Great Generator for Travel Trailer
First off, lets say I was a bit hesitant about purchasing a large generator online, and of which I knew little to nothing about the manufacturer and/or overall quality of the product. But lets say, I was pleasantly suprised.
Shipping - The generator was delivered (fairly quickly - seems like it took about 7 business days from ordering to delivery) in a large, high-quality, heavy duty box, and was in immaculate condition. I know some reviews have said the box and unit arrived in less than

desirable condition(s), but I equate this to the shipper and not the overall manufacturing process.
Unit - Upon removal and inspection, the generator was seen to be housed within a heavy duty, sound proof containment system which is solid in construction and quality of materials. I will caution you that this generator tips the scale at/around the 130 - 150lbs, so if you are looking for a lightweight unit, this is not the case (but then again any 3000+ watt generator is going to push the scales at these weights, so you should not be suprised). The generator was already pre-assembled, and comes mounted on 4 (very small) casters. I am thinking that this is one area that LIFAN USA missed the mark, as most individuals are going to exclusively use these when wheeling around to place into position, and if your area is not paved, then these will be un-usable as current. As I am using this unit to power a travel trailer, I don't feel this is a big issue for my application, but others may want to review if this is a problem on their end.
Use/inital operation- READ THE OWNERS MANUAL (a bit lacking for some I am sure, but if you have any technical knowledge, you can figure it out rather quickly)as a few things need to be inspected and checked prior to start-up.
1 - Negative battery cable will need to be installed (open the left hatch with the supplied screw driver and install);
2 - Air filter assembly will need to be removed, inspected, and re-installed (also contained within left hatch and accessed by removing 3 smaller screws);
3- Oil level will need to be inspected and adjusted accordingly (open small right hatch and pull dip stick) - one word of caution, is the unit comes with oil in it, but NOT ENOUGH to get the generator running (unit has low-oil shut off). You will need to have a QT (or 2) of 10W-30 4-stroke motor oil handy, and add via the supplied plastic oil can until level is 1/2 way up the dip stick. Failure to do so will not allow for the motor to start, and you will eventually cause problems to the electric starter unit;
4- Add 87 octane unleaded fuel;
5- Turn gas Valve to on position;
6- Install Key and turn to start
I have read a few reviews that state an issue with the generator seeming like it is being starved for fuel, but from my point of view, I think it is one of two things (and/or a combination of both):
1 - Not enough oil was added and/or
2 - Fuel valve was left in closed (off) position
It should also be mentioned that this generator also comes with a remote start feature which is not discussed in the owners manual, but here is how you utilize:
1 - flip the toggle switch on front labled "remote start" to the "on" position;
2 -on key chain starters, hit the small start button 2 times consecutively. (To stop via remote) hit the large button with the lock picture on it.
For those interested on the range of the remote start item, I have been at least 75' from the generator and been able to start via the remote, I have also been able to use this feature when in my trailer (great option) and not in direct sight of the generator.
Output - As stated I purchased this unit to supplement my 26' travel trailer when on trips without electrical hook-up, and could not be more suprised. The online data states 3,600 Watts, but you should be cautioned as this is the surge wattage, and the actual running wattage is 3000 Watts. That being said, this generator is able to consecutively run my 13,500 BTU AC, all lights (internal/external), microwave oven, radio, tv, stove top and bathroom fans, etc. So I am more than happy. As for the reviews stating it could not run their AC units, I find this statement hard to believe, as my generator did not even change output idle speed when I turned the AC unit on.
Noise Level - As stated in the online literature this unit is rated for between 57-59 dB @ 23', and my overall impression is this is a TRUE statement. With the generator running full operational speed and with all electrical components on my trailer in use, you can have a normal converstaion right next to generator with no need to yell. I have also experienced that with the generator running and when placed directly outside my trailer, the noise is almost non-existent when inside. So I would rate this unit as 100% campground friendly, and have yet to have any complaints when in use.
Accessories - Generator comes with everything you need (minus oil and gas) to get up and operation as well as to perform any basic maintenance. (2) remote start key fobs, oil add can, multi-use screw driver, spark plug wrench, battery teminal connectors, extra fuses, and 30amp RV plug adapter.
Overall Impression - This is a great quality generator that rivals anything produced by Honda and Yamaha at 1/3 of the cost. If you are looking for an super-quiet, well built, inverter generator and don't want to waste your money, look no further.
