Clean up was eazy and love this product
I almost didn't buy this product after reading several reviews about the tough clean up. I have been painting the exterior of my home since May and I have done lots of clean up on various stains, paints and primers. I needed a really good primer for my garage door and also my masonry front steps. This product fit the bill. My brush and roller cleaned up fine after both applications on the garage door and they are ready to go for the next project. A tip I learned along the way for the paint tray. ... read more I line the tray with the cat liners that slip over the pan. I can get four trays out of 1 liner and makes for easy cleanup.

    eterior primer good
I used this on a older house that I scrapped the old paint off. I used Behr paint to topcoat it. I think it did a good job but my concern is the cost of it. Kilz is less then half the price,

    1-Gal. Multi-Surface Primer & Sealer Exterior
Excellent primer. Great bond and great base for topcoat. Use this on wood sided homes as a base for finish coat. Very good product!!!

    This worked great!
I liked this primer. I used it before putting down new paint in my bedroom. I had recently put up new sheetrock and noticed that the paint without the primer would show the dried joint compound through the paint. Even though it was sanded level. This primer took care of that 100%. Looks great! The best part was a water cleanup and I can use this inside or out!

Mixes thoroughly. Applies easily. Good coverage. Low odor
Like many other reviewers of this product, I also have used Zinsser primer for many years because it mixes thoroughly, applies easily, and coverage is very good. Unused product also will last a long time in the can without drying or filming, which reduces waste. My house is clad in cedar siding that is painted gray, so using a gray primer is ideal. You can paint or roll on the primer without runs or drips. The product bonds well to metal and wood surfaces, and accepts paint well. Zinsser primer ... read more dries quickly and cleans up with soap and water. It does have an odor, but it’s low and very tolerable.

I'm A Big Fan of these Rustoleum Products
Been using Zinnser products as my "go-to" primer for years ... interior and exterior projects, particularly now that I can use any topcoat with these water-based primers. And I see no reason to change anytime soon. This product was used for two exterior projects ... [1] priming some newly-made flower boxes which I top-coated with a top-quality oil-based crimson paint and [2] ... and this is an unusual application, sealing the ends of freshly cut boards off my sawmill ... after three weeks of ... read more air drying, the sealing seems to be working as I'm not seeing any signs of 'checking' [being water-based, I tinted some of the material with leftover latex paint to be able to quickly discriminate wood types].

    Did the trick
Had a property that was occupied by dogs that were kept inside the basement WAY too many times and WAY yo long. Kennels were left on top of carpeting whit padding. Concrete flooring under that . After using other chemicals I needed to seal the concrete. Paint was almost watery but that made it go on easy and seal quickly. I was prepared for the vapors to be bad but did not have to put on a chemical suit or mask. I would not suggest a totally enclosed space for hours but this product went on so ... read more fast and dried quickly that I did not need to worry about the fumes. After drying, there was some residual odor but nothing that was offensive.

    Best primer for the job
Used BIN before, was completely satisfied, just a return use.

Probably the answer to your priming issue
Prep is still the most important part of finishing. Sand, Thinner, etc. We had a ton of stained oak trim. Sanded the poly. Hit a bunch of it with mineral spirits. A coat of BIN. Then two coats of trim paint. Also used it on areas that have stains or weird stuff. Don't waste your money using this on raw drywall or clean trim. If there is wood stain or stains or just strange material, Bin is the answer.

    Great Product!
We just painted our entire new home with this primer and are very satisfied with the results. I was unsure how this product would work since it had such a low price but I was not sorry about my choice. We used 55 gallons without any problems using a Titan paint prayer in about 7 hours. I would recommend this primer to anyone painting new drywall. It looked so good I wondered if we needed to put a top coat on it at all.

    BEHR DRYWALL PRIMER AND SEALER
BEHR DRYWALL PRIMER AND SEALER is a remarkably versatile product. Obviously, it a great quality primer-sealer at a great price. I discovered that it is also good for diluting paint colors to a lighter shade. Surprisingly, as a painter, it is also amazing for priming canvasses before painting them (Gesso is more than double the price). In fact, it can be used on almost any surface on which paint adheres. That's my testimonial!

used as a primer and sealer.... it worked just fine.
I put a very light coat not very carefully on my walls (2.5 ft new drywall from flood) top of the wall was a pinkish beige and my new color was natural linen which has a greenish tinge to it. You could see through the light primer/sealer coat but it did the trick perfectly because it was sealed. When I put on the top color, the natural linen, it was perfect and needed only one coat. Did the same thing with the ceiling and only need one ceiling coat. It saved me a lot of money. I'm happy since ... read more the primer coat hardly took any time, dried quick and I could do the top coat within an hour so when I finished one side of the room I could go back and start the top coat instantly. I would definitely recommend this product.

    No smell
Pros: Doesn't have that terrible paint smell! Nice color to it. Cons: Does not go on as smoothly as other paints I've used. A little sticker than I'd like.

    Best paint ever
This is hands down the best paint I've ever worked with. It's amazing how little it smells. I didn't get a headache from painting a small room, the colors are beautiful, it goes on smooth and evenly, just impressive all around. Plus they have a free color help thing on their website which gives you ideas and advice from real people! I'm already playing with new colors for our next room. I highly recommend this paint!

    Excellent Paint
I love Colorhouse paint. When I read other paints have all sorts of chemicals in them and anti-freeze I went looking for a better product and found Colorhouse. We are buying to use on our kids rooms this month. Great colors also.

Great sealer for skim coated level 5 ceilings
This is absolutely the right thing for the job if you have skim coated your walls or ceilings with joint compound. After months of popcorn removal, skim coating, and sanding I was finally ready to paint my ceilings. The all-purpose joint compound left a chalky, powdery feel on the ceilings. The chalky surface would easily rub off on your fingertip and looked like it could absorb a lot of paint. After doing some research on various painting and drywall websites, the overall opinion was that ... read more Zinsser Gardz was the best product for the job to seal a level 5 finished wall or ceiling. Application was fast and easy with a short nap 9" roller. Simply load up the roller and spread across the ceiling evenly. Be liberal in application, but backroll if any runs appear. I had over 1500 sq ft of ceiling area to paint, and 5 gallons was more than enough. After one application of Zinsser Gardz I rolled on two coats of Behr Premium Plus ceiling paint with a lower-nap 18" roller. I think a better ceiling paint with more primer may have allowed me to do fewer coats, but the paint went on evenly and did not get absorbed into the ceiling, leaving a uniform texture.

    Great product, always excellent results.
Gardz is my go to primer/sealer before wallpaper installations. It goes a long way, is easy to apply, and never fails to produce an excellent surface to install on.

    Great product
We had a dog and cats in our home. needed new carpet. when pulled carpet up noticed spots that old dog had left behind. I bought this Kilz hope that it would not only cover stains but also to cover smell. I swept and vac'd good. Sprayed Kilz on spots, let dry, did 2nd coat and that was that. Carpets were layed 1 week later. and could not smell that pets even lived here. I have used this product before on other items and all ways worked great for me.

    Kill primer is great
I was painting a pantry closet that had bad stains that still showed after 3 coats of paint. I finally got smart and bought the Kilz - worked great! Easy to use and no lingering odor! Now my closet is white without stains showing thru!
