Excellent application for second home that is used periodically
Excellent alternative for 2nd home that get used periodically.

    Excellent alternative to tank-style.
This unit makes perfect sense for many reasons. I only use a few gallons a day most of the time. But several weeks a year I might have 4-8 people needing showers, laundry, dishes, cleaning... The temp is incredibly steady and perfectly predictable, adjustible and economically smart. Installation was simple and quick. The 36 kilowatt model is overkill, but my well is 400 feet down and my crawlspace is 62° even in summer, so I wanted to be sure the water could always be hot and ready, even in ... read more Montana winters. No regrets.

    works great
Installation costs more than the water Heater. I knew was going to cost for this first one. had to add four 40 AMP breakers and 4 pairs of wiring. Heats fine. have not had long enough to see effect on electric bill. I am happy with purchase.

    Great
I have three bathroom and the system is working great. I would recommend. The electric installation is the only issue that I had, you have to hire a electrician to get the new breakers installed.

    Great Purchase
My plumber had no problems installing the unit and my electrician was in and out in less than an hour. It has been working perfectly - hot water at all points when needed.

    Happy user
Had ours for about a year now. Installation was not that difficult. However, did call in an electrician to complete the installation. Make sure you check to see if you have room in your circuit box for the three 50 amp breaks it needs. Had to move one of my breaks to keep these in line together. Unit works as advertised . There is plenty of hot water through out the house. Took us a couple of weeks to adjust the hot water temp to get the right water mix when multiple devices are used at once. ... read more Inlet water temp makes a big difference. We have our own well with a storage tank. Because of the storage tank the water in the winter is much colder. Still have plenty of hot water, but can only run one shower at a time in the winter. With that said this still is an excellent product. Nice to gain the space in garage used by the old hot water tank. Don't expect a big savings on your electric bill. It took a couple of months to see the difference.

    Fantastic machine!
Its hard to believe this little unit will replace a 40 Gallon water heater! But I must say I was happy to say good " buy" to the large antiquated tank! I have a 2300sq foot home in the mountains of southern California we are at about 4800 elevation. So we get a little snow and cooler temps. I had to wait 2 mins for the old water heater to reach the bedroom shower, now I only have to wait about a min and a half . but once it comes hot, it does not stop! Family over for the holidays 3 showers in a ... read more row it produces endless hot water and 2 showers at a time are good as well. 6 months of use should have done this years ago. I spent a little time to install the heavy gage wire to the main panel but installation was a snap. Ps if you have a bath tub that runs at 5-7 gallons a min .... use a 2.5 gallon per min water saver end.

    Incredible
Very easy to install. I'm in Florida and using this for my whole house. The only issue is when both showers are running the water pressure drops quite a bit. However it's still ok to use both showers at once. It's perfect if your power supply is limited. I would have had to upgrade my service to use a bigger unit. I am very happy with it. I do recommend installing a sediment filter on cold water supply. If anything gets in the unit it will stop working but it's easy to rectify the problem by ... read more just disconnecting the supply at the unit and removing debris from the screen. Had to contact customer service to figure that out and they were extremely helpful.

Great addition to the garage sink
It used to take forever to get hot water to the garage utility sink. I thought one of these on-demand units might be a good idea and spent a couple of hours installing it. Totally worth it, hot water instantly for washing hands, the dog, whatever you have. No tank to drain and it's not sitting there 99.9% of the time heating a tank of water that is only being used very occasionally.

    Does what is expected
We've had this installed for 2 weeks now, water get warm quickly. Easy to install and so far no problem.

    Works great
Kitchen sink is sooo far from the garage water heater it Took to long before it got warm. Biggest problem was getting the wiring through the attic down to the sink. But it was worth it. Have the same problem with the bathrooms. Just to far from the old water heater. Plan to install a larger model to serve the baths now I know they work.

    noisy hot water
Installed under the kitchen sink to supply the sink and dishwasher with hot water. Noisier than expected, but don't know how this compares to other similar units. Standard sized fittings and copper compression fitting supplied. Note that you only get their warranty if a licensed plumber and electrician install and sign off on it.

    This is a wonderful unit.
This is a wonderful unit. Since I have really cold ground water, it takes a little longer to heat the water in the winter but well worth the wait. I have not had it long eonugh to see the savings but look forward to it.

Easy to install. Provides ample hotwater and does not use electircity all the time to keep your water hot in a tank.
This was my first tankless hotwater heater and found it easy to install. I have it set at 126 degrees so I can cut it back with cold water. I have a long run (53 ft) from one end of the house to the other so I purchase a second hotwater to eliminate the long wait for the hot water to reach the kitchen and guest bath. The thing to keep in mind is that it will put out 2.3 gal per min. If you are demanding more, the flow is cut back because it only has the set amount of 2.3 gal per min. If you are ... read more on a well, I would recommend some type of filter in your water line before it reaches your heater.

    Great for limited space
Was not very hard to install. The flow of hot water seems to be enough for showering. We have a 1200 sq ft 2nd home with 1 shower and more than likely not run washer and dishwasher at same time. Not sure on the light bill yet. We also put a filter system in because it was recomended with well water. Works great for our needs.

Works great for our whole small house-- even in Massachusetts, in winter, in our unheated basement
My girlfriend and I took out our 50 gallon gas hot water tank, and painlessly installed this right in its place in the basement. The pipes to our shower go through an uninsulated crawl space, and the shower is still hot enough. We are using the one RETE-13 for our whole 2 bedroom house, and it works just fine in winter in Massachusetts. Our kitchen sink and bathroom sink are both 1.8GPM, and our shower head is 1.5GPM. Completely satisfied, and would highly recommend.

    Tankless electric water heater
What a great idea. I still get hot water at the faucet in about the same time as with my 40 gallon tank and do not have to sacrifice the space and do not have to keep 40 gallons of water hot 24 hours a day. The temperature of the water from the unit is adjustable and my wife loves that she can shower as long as she wants. My unit is in the center of the house and therefor equidistant from all faucets. A real plus.

RETE-13 TANKLESS WATER HEATER: Works for me...
Works as advertised. Installation was easy, especially since it was new construction. ( didn't have to modify an existing setup ) Does require a high amperage service connection. Running a washing machine and dog grooming tub. Used lightly for about 6 months now, and I have no complaints.

    Extremely satisfied with this product
I bought this product new years eve and received it within days. I installed it myself in 5 hours only because I had to run new wires for the breakers I added. Easy installation other than that. The performance so far has exceeded my expectations by far. I can run 2 showers and do dishes without the hot water ever slowing down. My power bill should plunge on the next bill. Also, the amount of space I have gained by eliminating the large tank has created a new broom closet. Happy wife, happy ... read more life. I would recommend this product to anyone thinking about going tankless. Extremely happy customer here.

    Eco tankless hot water heater
Nice item but was unable to get home depot to install it. Got tired of talking to them over a 3 week period, lots of promises but no action. Finally contacted local Professionals on Monday and we were up and running the same day. This unit is great, and compact, lots of hot water when needed. highly recommended .

    Wonderful Product, Vague Instructions
We replaced our tank water heater with a Rheem brand tankless system in September. That one burned out three months later - no warranty, no luck! So we decided to try this brand (MUCH better warranty!). So far we love this one. It gets hot quickly, plenty of hot water and no supply issues! Our only problem was the installation instructions were a bit vague. This requires 6 power wires and only one ground wire vs. what we are used to (equal number of power and ground wires). As long as it keeps ... read more working, we are quite happy with it.

    Good whole house unit
This larger unit took the place of a point of use unit I mistakenly had put in, based on many positive reviews of people using it for the entire house. The smaller unit didn't deliver the hot water I was used to getting with two hot water tanks. I had it replaced and this unit professionally installed. The electrician and the contractor were impressed with this unit, and so was I when I got the hot water I have come to expect. The contractor was impressed that the unit is German-made, rated for ... read more a 2 bathroom home in a cooler climate, and designed for residential, commercial, and industrial applications. What's not to like about that? I'm very pleased with my purchase, which should handle any hot water needs I have for years to come.

    WOW the space you gain!!!
Hot water in a 3 bedroom 3 bath condo, just installed so cannot comment on saving, but this unit is so compact, had to have another breaker installed by an electrician. So far very pleased

    Very pleased
Although this product seems a little pricey, it exceeds the performance of our last whole house tankless heater. We have not had it long enough to comment on cost effectiveness, but we have used a whole house tankless heater for 13 yrs. with considerable savings. Delivery was prompt. Installation was not difficult considering we did it ourselves. A very quiet unit that provides hot water to several areas simultaneously without heavy fluctuation. Overall, love this product.
