Began using this product on rental properties several years ago. Coverage great, finish great, durability great. It is a little on the expensive side however if I had to purchase primer and paint it would cost at least this much. And, I would have more labor involved if I had to paint a separate primer and paint coat. As I said I began using this product about five years ago and all surfaces have held up beautifully, no peeling.

    Best primer/sealer I've ever used.
I have used several primers and sealers and out of all of them, this is the best one. It goes on thicker than others and covers very well. Easy to apply, easy to use, dries quickly, and all for the same price as others (not expensive as some).

    First time painting cabinets
We did two coats of primer on our cabinets before starting with paint. This paint seemed to cover pretty well! I painted the cases while still up, so ended up doing three coats because wanted to do them thin enough so they wouldn't drip. This kind of paint stayed tacky for a while, and even after it wasn't, it seemed like it might chip. So that's the only reason I gave it 4 stars. We actually left for a bit after finishing, and that helped the paint to fully dry without disturbance. I'm SO happy ... read more with the result though!!

    Metal primer
Easy to use and apply. Seemed to be a little thin, so the coverage was not as good as expected. Easy to cover with paint.

The right primer for the best application!
Without a doubt, without first using this primer....my project wouldn't have turned out PERFECT. Reading the directions helped make for a great "first effort". Very pleased with end results.

    Awesome odor control
Rescued a cat that proceeded to mark every baseboard and wall in our house when we left. He was old and mentally gone. After sending him yo great beyond, I had to remove and throw away about 2000 square feet of carpet and hardwood after my wife tried every position send natural remedy. I parked every wall up two feet including the baseboards and the subfloor. Smell gone! Locked in! Top coated with oil based porch paint until we can agree on new flooring. Our other cat doesn't see, to mind the ... read more new floors and the absence of his friends smell either.

    Love this product!!!
I didn't realize this was oil based. I bought it because it was on clearance, but it works great!! We used it over raw texture, on raw cedar and painted wood. It covers great. The smell may be intense, but if you have ugly stuff that you want covered up, its the best. Dries to touch in 15 minutes and can be re-coated in 45.

    Goodbye cigarette odors and stains!
Like the title says, this stuff works for cigarettes stains and odors. And not "pretty much works" or "masks it for a while", but it really will completely hide and seal cigarette pollution on walls. I bought a house that had been heavily smoked in for a long time and I didn't realize it until the brand new paint that the remodelers/sellers used had dried out. Thank heavens for this amazing primer. This has changed our home back into its original condition. It's night and day. The price is high ... read more but so very worth it. Be aware it needs a very thorough shaking and is runny and noxious. Wear a chemical mask (the small, white face masks for dust will NOT work) and safety goggles. Buy quality brushes or rollers meant for oil based paints. It thins with ammonia which is quite cheap, so another plus.

Probably the answer to your priming issue
Prep is still the most important part of finishing. Sand, Thinner, etc. We had a ton of stained oak trim. Sanded the poly. Hit a bunch of it with mineral spirits. A coat of BIN. Then two coats of trim paint. Also used it on areas that have stains or weird stuff. Don't waste your money using this on raw drywall or clean trim. If there is wood stain or stains or just strange material, Bin is the answer.

    Just What I Needed!
Used this product to rid our house of a cat urine smell, tried to have the carpets cleaned and that did nothing so we had no choice but to rip out the year old carpet and pad and seal the subfloor. Took 3 cans to do the livings room with 3 coats, but it worked like a charm I swear by this stuff!

    Worked well for cement foundation
I was advised to use the product to cover the cement foundation before installing new carpet. It would prevent any odor that may be in the cement from coming back. Has a strong smell when applied.

    1-Gal. Multi-Surface Primer & Sealer Exterior
Excellent primer. Great bond and great base for topcoat. Use this on wood sided homes as a base for finish coat. Very good product!!!

Excellent product for an Excellent price!
My husband and I have been replacing some rotten house siding and wood trim as well as repainting soffits that the paint is peeling off. Our house is over 40 years old (had been painted with in a couple of years prior to us purchasing) and even though home improvement projects are expected, I believe we wouldn't be dealing with these problems if they had primed with an Exterior Behr Primer and Sealer. We are making sure we do the job right and have used Behr Premium Plus Multi-Surface Primer and ... read more Sealer. It is a thicker consistency that is easy to paint with; it goes on great, covering well with just one coat. Dry time is pretty quick which is a very time efficient feature. Excellent product!

Clean up was eazy and love this product
I almost didn't buy this product after reading several reviews about the tough clean up. I have been painting the exterior of my home since May and I have done lots of clean up on various stains, paints and primers. I needed a really good primer for my garage door and also my masonry front steps. This product fit the bill. My brush and roller cleaned up fine after both applications on the garage door and they are ready to go for the next project. A tip I learned along the way for the paint tray. ... read more I line the tray with the cat liners that slip over the pan. I can get four trays out of 1 liner and makes for easy cleanup.

    Great anti-rust spray
I have used this spray in the past, try other cheaper brands, but come back to this one, unbeatable quality altough a little expensive, in the long run you save in maintenance

I am pleased with the product. It covers very well, which allowed for one top coat of paint. I would purchase it again.

    Overspray
The spray works, however, it deposits a fine paint "dust" over EVERYTHING below !! I read where someone used a sheet of cardboard to alleviate this problem, but I didn't read it until AFTERWARDS ! My bad. And I also found this sold individually/ single cans at Lowes' for $4.79. so I purchased it there so as not to buy a whole case. They also had KILZ spray (10 oz.) Not sure which I prefer....both produce about the same results...UP is less expensive and comes in a 14 oz can, though.

    covers well
I was kinda worried that it wouldn't match the color especially when I first sprayed it on but it worked great and dried to the same color.

The best product on the market to cover ceiling stains.
This product is easy to use and the results are perfect. It not only covers the stain but there is no need to paint the ceiling, unless your ceiling is not white. I had my painter try it and he said he had not seen anything like this on the market that was of such great quality. The only drawback is that I had to buy a box of them because Home Depot does not sell them individually any longer.
