in- one replaces the previous lamp-set in one location -- no extra hole to dig in the ceiling. The rated 1.5 sones unit that I have is a bit noisy to me. The GU24 bulb used is not a popular type to be maintained. P.S. Though no one mentioned this, but make sure your bathroom door bottom has enough gap to allow the needed fresh air to come in to ensure the best air flow efficiency.

Nice unit for a great price!
This fan/light combo unit fit into the existing hole in my ceiling (which didn't have any overhead access) and installed without any issues. The fan is super quiet and everything works great. I'm only a little concerned about finding replacement bulbs, but I figure when the time comes, I'll just look for them at Home Depot.
