    Work as advertised
I manage 40 unit condo complex and I have installed (will need hire licensed electrician and plumber) about 10 different tankless water heater units. And this one works as advertised. Simple and intuitive installation once the licensed electrician allocate enough power to the unit. By the time the electrician and plumber's cost are added the total will probably about 2x or 3x the cost of regular water heater. HOWEVER, the saving in electricity and disaster prevention (like when conventional ... read more water heater bust and cause flooding) is well worth the project. Because the unit is tankless there is no worry about flooding when it stops working.

    Fairly easy install
Was a decent install for a semi experienced person in electrical. I like the digital temp display and easy temp adjustment. So far only used for a month time will tell how well it works. Could use a list of size wire needed for the hook up I had to go online to see what size wire was needed. It does say size and how many breakers for the model.

Tankless is the way to go with a large family
After having success at my previous home with a different brand of tankless hot water heater, there is no way I would ever go back to a traditional tank for a large family. I have 8 children and a normal tank will not sustain hot water for more than a couple of showers and then you have to wait for hot water to be produced. This unit has enough throughput for sustained hot water as long as it is needed running thru at least 2 faucets at a time. We can use both bathrooms for showers or run one ... read more and laundry, etc. Someone with basic abilities to install electrical lines and water supply will have no issues performing the work themselves. I have had to contact support twice for assistance. ECOSmart support personnel have never asked whether or not this was installed by a licensed contractor or not. My only issues were the "flywheel" being stuck just after installation due to residue in the line shortly after installation and a blown fuse. Both repairs were completed by myself and totalled less than $1.

    Works great
Kitchen sink is sooo far from the garage water heater it Took to long before it got warm. Biggest problem was getting the wiring through the attic down to the sink. But it was worth it. Have the same problem with the bathrooms. Just to far from the old water heater. Plan to install a larger model to serve the baths now I know they work.

Works great as a backup unit
Normally the tank water heater in our home serves our purposes, but we get regular house guests and didn't want to upgrade to a larger unit so we bought this smaller point of use water heater as a back up when we have visitors and is has worked great for that purpose and the installation was pretty easy as well. Price was fair and its met our needs. That's a win-win in my book.

    Great for a small house.
Took out my 30 gallon tank and put this in our small house. 1 bath 2 bedrooms . Had to run new wiring. 6 gauge wire with a 50 amp breaker. Works great! We never run out of hot water .

    Good product so far
The 3.0 GPM Electric Tankless Water Heater is smaller then the one I was replacing and easier to install. It is working great so far, I will see how long this one will last. The one I had only lasted 3 years. and the part that went out was circuit broad that was not under the warranty.

    Easy to install
Started it up today. Very easy to install. The plumbing connections were easy. An electrician did the required upgrades for the power (from the lesser requirements for the tank heater we had). Easy to use and set.

    Hard to believe
I was cramped for space in my utility/laundry room. I removed my old gas hot water tank that was 15 years old and due for replacement. I had explored my options. Home Depot. com always had the answer and many choices. Easy install with the proper pex, and electrical tools (knowledge in these fields is a MUST). The Origin, Made in Germany says it all. They have been making energy saving products for nearly 90 years. Great Product!!!!

A good buy for the performance
It was pretty easy to install after working out the necessary adjustments for the location and the electrical box. There are two of us and we have two bathrooms, four sinks, and two showers plus a washing machine. It is working great for us. The price at Home Depot was better than any other place. It came much quicker than we were told. It is so much better than having 40 pounds of water setting on the floor waiting to drip.

    Quiet operation
I use this hot water heater to supply the sink in my back bathroom and to fill my whirlpool tub. The tub would empty my regular water heater. It took a little fiddling with the flow rate to get the temperature I wanted but once that was done it worked slowly but well. I would probably have been happer with a higher capacity one of the same type but I did not have room in my electrical box for the third 220 circuit.

It does what it says it will...
After much research, I chose this unit due to the amprage and wiring needed. The bigger unit would of been preferred, but limited space in electric panel for an addition double breaker and the additional guage wire and number of wires required. I was a little skeptical if this unit could meet my needs, but after installation completed I was able to confirm a 76 degree rise in temp (10ft away) and 66 degree rise in temp (over 150ft away from unit) running a lavatory faucet and a shower. ... read more Installation was easy once wire run to unit from panel (approx 50ft). Incoming water temp was 44 degrees from a deep well in Southwest MI in April when install completed.

Easy to install. Provides ample hotwater and does not use electircity all the time to keep your water hot in a tank.
This was my first tankless hotwater heater and found it easy to install. I have it set at 126 degrees so I can cut it back with cold water. I have a long run (53 ft) from one end of the house to the other so I purchase a second hotwater to eliminate the long wait for the hot water to reach the kitchen and guest bath. The thing to keep in mind is that it will put out 2.3 gal per min. If you are demanding more, the flow is cut back because it only has the set amount of 2.3 gal per min. If you are ... read more on a well, I would recommend some type of filter in your water line before it reaches your heater.

    Great addition to my house.
The installation was a simple matter of running a new wire to the location that I wanted to place the tankless hot water heater. It has been a god send for the grandkids that take a long shower. NEVER run out of water!!! I have recommended this to some of my freinds and at least one has installed it and is happy with the results.

    Great for limited space
Was not very hard to install. The flow of hot water seems to be enough for showering. We have a 1200 sq ft 2nd home with 1 shower and more than likely not run washer and dishwasher at same time. Not sure on the light bill yet. We also put a filter system in because it was recomended with well water. Works great for our needs.

    Perfect garage solution
Under $200, don't need to keep water hot in a tank, fits snugly next to my garage 3rd stall sink, might cost $1 in electricity to produce hot water for an hour so it probably will cost less than $1/month to run, what's not to like? The only hitch I had was that the ferrule on the inlet side leaked a little, wouldn't stop even with more tightening than I like. I bought new ferrules for both the heater inlet and the compression ball valve that fed it, changed them out, leak stopped, problem solved ... read more for about $2.50.

RETE-13 TANKLESS WATER HEATER: Works for me...
Works as advertised. Installation was easy, especially since it was new construction. ( didn't have to modify an existing setup ) Does require a high amperage service connection. Running a washing machine and dog grooming tub. Used lightly for about 6 months now, and I have no complaints.

    Tankless electric water heater
What a great idea. I still get hot water at the faucet in about the same time as with my 40 gallon tank and do not have to sacrifice the space and do not have to keep 40 gallons of water hot 24 hours a day. The temperature of the water from the unit is adjustable and my wife loves that she can shower as long as she wants. My unit is in the center of the house and therefor equidistant from all faucets. A real plus.

    Nice unit
Pretty basic install for average DIY person. Unit works well so far after 2 months in service for a family of 5. Only complaint is with the warranty . Touted as having a lifetime warranty on all parts. But thats after you have sent warranty card in within 30 days of purchase. Documenting the licensed plumber & electrician that installed it! Having licensed pros do the install would have added way to much to the cost, and really isnt necessary! So hopefully I dont need parts for a long time.

    Recently installed the EcoSmart 27
We haven't gotten the first electric bill, but I can't believe it will cost as much to heat water only as we need it, as it has to keep a 50 gallon propane fired water heater hot all the time whether we use it or not. For $505 it is about the same price as an ordinary water heater, but takes up a fraction of the space and gives us all the hot water we need. We are a family of four in Michigan and have no problem with the water heating up instantly. We had an electrician install it and he was ... read more impressed and wants to buy one for his own home.

EXCELLET Output for 3 Baths + Dishwasher and Washer
After burning 3 TITANS (purchased locally in Miami) I decided to sunk my cost and go for the best out of the shelf in Home Depot. I had to re do the Water pipe intake and flow from 1/2 Inch to 3/4 to fit into this unit AND place a separate breaker box to load balance my home's 400 Amps into dedicating 125 Amps for this unit to work at max capacity when needed... also rewire 3 AWG instead of the previous 2 - so all in all I spent 2.5-3 X times more over the cost of the unit to make it work ... read more properly - BEST INVESTMENT EVER. There is no more light flickering when hot water is flowing and I can have multiple faucets/showers running without compromising water temperature.
