    Fantastic machine!
Its hard to believe this little unit will replace a 40 Gallon water heater! But I must say I was happy to say good " buy" to the large antiquated tank! I have a 2300sq foot home in the mountains of southern California we are at about 4800 elevation. So we get a little snow and cooler temps. I had to wait 2 mins for the old water heater to reach the bedroom shower, now I only have to wait about a min and a half . but once it comes hot, it does not stop! Family over for the holidays 3 showers in a ... read more row it produces endless hot water and 2 showers at a time are good as well. 6 months of use should have done this years ago. I spent a little time to install the heavy gage wire to the main panel but installation was a snap. Ps if you have a bath tub that runs at 5-7 gallons a min .... use a 2.5 gallon per min water saver end.

    Incredible
Very easy to install. I'm in Florida and using this for my whole house. The only issue is when both showers are running the water pressure drops quite a bit. However it's still ok to use both showers at once. It's perfect if your power supply is limited. I would have had to upgrade my service to use a bigger unit. I am very happy with it. I do recommend installing a sediment filter on cold water supply. If anything gets in the unit it will stop working but it's easy to rectify the problem by ... read more just disconnecting the supply at the unit and removing debris from the screen. Had to contact customer service to figure that out and they were extremely helpful.

    Very impressive
This is a very impressive little unit. This was the only demand heater I could find that wouldn't pop the circuit breaker on the 30-amp circuit that I was forced to work with. That really was the selling point for me-- that I could replace a standing tank-type hot water heater with a little on-demand heater. While that can't usually be successfully accomplished because a 30-amp on-demand unit doesn't heat the water enough. But here in Hawaii our cold supply water is already close to 70 degrees ... read more F, so the 45°F rise at 1 gpm is enough for our kitchen sink. I rated the quality as "average" because I have no information that it is better or worse than what might be considered "standard", which is also undefined. But it worked perfectly as soon as I connected it.

    Excellent point of use heater
Easy to install. Water connections are compression, not pipe thread as I expected. Works great!

    Love this water heater!
Purchased this unit to replace another tankless water heater and the Tempra 24 Plus is SO much better. Installation was easy and the flow control on this unit makes all the difference. We never have problems with running out of hot water even with the dish washer going, the kids in the tub and the Mrs. in the shower with 3 shower heads. You can't go wrong with this unit as we have had great success for the 1.5 years we have been using it.

    Wonderful
Arrived early and got mounted simply enough. Used 2 x 24" flex hoses to connect both water lines within minutes. Purchased the 6x2 wire and the recommended 2 x 60amp double pole circuit breakers required per manual. Running 2 strands of the 6 gauge wire 60' to main panel through studs in 10F temperature was the difficult part (thick cold copper wire that gauge does not like to uncoil). Had electrician connect both ends (panel and heater) and was done in less then hour and back up and running hot ... read more water throughout house. Haven't run long enough to note energy savings, but compared to heating an old 80 gallon heater continually would think it would. Definitely a space saver and so far well worth the investment.

    Good whole house unit
This larger unit took the place of a point of use unit I mistakenly had put in, based on many positive reviews of people using it for the entire house. The smaller unit didn't deliver the hot water I was used to getting with two hot water tanks. I had it replaced and this unit professionally installed. The electrician and the contractor were impressed with this unit, and so was I when I got the hot water I have come to expect. The contractor was impressed that the unit is German-made, rated for ... read more a 2 bathroom home in a cooler climate, and designed for residential, commercial, and industrial applications. What's not to like about that? I'm very pleased with my purchase, which should handle any hot water needs I have for years to come.

    Great!
Very small and it's hard to believe that it could deliver hot water for showers, but it does. Nice and sleek looking with a Nicole digital read out I had it installed for my summer home and the real test will come when there is a house full of people in just a few short weeks. I will give a further update at the end of the summer. So far so good

    Best heating!
This is a great heater: I can set up the output temperature and no matter the water flow it keeps heating the water at the same temperature! We could run 3 showers at the same time, which is a rare occasion but we needed one as the whole family had to go out and the water heater kept the heating capacity just fine! It was easy to install as its size fitted so well that we saved space for other stuff we wanted to keep in the closet. Definitely recommend it.

RETE-13 TANKLESS WATER HEATER: Works for me...
Works as advertised. Installation was easy, especially since it was new construction. ( didn't have to modify an existing setup ) Does require a high amperage service connection. Running a washing machine and dog grooming tub. Used lightly for about 6 months now, and I have no complaints.

    Hot water instantly...almost!
We bought this for a guest area where we didn't want to keep a hot-water heater going all the time. This is perfect because it's only in use a short time per use. Like others have said, you get cold water for a few seconds at first. Not a problem. And we installed a filter to protect it from the minerals in our water. But a good hot-water shower is totally within it's capability as long as someone else is not using hot water at the same time. Our 220 watt service had to be upgraded to handle the ... read more electrical load for this heater. The two new 60 Amp breakers and wiring was about $500 installed.

Works great for our whole small house-- even in Massachusetts, in winter, in our unheated basement
My girlfriend and I took out our 50 gallon gas hot water tank, and painlessly installed this right in its place in the basement. The pipes to our shower go through an uninsulated crawl space, and the shower is still hot enough. We are using the one RETE-13 for our whole 2 bedroom house, and it works just fine in winter in Massachusetts. Our kitchen sink and bathroom sink are both 1.8GPM, and our shower head is 1.5GPM. Completely satisfied, and would highly recommend.

    Hard to believe
I was cramped for space in my utility/laundry room. I removed my old gas hot water tank that was 15 years old and due for replacement. I had explored my options. Home Depot. com always had the answer and many choices. Easy install with the proper pex, and electrical tools (knowledge in these fields is a MUST). The Origin, Made in Germany says it all. They have been making energy saving products for nearly 90 years. Great Product!!!!

Why do they make the large tanks when they have these?
We bought our 3 bdrm, 2 bathroom condo about 6 months ago with a very small kitchen with little cabinet space. i don't understand why more people don't have these! We never run out of hot water or have an issue with having enough.

The system has been installed for one month and works great
The Temperature control is excellent it provides the ability to adjust the temperature within a few degrees

I should have done this with my other one.
I don't get why it's alleged these tankless water heaters are hard to install.

    Great for limited space
Was not very hard to install. The flow of hot water seems to be enough for showering. We have a 1200 sq ft 2nd home with 1 shower and more than likely not run washer and dishwasher at same time. Not sure on the light bill yet. We also put a filter system in because it was recomended with well water. Works great for our needs.

    Did Not Meet Expectations
Was easy to install with exception of running new electric. Is installed in a 2 bedroom 1 bath apt with washing machine. Its specifications allege to handle this situation as a "whole house" hot water heater. All except bathing works well. In the bathtub, the water cycles between hot to very cold. It can be controlled somewhat by reducing the water volume. It works fine for taking a shower and maintains temperature but not for filling the tub for a bath.

It does what it says it will...
After much research, I chose this unit due to the amprage and wiring needed. The bigger unit would of been preferred, but limited space in electric panel for an addition double breaker and the additional guage wire and number of wires required. I was a little skeptical if this unit could meet my needs, but after installation completed I was able to confirm a 76 degree rise in temp (10ft away) and 66 degree rise in temp (over 150ft away from unit) running a lavatory faucet and a shower. ... read more Installation was easy once wire run to unit from panel (approx 50ft). Incoming water temp was 44 degrees from a deep well in Southwest MI in April when install completed.

Works great and easy replacement for old water heater.
Easy to install and great replacement for old water heater for kitchen/utility room area of my house. Provides hot water at the set temp. I like that you can replace the heating elements that can be found at local stores. Looks easy to troubleshoot if any problems occur. Also, I believe of all the other brands that I looked at before purchasing this one, this is the only brand that adjusts how many heating elements come on by ... read more how much water flow thus saving power consumption. Quiet operation
I use this hot water heater to supply the sink in my back bathroom and to fill my whirlpool tub. The tub would empty my regular water heater. It took a little fiddling with the flow rate to get the temperature I wanted but once that was done it worked slowly but well. I would probably have been happer with a higher capacity one of the same type but I did not have room in my electrical box for the third 220 circuit.
