    Very good product
This product was well built and the instructions were simple. My girlfriend and I assembled out firepit in about 4 hours. That included clearing the area and leveling the spot.

    Awesome looking!
It's true that these blocks do not look like the picture and I'm glad they don't. They are a blend of tan, charcoal, and brick red. They go perfect with my brick and I love the flat face of these bricks. My garden retaining wall is gorgeous. Only had 1 or 2 broken blocks out of the pallet. Very pleased!

    They Rock
The picture in the website does not do justice to this block. It is gorgeous and I love the way my wall is coming with them.

    See them in person!
These blocks look better in person than the picture online. They are much more natural looking, no purples at all. The colors are more subtle grays, tans, and reds...as you can see in my photo. We are using the three different sized blocks that are available.

    Great product for terracing
This is the third time I have used this product for terracing a site. In this case I was dealing with a spot in my lawn where underlying limestone projected through the lawn and the surrounding soil was too shallow to support grass in dry weather. My intention is to create a bed that has enough soil to support plants that are somewhat drought tolerant.

    130' of Block Wall
I purchased multiple pallets of this block to build a retaining wall in my back yard. It's as high as 4 feet in some places. It goes together very easily and was simple to do a meandering feature all through the entire structure. Prep work is key in making this sturdy and long-lasting. Don't skimp on sand and/or gravel base. I'm on clay soil so when it gets very wet it becomes very unstable. I used a combo of sand and pea gravel and it's been there now for 2 years and is working very well.

    Terra Cotta Stone
Bought a pallet of these wall stones and although there were one or two that were damaged the majority were fine and the guys at the store put 3 extras on the pallet just for this reason. They lay very easily and fit nicely. Really made a difference in the yard. Will definitely buy more

    Rumblestone Wall Blocks
When building my koi pond...I wanted the look of the ruins of a castle wall in the background. With these Rumblestone blocks in various sizes it was relatively easy to accomplish. They are highly decorative, easy to work with, reusable, durable and solid. Great detail in the wall. Very happy.

    Wall block
These stones were delivered on time and where I asked them to be dropped. Most of the stones were not chipped and their color was mostly consistant. They go together very nice and look great afterwards. Nice product!

    Nice block
Ordered a lot of these blocks. Worked and look great for a retaining wall. Just be prepared to cut them where they're supposed to be pre-cut. You'll see in the video. They're scored to be cut, but it's hit or miss if the machine actually shaped them right.

Very pleased with the walls we installed last year
Last year we completed a large project with Verdura 30 blocks and we are very pleased. We decided to reclaim a narrow (15' x 45') sideyard. The neighbor's lot is 5' higher, so the resulting steep slope ate up nearly all the space and rendered it useless. We installed a 3-course wall 2' out from the fence line, then another 6-course wall 7' out from that. We now have a useable planter along the fence and a huge garden terrace. Much of the garden maintenance can also be done from the path below, ... read more which has been a great plus. The deep backfilled soil has resulted in huge tasty vegies we've only dreamed about until now. But the thing we like most is what we did with the plantable wall itself. Taking the idea from terracotta strawberry pots, we decided to fill all the voids with Patio Plus planter mix and plant both day-neutral and June-bearing strawberry plants Home Depot sold in bare-root bundles. We've had at least some berries to pick every day of the year here in our Southern California climate. The upper garden irrigation and fertilizer keeps the strawberry plants in the wall watered, fed and happy. And since the berries hang out in the air, they ripen with much less loss to pests. During the peak of the season this 1st year, our production has been about a quart a day. Not bad from a wall that only gets an hour of direct sunlight a day. The grandkids love picking the berries, too, as they are all within reach. Just some comments on installation: I agree with the earlier reviewer - the blocks are very heavy. Best to get some help if you are not up to the task. We had Home Depot deliver the blocks, then hired some helpers. Also, I do wish the manufacturer offered corner blocks. The Verdura blocks lend themselves to wonderful curved runs, but if you want to go 90 degrees back into the hill, as we did, they do not offer a product to do this. I ended up cutting pairs of blocks at 45 degree angles with a masonry saw and mating them together using paver blocks along the seam and a landscape block adhesive Home Depot sells. The results turned out well, and allowed us to terminate the garden wall at each end and put an access stair in the middle. These larger custom end blocks got planted with fuchsias, which hang down and flower beautifully. We are very pleased with the result, but creating the corner blocks themselves was extra work.

Four Tier Verdura Buff retaining wall, DIY
After 7 pallets and a few months working on clearing my side yard hillside of shrubs, excavating four tiers of dirt, and laying over 250 stones, I made a tiered garden in a part of my yard that was previously useless. For those penny pinchers like me, note that the cost per block coverage is very reasonable when considering each blocks coverage of 27" X 6.5" (18" long plus 9" gap x 6.5" tall rise). Here's some tips; get help. I did this myself and took way longer than necessary. These stones ... read more are about 40 lbs each, and it doesn't get easier the further up the slope you go. Even though the manufacturer only suggests leveling sand, it is very necessary for anyone who is a weekend DIYer. If that base course is level, you are good to go. My only complaint about this particular retaining wall block is the uneven surface on the top of each stone that the next course of blocks rest upon. It ultimately didn't matter if that base course was fine since gravity does the work of rocking the stones into their most level position, but for a first timer, this felt unsettling as I was building. My walls are all around 3ft tall. The ratio to follow is 2:1 deep to tall (I had to fudge a little bit to save some trees). Also note that drainage is not necessary (at least on smaller walls like mine) due to the soil retaining nature of the blocks. There is very little hydrostatic pressure since the retained dirt is exposed in the block pockets. Happy Building!

Great product, looks good, durable, very heavy
I've used these blocks for retaining walls in two areas of my sloped back yard. The first area has been in for over 12 years and looks great and functions perfectly. The larger wall is over 30 feet long and about four feet high, and it's about 2 years old now. I love that the flowers and other plants I've put in are filling in the dirt spaces between the blocks. Before I had nothing but ice plant (pickleweed) on the hillside, and it was ugly. Now I have different plants and colorful flowers. ... read more That's the biggest difference between these blocks and the others. Installation was technically easy, but physically very demanding. These blocks are really heavy. I didn't have help for the first wall, but absolutely needed it for the 30 foot wall. Once the first course is down and level, installation is just a matter of stacking the blocks and filling them in. There will be some dirt spillage between the blocks, and it may continue for years afterward, so choose carefully where you want to put them. After a few years the plants will grow around and between, almost completely covering the blocks, so they are perfect for a hillside retaining wall system.
