    Good product history
This has always done its job well, as long as the person applying it was competent.

Happy with Glazol one year later
Bought mine in small quantities as first time and not sure how it would work. Pleased! Did test drive last year reglazing windows in place - so exposed to elements but did "canopy" work areas with plastic while glaze curing. Slow process (remove old putty, prime area with KILZ (oil based), 24 hour wait, put on Glazol, waited two weeks till skin touchable but pliable then cover glaze with one coat KILZ and next day started 2 coats Benjamin Moore exterior latex. Waited two weeks more to put storms ... read more back in. That was last July. It is now a year later (June) and everything has held together beautifully - no cracks, no peeling. Am working now on additional windows.

good to work with, sets up very slow
It's a good product. I've used it before. It's much more workable than the DAP equivalent. However it takes a really long time to set up. I'd use it again.

Best window glaze compound out there!
I have a historic home with original windows from 1857. I would never think of replacing them with modern windows -- NEVER! This product, Glazol, by UGL is far superior to any other window glazing product out there. Mixed with a little mineral spirits as suggested on the label, it remained pliable and was easy to work with. It cured well and was very paintable. With this product and appropriate timely maintenance my windows should last another 100 plus years easily. I do not understand why Home ... read more Depot does not carry this product in the store along with other products recommended by the Window Preservation Standards Collaborative.

    Perfect for sealing ceramic!
After doing a lot of research, I used this to fix a cracked scented wax burner, which was leaking the wax into the base. The sealant is designed to take the heat (up to 400 degrees). Though it's "clear", it is visible, but done carefully, the value of the repair far outweighs the slight visibility. This sealant is clearly NOT food-grade. Was used on non-food-grade ceramics. Wife is happy. Awesome!

Going to use this to seal a microwave rice cooker
I just wanted to note that Dap says this silicone sealant is food-contact safe. I have a microwave rice cooker that leaks at the top when I try to cook more than a cup of rice. There's a slot on the lid that looks like it should hold a silicone band to seal it, so I'm going to try filling in that space with this Dap product and see what happens.

    Silicone cures by humidity
in our dry West Texas climate this brand and any other 100% silicone will take longer to cure. The more humidity the faster the cure and vice versa.

    Very clear - NOT paintable
Pros: Very clear No odor, VOCs Notes: Very sticky which means it takes a little while to learn how to work with it when applying it. Smooths easily. I use a latex glove with water on my finger, no rag. I suggest the glove because this stuff feels like it never comes off your skin. Takes a long time to not be tacky. Cons: Not paintable as advertised. I tested the caulking with SW Harmony primer, plain Behr latex enamel semi gloss and Fiberlock Lead abatement paint. The lead abatement paint ... read more worked/stuck to my first batch of caulking which I painted approx 1 day after application. The second batch of caulking I didn't get to until 2 or so days and none of the paints would stick to it, including the lead abatement paint. I eventually put a thin overlay of DAP caulking on the caulked areas, let that cure and then painted. Defeats the purpose. BUT, I would definitely buy this caulking again for places I don't need to paint. I give it 4 stars because of the issue with paintability not being as advertised.

    best adhesive for fabric!
I occasionally use silicone to make fab jobs of fabric for diy and camping projects but it is far from ideal. This stuff I found by title on some technical look up pages on the net and only found it at Home Depot on line i.e. not on shelf. The stuff is fantastic e.g. great strength and dries thin and flexible in doubler joints. I joined 2 sheets to make a radiant heatshield for my 16 foot rv awning. Hung it tight from four corners and it shows no signs of yielding. I will now add 2 mid length ... read more grommets to mitigate catenary droop and will enjoy shade at 7400 feet w/o baking form hot poly dark awning

I have been using this product for years and have recommended it to everyone
I have used this product during the winter months for years with my 27 year old drafty windows. I use it to seal the gap where the sashes lock together and all around the windows where they loosely contact the slide tracks. I then use heat shrink window film over the entire window and frame on the inside. You won't believe the difference between just using the window film alone verses using the film with the caulking! Before I could see the plastic move with the wind. Now, that draft is gone and ... read more I barely see the plastic move evenly on those blustery days. Product does smell during cure, but the smell will dissipate after 24 hours. The product fills gaps well - even large ones- with multiple passes with a minute or so cure in between. (You may have to cut the tip back for a thicker bead) also, If you let it set for around 30 seconds you can work it with your fingers without it being too sticky. Product is very thick and flows better thru tips cut to the larger size and flows better in warmer temps. Sticks to anything but Peels off easily in one piece in the spring. Definitely not cheap but worth it in heating oil savings and draft- less comfort.

Easy to use, seals the drafts
It's a good product. I've used for years. It's easy to apply around the windows. Comes off clean and doesn't harm the woodwork. I've even left on some windows longer than a year and it comes off fine. It will not keep for another season, even if unoponed, so only buy what you will use up. I get about 6 standard size windows out of a tube of caulk. Only 4 stars on value because I would not say it is cheap.

    Works perfectly!
I have used this and removed it. It works as advertised! Will be buying more soon! I wish it was available online as I am not near a Home Depot anymore.

    sealed window crack nicely
product was a little sticky and hard to clean up ... recommend plastic gloves... but worked great to seal up window frame crack which was leaking water into porch. No leaks after application.

    Awesome product
Purchased this caulking gun not to use for caulking but, as a battery operated jerky gun. The barrel length and diameter is the same as my jerky cannon so to modify was simple and reversible. I ran out 112 pounds of jerky (74 tubes full) and never had to recharge the battery.
