    Great water heater
easy to install makes great hot water and recovery time is also great. Don't forget to set the top heating element 10 degrees less then the bottom element. This prolongs the life of the unit.

    best bang for your buck
I had a 80 gal water heater and was afraid that this unit would not keep up. it took me 30 min. to install and a hr. later I had hot water and have not run out of it yet with 8 people in the house.

    Good water heater so far
Standard water heater. Pretty easy installation. Only been installed less than six months but no problems so far. I researched it and this was the replacement model for a GE branded that was previously installed. That GE model lasted over twice as long as the warranty indicated. I finally got scared to leave it in any longer before it might start leaking. I hope this one is just as good.

    Reheats fast.
I always liked gas hot water heaters better than electric because they would catch back up faster. This electric one is as fast as any gas one. I almost went thru the hassle of changing to a gas one. I'm very glad that I didn't. I have had several other brand electric units but none of them worked as well as this Rheem.

    So far, so good...
I've had this water heater for several months now, and it consistently heats water as advertised. For this particular unit, there has been no leaks or other maintenance needed so far. My last water heater lasted 15 years, and my hope is that I get the same performance from my Rheem.

Heater Works Well, Covers not so much
Heater Install went pretty easy. Relief valve was aimed at the rear, so take note on hose lengths needed. The major complaint I had was the poor quality of the self tapping screws used on the covers, they instantly stripped once I set temp and tried to put the cover back on. I will have to find larger screws to hold the plates on now, (they have some tension on them since there is fiberglass insulation directly behind them.

Good basic product that serves it's purpose.
Installation was simple, as this was my first water heater project. But the product appeared good quality and I would recommend it.

Seems to be a good purchase
Checked around and found this heater to be the best for the money with the larger elements and Rheem is a good name brand

    Well built, reasonably priced
Used this to replace a 9+ year old water heater that had started to leak. Also replaced the flexible water lines (cold and hot) to ensure a problem free near future.

    Great recovery rate!
Because I already had a 30-amp feed for this water heater (even though the old one was only 4500 watts), I went with this 5600-watt model. As a result, the recovery-rate for this 40-gallon unit is much better than than the old 52-gallon tank that it replaced. The LED indicators on this water heater are a useful addition, although they indicate that an element is "on" -- as opposed to actually indicating current flow THROUGH the element. Unfortunately, this means that if an element fails, the ... read more LED won't tell you that.

great product...sleek looking water tank; nothing to erode and leak.
It fits in a small closet with ease. lots of hot water too! My husband installed it and loves the idea of not having anything to erode and leak in the bedroom again.

I would not use any other type of water heater!!!
I purchased this water heater because it is the only water heater on the market that does not put aluminum into the water. All other water heaters have a warning not to drink the water from a hot water heater because they contain an aluminum anode that adds poisonous aluminum salts into the water and are not safe to drink. Check out the other hot water sites, they say right in their web sites "do not drink the water from their hot water heaters" it is for washing and bathing only. Marathon 40 Gal Hot Water Heater
Bought this heater given it's all plastic design ie no anode rod ie no "smelly water". The unit is great appearance and quality. Installed with no issues and so far has worked fantastic. Not the cheapest heater around but again the only one with the all plastic design and has so far solved our smelly water problem!

    Water Heater Replacement
I replaced my 23 year old Rheem water heater with a new Rheem water heater. The existing water heater was still working but I had a pipe leak behind the unit so replaced it with the same model. The only problem I had was trying to get a sales associate to help me. Thanks to another customer we loaded the water heater on a cart and I took it to the checkout.

    Very Good Electric Water Heater
I am very pleased with my new electric water heater. I hesitated buying my new water heater from a box improvement store because all my water heater that I have purchased in the past have been through a pluming store. I installed the water heater myself with no issues but you will need to have some plumbing skills because I had to do some sweating on the copper pipes. I love the electronic display and the instructions are very easy to follow. I would recommended this water heater with a household of 2-4.

Plenty of hot water for a house full
The heat pump works great. Got an 80 gallon one to replaced a 50 that could not keep up with hot water when we had company staying with us. No shortage of hot water with this one. My only complaint is ours is set on 120 degrees and sometimes in the morning you have to turn the shower handle to almost all hot to get a comfortable shower. Other times just past halfway. Appears the temperature varies some from the 120 degrees in the morning hours. Also easy to install and nice features.

    Lots of hot water fast
Replaced 14 yo GE 6-yr warranty WH when it started leaking with this one. Consumer Reports says go with the longest warranty model. Time will tell if it lasts. So far performance is way better than the old one. On first fill, water was hot in one hour. It's been a few weeks and family of four can do showers back to back without running out. Looks good and lots of features with LCD panel. Rerouted plumbing and electrical so we could store in garage, instead of laundry room. No worries about ... read more flooding house anymore and wife got extra storage space where WH was before. Pretty easy install in about 5 hours, including new pipes and wiring.

    Buyer be ware!
I've had my water heater for 6 years, without any problems. I recently noticed that the exterior plastic shell was cracking. Called rheem with concern and was told that it would not stand up in our Texas heat. They upgraded the exterior case with new plastic that would take the Texas heat. Rheem gave me no hassle about a full replacement and authorized a warranty claim number. I called the store and they want me to pay the difference in price to to inflation. Rheem can't control Home depot ... read more exchange policy. The best part from management is that I have to return my old water heater first(it still works fine) and wait a expected 24 days for new heater. Rheem has been excellent in customer service but home depot has once again lived up to poor expectations. I recommend the heater but purchase from another source other than home depot.

    Excellent investment!!!
Replaced a standard hot water heater that was rusting from the inside out causing the water to be brown tinted. I kept noticing rust stains on some laundry in random and realized it was unnoticeably failing. After doing some research I figured this was the way to go. I purchased this tank over two years ago and this thing is awesome... Being a lifetime warranty on the tank and no anode to rust, it seemed like a no brainer. Yes it does cost more than a standard, but it will definitely pay for itself in years...

    Marathon water heater
Just received the water heater and installed it. So far its mighty fine!! We will see in the years to come how it will do with the artisan well water we have. The hardest thing was waiting for it to arrive, being without hot water for a month is a challenge :)
