I was using this chisel to take apart pallets by shearing the nails. It worked really well for about 45 minutes and the the plastic top cracked completely. Now it's just regular chisel without the cool 'hard top'... Ah well, good in theory.
Made in USA is what you want when buying a tool. They work better, last longer, and your dollars are spent giving your neighbor a job. American tools built the old America we loved. Use American tools to bring back what we had.
I looked long and hard online to find a Cold Chisel. Found the Hard Cap line of Chisels. Awesome tool. At first I thought they were full of it, a plastic cap that is "unbreakable". That's right, unbreakable, used a 4 pound hammer on this thing and the cap barely shows a scratch. Awesome Tools!
I dont use it very often, but when i do it works great. i mostly use it to break welds on cut in boxes and one hit and its done. works great. keep it up Klein. MADE IN THE USA
Used to knock out ancient broken tiles in my 100 year-old house (had to come out bc of water damage). Such an ancient tool, but very necessary. Compact but sturdy; no battery or electricity reliance --- I like that!
This chisel is strong, heavy duty and gets the job done. The poly cap kept my hammer from slipping when I hit the chisel so it is safer than my older chisels. Also this chisel is well made and made here in the USA !
What can I say, have not used it on anything tough, only bought it as a filler to meet minimum shipping cost
It is a steel chistle with a plastic (?) head. I had concerns about the plastic-like head breaking if I were to hit it hard enough with a regular hammer but so far it is showing no signs of that happening. It is a comfortable tool.
The longer chisel made it easy to use and hold on to. Blade end stayed sharp even after being used on steel and concrete.
I used this to chisel out mortar between real rock used as a facade on my house, it handles well and the large protective handle kept my hand from getting hit when I got careless. Worth every penny.
