    Very satisfied
Just purchased this fall to be ready for winter power outages. I have used it already. I wired in a transfer switch in my house to make it easier to hook up the generator when needed. They work great together. I have not purchased a battery for the electric start feature yet, But the generator started on the second or third pull. The handle and wheels were very easy to assemble and make it very easy to move from the detached garage to the house when the need arises. I love that it is LP gas ... read more powered because your gas will not go bad. Unlike regular gasoline these days which seems to gum up a lot of small engine carburetors. Would definitely recommend this generator.

    7kw Propane generator
I haven't had to use it for a storm yet, but i have test fired it and used it to run a 220 air compressor a few times. Right out of the box, put the wheels, handle and oil in it and it ran without issues. I look forward to it being ready to run when I need it. Propane is a much better choice for devices like this due to it requiring no special storage because of the fuel going bad. Great price for a great tool.

    Very good value
When I tell people how much I paid for this, they can't believe it. Has 13 hp engine, so needs a good pull to start if you don't install a battery to electric start. Bought if for emergency power for our house. We're apparently on the end of the power circuit, so not uncommon to loose power for several hours. Don't have to worry about gasoline going bad or a fouled carburetor. Has power to spare to run gas furnace and gas water heater, microwave, refrigerator, smoke alarms, and a few plug and light circuits.

    Does the trick
Bought and installed this and a reliance power transfer kit from Home Depot last summer.Had to use it for two days during Sandy.Always starts on third pull and have had no problems so far.I ran my 220 well, fridge, heater,tv,washer,pc and whole bunch of other electric stuff around house.Should have done this years ago.

    Fantastic Generator
We had a major wind/thunderstorm 5 days ago and wound up buying this generator without doing any research because it was the only thing available. Well, it has not let us down. After getting the unit home at 11:00 PM and assembling it by flashlight, we filled it with oil and gas and on the 2nd pull, it started, and it has been running for 107 hours straight and will probably have to run another 2 days before we get our power back. The unit has been powering my entire kitchen (fridge, microwave, ... read more coffee maker, oven, and lights. We cook with gas) In addition to that we've been running a 6500 BTU window air conditioner, another 5000 BTU air conditioner, two lap top computers as well as the modems and DSL units, 2 big box fans and more. It runs well beyond it stated capacity without any problem, and still goes for 8 hours on a tank of fuel. My son also bought one at the same time and his has performed under the same conditions and equally as well. All this in the middle of a heat wave of 90 degree plus X 5 days. I'm the kind of individual that usually researches everything thoroughly and am not afraid to spend a little extra to get a good product. This no name generator has left me completely amazed and very satisfied. Would recommend this unit without any reservations. Very, very pleased.

Seems too good to be real.
For 5000 watts, the price was very reasonable. The design and configuration of the generator is also very good and makes a lot of sense. The instructions were adequate, and starting the generator was relatively easy. It worked very well in a recent outage that lasted four days. It is loud, but not louder than other generators of its kind.

    Feature Packed Value
Before I purchased the Champion 3500/4000 I did a bit of research on a generator to run the 13500 BTU A/C in my class C motorhome,I wanted electric start and remote start. Looked at a Honda 3100,which for a additional 300-400 could be retrofitted with remote start.Made a trip to my local Honda dealer and they said bring the camper, they hooked up the 3100 and it would trip out overload as the caring load was only 2600 with a peak surge of 3100,back to the search. Found the Champion and while ... read more I've only used it for a couple of months now I do not have a single complaint, the generator performs as advertised and starts on the first attempt every time.

works just like its supposed to.
I unpacked this generator after being shipped.everything was there, nothing bent or broke.i had read horror storys on reviews but also more good ones, you tube had good reviews to.we bought a new toyhauler with no onboard generator.i did as instructed, put oil in[my oil, amsoil] put fuel in.stepped back 20ft hit the remote switch once and it started right now.only con so far is the oil dipstick position,to check oil level or add oil is a pain in the butt.other than that very happy.i saved $2500.00 ... read more from the on board gen. mounted up on rack next to batteries so the spot where the onboard would have went is now storage.the gen is also very quiet.

    best one i've owned yet
Wheels and handle went on easy. Added oil and gas then ran for a break in period. Took it with to deercamp during bow season for the first time. It had no problems with powering the 33;camper i have. Microwave,tv,furnace and coffee maker all with no issues. Tested it with A/C and microwave running and it handled them fine. Sound is quieter than the honda 5000 that i have used in the past. I am able to chain it to the tongue and watch tv while in the front bedroom at night. Excellent product so ... read more far and fantastic value compared to what I would have to spend buying one of the other "quiet" units from honda or yamaha.

    sua-5000
Seems to be a decent machine. Got it as a emergency home generator. Should be able to run frig, furnace and some lights for a 2400 sq. ft. home. Was looking for a 5000 watt surge generator, fuel efficient and affordable. Set it up and ran it for 1/2 hour with no load and 15 minutes with 2000 watts worth of halogen light and blow dryer. I wanted to see how it ran and also run the gas out of it before I put it away. It ran fine. It's not a top of the line machine. It is affordable, seems to be ... read more built well, should do the job that I got it for. ATTENTION: The run time @ 50% load advertised on Home Depot.com and on the A-iPower website states 13 Hours. In the manual and on the box it says 11 Hours. 4 gallons/ 13 hours= .31 gals/hr 4 gallons/ 11 hours= .36 gals/hr Not a big difference, but what is it really!!!!!!!! I would think the box and manual are correct.

    Our first generator
Very easy to assemble. Looks to be powerful. Love the fact it's on wheels. Have only had it for about a month. No reason to use it yet.

    Excellent generator
Easy to assemble. Started right up on the pull start. Needed to charge the battery but when changed, the electric start worked flawlessly. No missing parts and packaged well for delivery. It was easy to add the gas. Oil came with the unit and you just need a funnel to add it to the unit. Hooking the battery cables up took a little dexterity since it was in tight quarters. Overall, very satisfied with the unit and performance so far. Noise? I expected it to be louder but it was very acceptable. ... read more It has wheels and a pull handle that folds down. There is a release button that changes the handle position from down to pull position.

    Powerful
This thing is big. It's very powerful and provides ample wattage for normal use. The wheels are great for moving this generator around. I like that they are never flat wheels. I don't have to worry about storing the generator for a long time and the wheels would deflate. Fuel meter is excellent. I can see how much is runtime is left. Electric start makes it simple to use. Overall, it's a great generator for everyday purpose.

    Works great
got it at Home Depot during recent power outage. Works great was able to power all home needs. I am going to have it permanently installed with switch and it own panel. should have enough power to run refrigerators well pump water heater and some lights. During recent use had to run extension cords ran lights 2 refrigerators freezer , TV , lights up stairs and 2 c-pap machines Never went over 30 percent power and got 17 hr on one tank of gas only issue no inverted so could not run computers

    Started right up!
It took me a while to assemble, only because I'm female and 74 years old. It is truly heavy but moves nicely on the wheels once you get them on. I hooked it up to a propane tank, added oil and it started right up. I hope I never need it, but living in Florida I wanted something for those unexpected no electricity times. We do not have natural gas, but I'm sure it operates just as well on gasoline.

Nice Generator but double check battery measurements. Battery Cables should be a bit longer.
Generator cranked on the first pull right out of the box. Do not order the battery Home Depot suggests for this generator. It doesn't fit. I had to order the correct size from Batteries Plus as per my conversation with a rep from the manufacturer. Its a smaller dimension battery. The manufacturer should had installed longer battery cables. Even with the correct size battery the cables were very hard to hook up, the cables barely reached. This process, which should had been the simplest was kind ... read more of a pain in the neck to hook up. Everything else about the generator is awesome. Glad I got it!!! PS The battery is just for the key start feature it still runs fine without the battery.

    So far Great
I wanted a generator that would run on anything but , mostly NG. If you are hooking to house NG then do Not use the regulator as instructed as house is already at correct pressure. So after removing the regulator it runs great, nice and smooth, did not smell any fumes at all. I want even try gas unless i move and no need for propane. Unit is very heavy.

    Setup review only
Bought this gen this morning, not because of an emergency but because we budgeted to add one this year and today was the day. It's heavy... Home Depot was happy to help me get it in the van, gravity helped me unload it when I got home. You'll probably want an extra set of hands there as well. Setup was incredibly simple. Two wheels to bolt on, not a bunch of baggies of little parts to weed through, the axles had their own washers/nuts already on... just take them off, slide the wheel on, and ... read more put the washers/nuts right back where they came from. Instructions give the sizes for ratchet needed but I just used crescent wrenches. Wheels and front end stand took 5 minutes to install. Next you have to connect the negative terminal on the battery to complete the circuit (if you want to use the electric start feature) - this took 60 seconds. Finally add oil and fuel. Oil is included in the box. Instructions say a funnel is optional... due to the angle of the oil port and location of the tire, I couldn't do it without a funnel because I was spilling oil. Get a funnel or makeshift one. 15 minutes after cutting open the box I was turning the key and the engine immediately cranked up and ran smooth. Not a single complaint. It's not even as loud as I was expecting for this big of a gen. Can't comment on power or durability yet, but I trust the Briggs & Straton brand and expect no abnormal issues. If it fails when I end up needing, I will re-review it. I'm happy with this purchase and am ready for storm season.

    Reliable
I use this for emergency power in my residence. I make sure to start is twice a year and put a load on the output. It starts with a touch of the key and is much quieter than friend's emergency generators. I am very happy with this unit.

    Excellent portable generator
I purchased this generator November 2011. This unit is well built and nicely designed. Assembly took one person (me) about 20 minutes. I have been running this generator once per week for testing. Electric starts are almost instant. A key item for me was compatibilily with my APC Smart UPS 1500 backup systems that I use for my computers and aquariums (fish die with no power for heat and filtration). No problems running the three UPS units from the generator. The generator came with everything ... read more needed to setup the generator (battery, oil, etc.). I purchased a plastic cover to keep the generator clean (Classic Accessories Generator Cover size Large) and a 300 Lumen Forehead Bonfire head strapped light to work on the generator in the dark. I have not yet wired this generator into my house and this is the next step. For now I have run four 120v 12g extension cords thru a taped window as I don't want to try to figure this out in the dark in a snow storm. I have purchased a Reliance Controls Q410C to use as the transfer switch. Now to find a reasonbly priced electrician and this has been the biggest challenge. Overall I really like this generator and I recommend it to anyone who needs a solid 7500 watt generator under $1000.00.

    Great little generator
Needed something quick and cheap to get us through a week without power. Was able to run our refrigerator, gas hot water heater, and various lights with no problem. I would highly recommend this to anyone!

    Prelimanary review
I haven't used this unit yet, and if I don't, I'll be happy! It will be used only for power outages, but I'm confident it will do the job. I ran it for a couple hours and I connected up the essentials; My pellet stove, refrigerator, a couple lights and communications stuff. It runs smooth and adjust quickly to changes in load. It is also quieter than most. The apparent quality is as good as units costing much more. The reliability and invisible quality remain to be seen . . .

    Smarter Tools 2.3KW Gasoline Generator
I used this genenerator for powering a saw and drill. The product did admirably well. I would highly recommend the product to anyone and I expect to have many good years of service from it. Thanks for a good deal, too!
