    Easy to Install and use
My son was working on his Boy Scout Eagle Project, providing a new community vegetable garden and shed. He had some money left over, and his clients had a wish list item of rain barrels to collect roof water to use to water the new garden. He used the extra money to purchase 2 rain barrels. It was easy to follow the directions and install them, thanks to the provision of the required drills for cutting the drain pipe. They filled quickly and easily after the first rainfall. The client intends to ... read more purchase more units, and install drip lines on timers to maximize the use of the rain barrels.

    Overall good value
Sturdy product with good quality parts. Installation is somewhat complex. The instructions are helpful and detailed, but I recommend reading through them once or twice before starting assembly since it involves precise measurement and drilling to complete correctly. Once it is installed, it works perfectly. Main spigot is located midway up the barrel, so it must be filled more than halfway before it can be used. Also has a drain on the bottom with no shut-off valve, so it is only useful for a ... read more hose with a nozzle. If connected to a drainpipe that feeds from several roof surfaces, the 45 gallon barrel will be full with one good rain event.

    This is the best
Everything you need comes in the box. I put mine up on some concrete blocks so it sits about two feet off the ground. Easy to set up. I got it set up and it didn't rain for two weeks. lol But then we got a little 20 minute shower and the barrel fills up fast. I was concerned because I was setting it up in full sun. I thought the rainwater would heat up but it doesn't. I bought the tan color and even on hot days the water comes out cool for my garden. Don't know what your water bill is but ... read more Detroit is sky high so I will take free water anytime I can get it. I will be purchasing more of these soon.

    Good rain barrel.
Well made rain barrel. Set to take water from a roof valley near our garage. A 1.5 inch rain filled the barrel.

    LUV this rain barrel
I love the look of this rain barrel on my back porch. I just set it for rainfall coming off the corner, we don't have downspouts, and it worked just fine. It filled up fast, too. Looks so much better than buckets sitting around, catching rainwater. My plants like the rainwater, and getting ready for another hot, dry summer, truly every little bit counts. Plus, I get exercise walking back and forth watering my plants. I would much rather be outside, than in the gym:)

    Nice looking rain barrel!
We already had two rain barrels made from food-grade containers, but wanted 'prettier' looking rain barrels this time around since they're going to be more exposed to the back yard. There is a plug in the very bottom of one of the 'legs' which will allow us to completely drain the barrels at the end of the season for storage, plus an overflow drain at the top. We like this one so much we ordered another and now have a total of four! It really helps our raised bed garden to have a plentiful ... read more supply of water available. Awesome product
This rain barrel came with everything I needed for a great price. I hooked my rain barrel up to my shed. Living in Oregon, it filled in 2 days off of 20 square feet of roof space. It is so easy to set up. I stacked 12 by 12 bricks under my barrel. I do recommend plumbers putty at the spigot. This one has a brass spigot, plastic ones don't last. After testing this one, I purchased another one and linked them together. Again, very easy for a 45 year old female. I hooked up a garden hose to mine. I ... read more love conserving water. It is a great investment. This is a must purchase. I believe we can all start conserving more water in this country!

    best way to store water
With this drought, we needed something to store our water in till its needed. This fits the bill. While waiting for the water to warm up in sinks and showers, we catch it in a bucket. Then dump the water in the rain barrel. When its time to water the roses, I fill up another bucket and away I go. Based on the other reviews, we used plumbers tape when screwing in the spigot. No problems and no leaks. The rectangle screen on top keeps the debris & bugs out. The flat back makes it so that its flush ... read more against the house. We plan on buying 3 more, if it ever rains again, then hook them up to the downspouts.

Does what it is supposed to do.
I hooked this up so that it captures the water from both the air conditioner condensation and the the roof gutter downspout. The quality and size seem adequate so far. The real test will be during a dry summer. But I am hopeful that with the A/C drain and our substantial humidity here in Houston, TX there will be enough water even during a dry summer and little rain. I read that other reviewers had trouble inserting the drain spigot, so I wrapped the threads in plumbers Teflon tape and then use ... read more extra care putting it in. No problems with that.

    Whiskey Barrel
Product works great. The only concern is during heavy heavy period of rain. When the barrel is full, the overflow connector on the down spout can not handle large amounts of water flow. This results in overflow from the connector. Water will gush out. Again, the product should be placed on a down spout that doesn't move large amounts of water.

pretty good, with a few exceptions
Overall, these are pretty nice rain barrels. They don't look nearly as much like real wood as the picture shows. No real variation in color. They are obviously resin, but attractive nonetheless. One thing to note for those of you considering purchase....the rain barrel is meant to be on the same side of your house as the downspout, and the diverter can only accommodate this configuration, as the holes for the tubing come directly off of the short side of the downspout. This caused a problem for ... read more me due to the configuration of my house. It still worked, but the hose had to be curved into a U shape, which is not as ideal for water flow. Consider your own particular layout before purchase.

Love It!!! SOOOO may Compliments !!
This was the best rain barrel yet and we have several. The Rain barrel is attractive and so very useful. People walking by comment on it.. ask where we got it. I have recommended it to my daughters. It was easy to set up and it supplies my garden with rain water instead of tap water.

    Doen't fit Fiskars
This spigot doesn't fit the Fiskars Holden rain barrel with molded-in threads; the Fiskars threads are 3/4 hose thread and this spigot has 3/4 pipe thread. I bought an MHT to FPT adapter to make it fit.

Best Spigot and Drain made for rain barrels!
After reading other product reviews, I knew I needed to upgrade my rain barrel spigot but I was leery of which one to get. Look no further than this model. This upgrade kit works perfectly. Other models crack, leak, or are made of flimsy plastic pieces. This model is heavy duty and even easier to install than the original pieces due to its quality. Check out my picture if you want to see it in action.

    Great spigot/drain for rain barrel
After reading some reviews, I bought this spigot at the same time that I purchased the rain barrel. I wouldn't say it was easy to install because it was very tight. But it wasn't that hard either. Because the spigot and drain have a very tight fit to the rain barrel, they don't leak at all. They give the rain barrel a quality look and feel. I've used them many times and they don't drip or leak at all.

GREAT product for a small area or just to use as an End Table on your deck or porch!
Really the best solution for small areas. We have it on our patio but since the diverter included continued to overflow, clog, eventually froze and broke, we replaced it with the Basic RainReserve Diverter Kit. Now we have no overflowing water issues, no leaves or debris to clean out of the downspout and diverter! Really LOVE that these Rescue products are MADE IN PENNSYLVANIA out of 100 percent Food-Grade Plastic and 25% of that is RECYCLED!!!

    Good, basic rain barrel!
I was looking for something that wouldn't look too garish or an obvious imitation of something it wasn't. This unit came with a great price, with a simple design and a nice, compact size (squat enough to actually fit underneath my raised home), yet with a good capacity. I installed two in series. My only (minor) gripes: the downspout adapter is white and rectangular...I have dark bronze, round downspouts, so I had to buy another adapter. But I knew that going in. And the spigots are pretty ... read more low-flowing. I suspect I'll replace them with a higher-flow valve. All-in-all, I'm quite pleased!

Wrong instructions make installation more difficult
I just received this rain collector today and installed it right before a storm. The installation instructions for this model were for the larger 60 gallon urn model which is 43 inches tall compared with this model which is 23 inches tall. A hole must be drilled into the barrel for the diverter hose. Since the instructions measure the drill point from the top of the larger model, care should be taken to correctly line up the diverter unit hole with his model before drilling the hole. Also, the ... read more instructions say to cut one inch out of the pre-existing downs spout. I had enough space between the ground and the bottom of the down spout so I was able to fit the diverter without the second cut.

How slow does it flow? Slow, slow, slow, slow!
I would recommend this rain barrel, but with one caveat. And that, my fellow Home Depot shopper, is to replace the spigot with a better quality one. Ours arrived with a hole in the spigot. No problem...the manufacturer sent a new one. Well they both had incredibly slow water flow coming out of it. It seemed like it took forever and a day to fill my big watering can. We went online and bought another spigot that works infinitely better. I give this barrel high marks for looks and capacity. ... read more One good rain and the barrel was full. Excellent. We shall see how it holds up to the seasons here in VA.

    Sandstone Rain Barrel
This is a very nice large rain barrel with high aesthetic appeal. I was looking for one with > 50 gallon capacity and a brass spigot, that didn't look like a cheap plastic barrel. This one met my criteria so I bought it while there was an online discount offer. I'm very pleased with it. I wanted a barrel to catch some water off the roof to keep it out of our window well. We have had enough rain so far this spring/summer that I haven't had to use any other water source for my birdbaths, pots, ... read more and baskets. I have had to drain some water from the barrel several times to make room for more rainwater. A tenth of an inch of rain on my roof fills the barrel, however. I had expected it to take more rain than that to fill it up.

    Very Nice Rain Barrel
Arrived quickly to begin with which is always a plus when buying remotely, and is a very nice looking barrel. Made of heavy plastic, looks to be strong enough to last for some time and the stone look is well done, making for a pleasant looking barrel by the house. It is amazing how quickly it fills - about 2/10" of rain does the trick. The spigot is solidly installed and accepts a standard water hose thread. Already thinking about getting another one. (A diverter kit is extra) We like it!

    Good product for the money
We purchased 2 rainbarrels and connected them, very easy to install. They both fill after a 20 minute rainfall. Due to lack of pressure, it takes a long time to fill a bucket/watering can from the spigot, so I find it just easier to fill by removing the lid and filling the bucket from the top. The spigot however is not metal (as it looks in the picture) it is plastic. I will definitely replace it because after only a few times of using it, it is dripping. After 3 months of having these barrels, ... read more they are still working great, now I just need some rain!!! A good value for the money.

great rain barrell - love it!
Great rain barrell. Very easy to install and comes with the drill bit to attach to your power drill. I love that this has a built in gutter diverter that sends the water back down the gutter when the barrell is full. There are even 2 spouts so you can connect your hose and still have a spout for a bucket or watering can. Solid product and easy to install. It even has a winterizer cap for the winter when you disconnect the barrell.

    Great, as always
After much searching for the rain harvesting system, we decided to try the EarthMindedRainStation and I couldn't be happier with it, with maybe one exception. The product is well made, sturdy, comes complete with all tools for set-up (which is great). I just wish they had included a stronger spout, since the plastic one included, once opened, drips and you have to be cautious about not over tightening as I think it may break. That we will replace; but overall I will purchase more of these to conserve water.
