Product replaced an older brand of lighting and the update is just as I hoped it would be.

Didn't last but Halo replaced them w/ improved version
I bought three of these to light a closet. After about a year and a half the phenolic resin lamp holder started to fall apart on one of them and the light would sometimes not come on. I bought a new one and realized that the new lamp holder was made out of ceramic which is a material that can withstand a lot more heat. When I looked at the other ones they were showing signs of heat stress as well and didn't look like they would last much longer. Needles to say I was not happy so I sent an email
... read more to Halo at the address on the container and told them of my problem and that I would like them to replace the sockets for the lights with the ceramic versions. The said that they didn't have repair parts for them but they would send me whole new ones at no charge. The new ones that arrived had ceramic lamp holders as well. I replaced all three and have not had any problems since. I would not recommend the trim piece unless it has the ceramic lampholder.

Perfectly average can trim
These trims are nothing special, but I happen to have a building full of 6" cans so switching out to something more interesting wasn't an option. This uses a standard edison base bulb so you have plenty of bulb options.
I used six for my bathroom ceiling, and got a
recess ceiling fan with light that matches.

Looks good, easy to install
The trim fits tightly into the Halo H99ICT recessed lighting housing unit. I liked the smaller 4" light and used this in a suspended ceiling int he basement. The cost is high for what you get, but it's in line with other retailers. The finish looks a bit chalky, so we'll see how that holds up. In order to use a 40 watt light I also had to buy the H1999 socket extended for another $8 per light... it adds up quick, but the end result looked good.

Looked great, easy to install and was exactly what I was looking for.
Solid housing - read the review for a great installation tip!
A great replacement option for the open can lights. This has a very solid single piece housing. The ring fits nice and tight against the ceiling virtually eliminating the draft from my un heated attic space above the light.
The baffle is 2 inches on this light. I have other retro kits with a 3/4 inch deep baffle so be careful if you already have other kits. Besides the depth the two types of retrofit kits look identical after installation.
Also a great tip I learned after 5 minutes of
... read more frustration trying to get the light to fit tight against the ceiling. The prongs need to fit as far into the can as possible. For my cans it is the short slot beyond the reach of my fingers.
1. Insert two prongs from one side of the light into the can, most likely the short slots further in.
2. slide the light up paying attention to where the prongs are. Try to get them as close to the slots but don't worry about getting into the slots yet. I tried using a needle nose pliers and small dowel with no luck.
3. Push the light against the ceiling and twist the entire kit about an inch or less. The prongs will slide along the inside of the can and snap into the slots. The light should be nice and snug with no gaps. You may have to twist in the opposite direction to get the last prong to snap into the slot. You will know success when the ring stays snug when pulling down gently.
These instructions should make more sense when you are installing the light.
It would have been an easy 5 star rating but the opaque layer on the plastic light cover is slightly mis-aligned causing a one inch shadow along the edge. Its visible when the light is off and on. Most people wouldn't notice it but once you see it you always see it. Of course you will never look at the light directly when it is on so really only an issue when it is off It is probably an anomaly but worth mentioning.
All in all it is an attractive light. They really are very easy to install and looks a thousand times better than the open cans with the big R40 bulbs. I have 15 of them in my downstairs so am replacing a few every couple of months.

Quality that looks and works right
If you are like me, you are looking into swapping out your old 60W BR30 incandescent "can" bulbs. I started with this Juno unit and was impressed. It is bright, yet dims well with a dimmer. But it is a bit expensive.
So I admit, I tried a different, cheaper non-USA assembled unit. And I was disappointed.
I'm back getting another of these Juno units which are USA assembled. Let me tell you the two big reasons why, outside of the normal operation.
1) The spring clips that hold the unit in
... read more the can work super well. They grab and snug the ring right up to the ceiling very well. There's no sag like you might get in a cheaper unit. This is important! You don't want that cheap "falling out of the can" look you get with some other types.
2) The "recessed baffle" LOOKS RIGHT. It fits right in with what you expect. There's over an inch of recessed baffle rings. You will be fooled because it looks just like a traditional incandescent with the standard baffle. The cheap LED units? Well, they look wrong in comparison.
Beyond that, the unit is very substantial and you can tell it is made well. The edison style screw adapter is included, and works well. I'm using a dimmer compatible with LED, CFL or incandescent, and they dim OK. The instructions say just about any dimmer will work OK, which is a plus.
So, yeah, you get what you pay for. And these units are worth it.

Great eco-friendly light
I have a very short basement in my home, so having recessed lighting is a must. These were simple to install, and I love the fact that they are LED so no dealing with lightbulbs for the long term. Also the retrofit module allows you to plug this light directly into an existing standard light outlet which simplifies the install process for many people I imagine. I definitely plan on picking up more of these in the future.
If a 63 year-old woman can install 6 in less than 10 minutes, I would imagine just about anyone can install these fantastic lights. They look great! Ordering more to replace the whole house.

One light in the box of 12 lights was wired backwards, but The Home Depot replaced it in store. Our electrician installed them rather quickly. We have since bought 8 more to install. We are very pleased with the look of the fixture and the luminescence.

Works really well!
These were super easy to install in my 6" recessed fixtures. The light is quite bright for our kitchen making it easy to see what you are working on. The color is good, nice and warm. Also, they make an airtight seal so I believe that they will help keep the heat in better that before. They look pretty sleek even though all visible parts are plastic.
Comes with everything you need to install in almost every type of scenario. I've put them into my own house as well as a number of my clients. Fast, clean installation as retrofit into recessed cans and they'll fit into regular J-boxes also! Excellent bright light, dim-able, air-tight after install, low profile housing looks great on the ceiling in any room.

Great light fixture alternative!
Excellent product for appearance, quality (installed less than 3 weeks at this point - time will tell), a little pricy, but VERY easy to install. Highly recommend. And, delivery from Home Depot was fast.

excellent LED ceiling light replacement
great for replacing ceiling fixtures. now there is no dust or bulbs to change
This product was exactly what I needed to complete my room.
I really like how the baffle trim makes my room so comfortable, controls the light and fits in with my decor.
I don't have any additional recessed lighting in my home but if I did I would choose this product again.

I love this trim! I have black appliances with stainless steel accents in my kitchen so this baffel workes perfectly! It pulls up the black and stainless colors of the kitchen and makes the ceiling look taller. It also adds a great break for the eye against the white ceiling.

These 4" Halo brand baffle trim items were not available in my local store, so I purchased them online. They are a "hammered" style dark bronze color, and match my other bronze items. They fit well into my Halo fixtures. I would recommend.
They were shipped quickly, arrived promptly, packaged well.
Bought a batch of these to install in recessed cans in the bathroom. Surprisingly bright, very even, very good looking light. Installed some of the lower CRI ones in the kitchen, but in the bathroom I'd stick to the high CRI.

Attractive fixture, tight installation clearance
I installed this LED (40w equivalent) fixture in my clothes closet, as a new installation (not a recessed fixture retrofit). It has a clean, attractive appearance but the wattage may be a bit too small for my application. Of course, this being an LED fixture means that it is not possible to simply swap the bulb out for a different wattage but instead requires a complete fixture replacement. The brightness did not make enough of a difference to me, to bother changing out the fixture, but it is
... read more something I would encourage others to consider before making their purchase.
The fixture seemed to get a little brighter the longer it was lit (not sure if this is my imagination, or based in fact). Also, the assembly requires that there be sufficient space to install inside a box or existing recessed light fixture (in the case of a retrofit). The 4” old work box that I used was rather shallow, and so I found it challenging to get the fixture mechanical mounted inside of the box. If you’re installing in a conventional box (not a recessed light retrofit), than I would suggest using a deep box.
My closet ceiling is nearly 9’ tall, so having an LED fixture where the bulb is expected to last many times longer than a conventional bulb, is a definite plus in terms of ease of maintenance, and since this fixture sits flush with the surface of the ceiling, it should minimize the safety hazard of a bare bulb or other protruding glass fixture typically found in closet applications.
Overall, this is a good product, and depending on your application it could be a great investment.

NIce Warm Lighting, my 3rd one
You won't believe how easy it was to install this light fixture. Not really more complicated than repalcing a bulb, and I got a beautiful new light that really accents my laundry room. This light to is marked for wet areas To install it only 3 wires (White, power lead. Black neutral lead, Green ground lead) and screws and that's all there is to it. The instruction to me were easy to follow, well written plain English. I didn't have to have a anyone help me, just a ladder. Will put my electrician
... read more out of work! I did have my electrician install this same Halo LED by Cooper Lighting in my shower stall.
This Surface Mount not only can be hard wired It can be wired to screw into and existing bulb screw in type!!!
I get plenty of warm light emitting from this LED
Fit right in the old work can I installed to replace the fluorescent fixture, outstanding light output and puts the light where you want it, so if a rafter is in the way just tilt the light to shine where you want.
And that 20 year life on lamp is ouutstanding

This easy to install LED fixture fits in a 4" recessed can. I installed it in a patio ceiling with the light gimbaled to highlight a rock wall. The picture shows the fixture with a 6" trim ring that I purchased extra and installed to hide a gap between the ceiling and the light fixture. The dimming works perfectly and the light is bright.

Great Item for our application!
This down light will be located over a toilet in a dimly lit area. The adjustability of this item was just what we needed.
