Added beauty to an older deck
Parts of my deck are newer than others, and I wanted to give it some color (as well as protect it) while still showing the natural grain of the wood. I chose the transparent stain, thinking it would achieve the look I wanted. After cleaning the wood, I began to apply the stain. While easy to apply, I initially felt it was a little too thin and watery, at first producing drips and color variations. I would have preferred it to be closer to the consistency of paint. As I continued, I was more ... read more careful and experimented with different rollers and brushes until I solved the problem. Funny, the color variations ended up working in my favor as the finished deck looks very natural. The stain actually looks better on the older wood than on the newer. I am very happy with the finished product, and after a recent rain, the water beaded on the wood showing me it is protected as well as beautiful.

    Great product...Easy to use!
We have a 12x12 unfinished deck that has been exposed to the Florida elements for almost three years. The color degraded to an ugly gray. We bought a pressure washer which made the deck look new again, but we don’t want to have to pressure wash several times a year to maintain the look. We decided to stain it using the maple brown stain. It turned out beautifully. The color is not too dark and works well with our woodland cedar-stained Adirondack chairs. The stain was very easy to apply using ... read more the Linzer 5” brush with the extension pole. Keep in mind it's a little watery so use sparingly so you can catch drips. We'll see how the deck holds up in the hot, wet summer months, but right now we're very happy.

Refreshed the security light pole system
Gotta love it used it first to refresh the security pole /light colored the wood with deep maple color and it soaked into the wood evenly and restored the pole and painted also the concrete base and going to see over the next year of PUNishing Texas sun to evaluate it's Texas ability then post an update

    Par excellent!
My husband is a builder of walkways..they are all around our property..and when it comes time to give them a facelift I want something that looks good but stands up to Mother Nature. something Im not re painting all the time. Behr never lets me down. Quality and a mi-rad of colors. There is always something new to tickle my fancy!

Best stain I have ever used, A+A+
I have tried stains in the past just to find that in two years or so that the decks would need to be re-stained. I found this product at my local Home depot store and read the reviews that were highly talked about. So I thought I would give it a try. I am very pleased with the results, I don't have pictures to post but WOW I am very pleased at how it turned out. We live in the Midwest and have had snow and cold weather on it and it looks just like it did in the summer when it was applied. I have ... read more used interior and exterior paints by Behr and I will not use anything else but there products.

    Easy application, good coverage
We are building a pool cabana, and have used the solid stain on all painted surfaces. Painted the ceiling white with two coats, on a thin wooden sheathing material. The siding is rough cedar, which really benefits from the thin consistency of this product - it flows more easily into the rough texture than a thicker product would. Don't let the thin consistency fool you, this stain provides great color and coverage!

    Redwood stain came out great!
After searching "deck stain" reviews on-line, I decided to use F&P Redwood exterior stain from Home Depot for my wood deck. It applied nicely and was very easy to use. The final result was a professional looking stained/finished deck. A very worthwhile weekend project. I like it so much that I'm going to do my fence next (I came here to order another 5 gallon bucket). See my pictures for before and after results.

    Amazing product
My only regret is I listened to my friends and family and bought way too much! This goes on so easily, it does take about 48 hours to penetrate (dry) but it is worth the wait. My family told me it would take 10 gallons to cover my new deck, porch and railings. I am sure I will still have enough left of the first 5 gallon can to complete my picnic table and 3 Adirondac chairs. I probably won't even open the 2nd 5 gal. can! Clean up a breeze with soap and water.

    Great color and pentration
Looks even better after it dried. Used on a 42 foot porch, pagola and open area. All rough sawn cedar. What was surprising, applied the stain to the exposed area in the morning, but had a downpour in the evening. Did not have any stains on new concrete. Really happy with the job, but I'll have to order more to complete the job.

    Love this stain
I've used Thompson's for over 30 years, I have never been disappointed, it's easy to apply, and lasts for years.

    Now in colors.
I have been using regular Thompson's WaterSeal for decades,I know a decade is a long time but when you find a product that works you stick with it. I just put up a new fence and there is nothing uglier then a fence slowly turning gray.So I was going to water seal it but the boards natural colors were very inconsistent and varied widely. Harvest Gold looked like it would be a great color to apply to the fence. So with roller in hand off I went. The fence looks fantastic and is even in color not ... read more one board darker or lighter then the other. There is a 15 year warranty but I will still re apply in 5 to 7 years because of all the rain we get in the northwest. You really cant go wrong with Thompson's products and this one is Excellent.

    Very Pretty Color
I applied this stain to the flooring of a portion of my deck which is old and has many blemishes. At first I thought it was an inferior product because it wasn't covering up the wood. Then I realized I was using a short matted roller cover instead of a fluffy one. Once I changed roller covers, the stain went on so smooth and covered the old deck flooring with ease. The color is pretty, especially when the sun shines on it. I love that everything cleans up with soap and water. Because my deck is ... read more older, I will be applying another coat of stain. I think on a fairly new deck, one coat might be enough though. On the next section of decking, I plan on using this color for the steps and railings. I think I might buy some small paint pads to apply this stain with. I either didn't have the right brush for touch up spots or it doesn't apply well using a brush. I really won't know the answer to this issue until I start the next section. I gave it 5 stars because it is worthy of them. Only time will tell how it holds up or if it peels like other brands I have tried in the past. So far I am happy with this solid stain by Thompson.

    best deck sealer
I have been refinishing decks for over 20 years and haven't used any product that holds up like CWF UV. When I clean the decks with my pressure washer, there is a big difference in how easy it is to clean a deck that has been previously sealed with CWF UV. My personal deck on my home is 12 years old and I've used this product since new on it and it is still in very good shape.

Great buy on a great product!
We have been using Flood Cedar Translucent Stain on our log home and deck for years. Love the look and the ease of applying. Seems to last forever when out of the sun and elements. We do have to reapply about every 2 years to the side of our home and deck that get sun/snow/rain all year long and are not protected. At the sale price, we could not pass it up. What a great deal!

    Beautiful and effective
We've used this product for the past 3 years. It looks amazing (makes ordinary wood look rich and exotic) and so far seems to be protecting the wood on our deck very well.

    Great Product
I had been using an oil based sealer for the last 5 years with Ok results but when I ran out of it, I read the reviews about this product. I bought some and so far, it is excellent. Easy to apply, does not add any color to the deck and when dry, the water beads up on it which leaves me to believe it works great. I will now wait to see how long it lasts compared to the oil based product.

    Best deck protector
I found Moldex to be the best deck protection on the market. It looks great & lasts several years. Don't worry about the small orange bits that don't mix in, they disappear as it dries.

    excellent product
The best deck sealer available, lasts up to 4 years! Makes the wood look awesome! Looks very milky going on, but dries clear.

    Easy to use, looks great
We used this stain in solid Slate to stain our backyard fence. It was very easy to use, went on with just one coat and has made a beautiful and bold statement. I've never stained wood before and had no problems, anyone could use this.

    Work like a pro
I never stained a fence before until we moved to our new home. With my neighbor's recommendation, I bought this wood stain and was able to match the color my neighbor has. It's been over 6 months now, my fence still looks fabulous and looks like freshly stained. It works great, my brush and I work like a pro! I'll be painting inside my house this summer, I would diffidently use this brand again.

    Great Investment
We bought this paint to increase the life of our existing fence on the house we just purchased. Not only is it going to help us extend the life of the fence, it looks fantastic. As we started to paint a section of the fence our neighbors commented on how nice it looked as well. I can't wait to finish the entire yard. You won't regret this purchase and investment!!

Best Stain for my Outdoor Deck
We've used this exact stain on previous years. We have an outdoor redwood deck with direct exposure and this stain lasts for years. Staining it is a 2-person job. I've got 4-gallons because it's a large deck. The stain brushes on evenly and smoothly. You don't have to mix or shake it up, it's ready to use. We've used other stains, but had to re-stain sooner than the Thompson product, and I'd rather be enjoying the deck longer and worry-free.

    Always Dependable
This was simple enough to apply and one coat is going to protect for 3-4 years. If you have wood around and don't want to paint it. This is what you need to protect it and make it look good too. No stirring, no mixing. Pour it into whatever you're using to apply and go. Brush, roll, paint pad or sometimes spray in on. It takes about two hours for it to dry and will cover up to about 400 sq.ft., according to how you apply it. I try to get it everywhere. Read and follow label directions and it ... read more won't let you down.

scared me at first, but great product
it scared me at first because it rolled on pepto-bismo pink. It dried nicely to a nice deep red color. It dried quickly, rolled on very nicely, and brushed on very nice. keep the edge wet to avoid overlapping dried overlaps.
