Very Good, Switched Over from DAP
I do a lot of trim refinishing/painting. I used to use DAP Dynaflex 230 to caulk the joints before painting. I tried this HDX instead because they were out of DAP. The HDX does not have the nauseating chemical smell that the DAP has, and it has performed just as well so far in terms of staying bonded to the primer and woodwork. DAP and HDX both claim they won't shrink when dry. This is not true whatsoever for either product, or any other elastomeric caulk for that matter. It seems like all elastomeric caulks on the market claim this, but they all shrink, it is a characteristic of the product. It would be nice if they would just stop pretending they won't.
My only complaint with this product is that it often continues to squirt out of the tube after you have released the caulking gun trigger. It seems to be more an issue with the design of the plastic tube than the caulk itself.
