Synthetic, is the only oil for all lawn equipment. I use it in every gas engined thing that I own. (Car's included.) It is clean, (older mowers quit smoking when the oil was changed to synthetic.)
Rule 1) Break the engine in on standard oil, so that the rings and valves will seat. (I use about 8,000 miles for cars, and about 1 year for lawn equipment, using standard "mineral" oil.)
Rule 2) Change synthetic a bit less often than Mineral oil, but do change it, (Crankcase.)

I can find, for mixing on 2 cycle engines. I wish that it didn't have the mixed "mineral oil" with it, (that forms ash in the engine,) BUT, AS SAID; IT'S THE BEST THAT I CAN FIND THROUGH "RETAIL OUTLETS!"
