Power when there is no power
This is a 5000 Running Watts/6250 Starting Watts, Gas Powered Portable Generator with a manual recoil starter. The fuel tank holds 7 gallons and has a gauge so you know how much fuel is left. The generator also has a low oil shutdown feature. It comes with a 10 inch Never Go Flat Wheel Kit. It has 6 each 120V AC 20 AMP GFCI Receptacles, 1 each 120V/240V AC 30 AMP Locking Receptacle. It uses push-to-reset circuit breakers and on/off fuel valve. The receptacles have rubber covers hinged at top of ... read more receptacles to protect them while not in use. The unit came with the oil already in it. The oil stick is conveniently located and easy to unscrew. The pull rope, at the wheel kit end of the unit, is a little awkward to pull because it sits so close to one of the framing bars. The choke lever is plastic and feels a little flimsy. The engine starts fairly easily after turning on the engine switch. The engine purrs and is surprisingly quiet, maybe in part due to the low tone muffler technology. Using power tools too far away for a power cord to reach is so enjoyable because the unit’s power does such a good job -- you hear almost no rev-up action when tools are turned on. We can normally use four tools simultaneously without overloading the generator. The wheels roll easily and with the very sturdy pull handle the unit can be moved easily, even over rugged terrain. I also will use the unit to power selective appliances in my home during power outages. At 5000 running watts, I feel it does not justify trying to use this unit as a whole house backup with a transfer switch system. I feel you can easily overload the generator in this situation. I truly love this generator, feel it is very high quality and a very well thought out design. I trust Briggs and Stratton engines a lot. I give the unit a 5 star rating and will highly recommend it to friends

    Great unit
We bought this as a power source for our remote cabin. It works perfectly for what we need . It is a bit louder than expected, but it puts out a lot of power. No regrets here

Ready for the next big outage
It's been a long while since we've had a prolonged power outage, but the next one we will have power. All the directions for starting it up are printed on the top of the machine (turn on switch, turn gas valve on, turn to choke, pull rope). On the side of the machine are the watt values of various items (fridge 700, tv 500, microwave 1000, cell phone 25) so you can tell if you can add another appliance and stay below the 5000 watts that the machine is rated. It will be nice to be able to ... read more run the blower on the wood stove and be able to heat things up in the microwave when the power goes out. I found it a bit hard pulling the cord to get it started. Most gas powered items make the cord longer than a woman's arms so we have a harder time getting the cord pulled to the max and have a harder time starting them. Once started, it ran smoothly. Even though it was setting on concrete, it did not vibrate or move around.

    quiet generator
Out of the box, after adding oil, it started on the second pull and was ready to work. It does not run anywhere near as high of RPMs as ones I have had in the past. It is also much quieter than my other 1500 watt generator Plugged a drill and a table saw in to it and pulled around 11 amps and it worked perfectly. It has four 120-Volt receptacles, but does not include a 12v charging output. The fuel tank is a gallon, which lasts about 8 hours during normal use. It does come supplied ... read more with a jug of engine oil, so make sure you pick one up when you pick up the generator.

Portable. Easy 1-pull recoil start. Runs quiet.
This generator comes fully-assembled. Construction is all metal with a tubular frame, and the size is about equal to that of a small microwave oven. The installation instructions state that oil is included, but it was not included, however you do receive a spark plug removal tool. The instructions cover several models of generator, some of which have a wheel kit, and some which require an acid battery for operation, neither of which is included or required for use of this generator. While the ... read more instructions contained helpful information, I would have preferred if they were specific for this generator. Since there’s a separate reservoir for oil, no need to mix gas and oil. 20 ounces of 10w30 motor oil is required for operation. There is no fuel gauge. The 98 cc engine is equipped with a low-oil shut down and an automatic voltage regulator that the manufacturer claims delivers cleaner, more reliable power and protection against surges. The control panel located in the front of the generator has 2 - 20-volt 20 amp standard outlets. The recoil pull start is easy to operate, usually turn the engine over on the first or second pull. Noise level is low and very tolerable. I was standing next to the generator and hblem carrying on a normal conversation. The generator burned clean and did not produce and dirty or smelly emissions. This generator isn’t designed to power delicate electronics, but it will provide power to things such as a refrigerator, A/C, space heater, television and components, lamps, small power tools, a radio and a toaster. Overall, this is a nice little generator. The build quality is excellent, and it includes features found in more expensive units. The small footprint and weight at only 51 lbs. makes this unit very portable and is a perfect size for tailgating or emergencies and as a source of power. See my video demonstrating the starting procedure for this generator.

    Not bad at all
    - Excellent price for a solid minigen, and CARB - Not sold for its muffling, ,but pretty quiet nonetheless - Missing diagram, no oil, no funnel; mine has an odd high pitch vibration I wasn't expecting much for the price and for an open generator, but I'm pretty impressed with this. It arrived well packed and protected, with detailed instructions not necessarily listed in order of use; all parts are numerically listed on a legend, but my manual does not have a diagram -- the only important ... read more things to know: the oil drain plug is in the back, the oil fill plug and dipstick is in the front, and the fuel cock is on the left side, upper left corner above the starter handle, and the choke is immediately above the air filter. Oil the filter, add oil (it is shipped empty and without a bottle nor funnel,) gas, close the air, flip the fuel cock, flip the "on" switch on the front panel, pull the cord once -- then open the air. It seems to provide fairly steady power for a non-computer-controlled unit but I'd be hesitant to hook up sensitive electronics to this. I'm getting a true 16 running amps from this, and it's got a pretty decent muffler on it. Mine has a high frequency, high pitched vibration I can't isolate, but I don't think it's from the engine itself. Otherwise the shock system is pretty responsive and effective. Someone makes tents for at least 3k open generators which are well worth his price, canvas with fitted openings for included pvc framing; the large one I bought years ago dwarfs this generator but it does the trick. I'd done a lot of paint stripping with an orbital sander using another rural box store's 3k without the tent; I'm still trying to get all the dust out of it so it might start again. If you love this thing, use dino oil first, then change it out with synthetic -- theoretically the dino oil will plug any seepage points the thinner synthetic might find. Very pleasantly pleased with this.

Purchased this after Hurricane Irene so we can run our refridgerators and freezer (lost lots of food). This generator was easily assembled and started like a champ. Runs quieter than my neighbors gas generator and seems to be built sturdier. Used this at the recent Chili Festival and never had a hickup (ran for 6 or so hours). Worth the extra cost for a propane generator and Generac's name/quality. It was also packaged well and Home Depot got it here in 3 days.

    Well made
Solid build quaility, reasonably easy assembly of wheels and propane tank holder. The first start took several pulls, but then started and ran smoothly. Noise level seems similar to gasoline units of similar power output. I got it to power the essentials at home during blackouts, so I'm hoping I never need it! This region was hit with widespread and extended power outages in Oct 2011, and many people with gasoline generators had a hard time getting fuel. That's why I opted for easy to store ... read more propane. The choke lever is a little hard to find, but that's a minor gripe.

I ordered this generator after the big Haloween storm of 2011 had most of my part of New England in the dark. As soon as I opened the box I was impressed by the sturdy heavy duty construction. It was easy to assemble and fired right up. I lost power last night around 1 AM, temp around 15 degrees. The generator fired right up and i went back to bed nice and warm. Absolutely what I was looking for and runs all my 110V needs.

    Best generator ever
Filled with full synthetic 10/30 Mobil oil. Ran for 6 days straight to fill a huge pond on our Ranch and ran some lights in the cabin. The only time it ever stopped running, was when I filled it up with Gas/Petrol again 13 hours later. We could hardly hear it in our cabin on the Ranch. This generator ran for 6 days straight without as much as a miss or a hiss. I am in the process of purchasing another 3 of these generators. If they put this generator on special again for $399 I will purchase 5 ... read more of them foreshore. Over the past 9 years I owned 14 generators from generac to Ridgid to Powermate to Briggs and Stratton and nothing beats this nothing beats this.

    Instruction book bad
Have not had a chance to use it yet but at this time I feel it will be fine. The instruction book was very bad. Good thing I am mechanically inclined or it might not get put together right. Oh. battery is not included but they have an MSDS to download which led me to believe it had one.

    Quiet little generator
Got this generator to charge a PV battery bank, it is very quiet and I have had no issues and its been in service for 4 weeks now. My only issue was the cosmetic damage to the generator that was apparently done before it even went in the crate. Based on the time its been in service I would buy another Lifan generator. The spec sheets show it to be a 30 amp max generator but in reality and on the Lifan power website its max is 26.7 amps, that was ok for my use but could be a deal breaker for another use.

    9,000-Watt 15-HP Tri-Fuel Electric Start Portable Generator
As long as you overlook minor details, such as the minimum oil level being quoted in Fluid Ounces, instructions failing to mention how to affix the wheels and support blocks, a missing hexagonal nut and washers etc then the overall product was very good and started on second pull (once the fuel tap was turned on (ok - another thing they don't tell you about). But this product clearly is'nt made for those who don't know one end of a socket wrench from another so that's ok.

    So far Great
I wanted a generator that would run on anything but , mostly NG. If you are hooking to house NG then do Not use the regulator as instructed as house is already at correct pressure. So after removing the regulator it runs great, nice and smooth, did not smell any fumes at all. I want even try gas unless i move and no need for propane. Unit is very heavy.

    Started right up!
It took me a while to assemble, only because I'm female and 74 years old. It is truly heavy but moves nicely on the wheels once you get them on. I hooked it up to a propane tank, added oil and it started right up. I hope I never need it, but living in Florida I wanted something for those unexpected no electricity times. We do not have natural gas, but I'm sure it operates just as well on gasoline.

    Awesome Generator
Very fast shipping, easy to assemble, very easy to start especially for the remote control option, don't have to go outside in bad weather to start or stop generator. Very easy to move around with hand truck design. I know this will be a good purchase for me when I need to use it. Quality construction.

    Solid Machine
The Only thing I wasn't expecting was the weight but after getting it out of the box and seeing just how well this thing is put together I knew why the weight was there. Assembly was easy, through the tires on and put on the front bump stand then all that was left battery, gas, and oil. After getting it put together it was started right up with just a few pulls. I also tested how this it worked with the remote start and no surprise that it started up with the first pull. This guy is a work horse ... read more and I look forward to putting it through its tracks.

    Forman Generator
The generator assembled very easily. I added the oil and fuel, installed the battery, put in the fuel, turned the key on and it started immediately. Works great

I run small restaurant When power out, I use this generator to connect 2 freezers and 4 refregeraters and internet and some light. it works great to protect my food.

    Good so far
I haven't had a chance to really use it. Just ran it a couple time to get the oil and gas through it. Powered a light while working of the panel of the garage.

Seems to be a decent machine. Got it as a emergency home generator. Should be able to run frig, furnace and some lights for a 2400 sq. ft. home. Was looking for a 5000 watt surge generator, fuel efficient and affordable. Set it up and ran it for 1/2 hour with no load and 15 minutes with 2000 watts worth of halogen light and blow dryer. I wanted to see how it ran and also run the gas out of it before I put it away. It ran fine. It's not a top of the line machine. It is affordable, seems to be ... read more built well, should do the job that I got it for. ATTENTION: The run time @ 50% load advertised on Home Depot.com and on the A-iPower website states 13 Hours. In the manual and on the box it says 11 Hours. 4 gallons/ 13 hours= .31 gals/hr 4 gallons/ 11 hours= .36 gals/hr Not a big difference, but what is it really!!!!!!!! I would think the box and manual are correct.

    Great for price
Wanted a electric start but it pull starts on first pull once it has been started initially. The XG series is made in USA, thats why I bought XG instaed of GP series which is made in China. It delivers consistent 120 / 240 volts seems to be well built.
