    Tankless electric water heater
What a great idea. I still get hot water at the faucet in about the same time as with my 40 gallon tank and do not have to sacrifice the space and do not have to keep 40 gallons of water hot 24 hours a day. The temperature of the water from the unit is adjustable and my wife loves that she can shower as long as she wants. My unit is in the center of the house and therefor equidistant from all faucets. A real plus.

RETE-13 TANKLESS WATER HEATER: Works for me...
Works as advertised. Installation was easy, especially since it was new construction. ( didn't have to modify an existing setup ) Does require a high amperage service connection. Running a washing machine and dog grooming tub. Used lightly for about 6 months now, and I have no complaints.

    Hot water instantly...almost!
We bought this for a guest area where we didn't want to keep a hot-water heater going all the time. This is perfect because it's only in use a short time per use. Like others have said, you get cold water for a few seconds at first. Not a problem. And we installed a filter to protect it from the minerals in our water. But a good hot-water shower is totally within it's capability as long as someone else is not using hot water at the same time. Our 220 watt service had to be upgraded to handle the ... read more electrical load for this heater. The two new 60 Amp breakers and wiring was about $500 installed.

    Pleased
Had replaced a similarly spec'd Bosch tankless elec water heater that failed due to notorious controller board failure just after warranty expired. This EcoSmart provides more consistent hot water flow than the Bosch did and it's worked flawlessly for over a year now. Was easy to install, but hookups from Bosch were already present, making job easier. Previous and new plumber have both been skeptical that these units could provide hot H20 for master bath/shower, master sink, and guest bath sink, ... read more but it does it easily. Having LED temp readout and easy access temp control knob also nice. I'm buying another one for the guest house bath. Some saying install difficult, but I can't see this as being anymore difficult to install than any other tankless water heater. Each might require new electrical circuit and plumbing, so should be no surprises there.

    Great product with reasonable performance
Installation was relatively pain-free. The temperature setting is easy to adjust, and following the recommendation, I set it just high enough to where I have to add a little cold water when showering. At 115~120 deg F, it supplies water to my whole house (~1100 sqft) and only takes 10~20 seconds to push hot water to my kitchen (most distant pipe). Overall I'm satisfied, but if my house had better electrical wiring, I'd probably upgrade to the more powerful unit in the series for an extra $80, ... read more just to give it that extra oomph.

    Nice and easy
This tankless water heater was so easy to install, even the plumbing went off without a hiccup. Now our electric bill is lower by about 30% and we are just getting use to how to set the temperature for best savings.

    Excellent point of use heater
Easy to install. Water connections are compression, not pipe thread as I expected. Works great!

    Very impressive
This is a very impressive little unit. This was the only demand heater I could find that wouldn't pop the circuit breaker on the 30-amp circuit that I was forced to work with. That really was the selling point for me-- that I could replace a standing tank-type hot water heater with a little on-demand heater. While that can't usually be successfully accomplished because a 30-amp on-demand unit doesn't heat the water enough. But here in Hawaii our cold supply water is already close to 70 degrees ... read more F, so the 45°F rise at 1 gpm is enough for our kitchen sink. I rated the quality as "average" because I have no information that it is better or worse than what might be considered "standard", which is also undefined. But it worked perfectly as soon as I connected it.

    Extremely satisfied with this product
I bought this product new years eve and received it within days. I installed it myself in 5 hours only because I had to run new wires for the breakers I added. Easy installation other than that. The performance so far has exceeded my expectations by far. I can run 2 showers and do dishes without the hot water ever slowing down. My power bill should plunge on the next bill. Also, the amount of space I have gained by eliminating the large tank has created a new broom closet. Happy wife, happy ... read more life. I would recommend this product to anyone thinking about going tankless. Extremely happy customer here.

    Glad I made the change
Very small foot print compared to the 53 gal hot water heater that was there. Saving me time not having to wait for the water to heat up and also saving me $$ because it only comes on when needed.

    Fairly easy install
Was a decent install for a semi experienced person in electrical. I like the digital temp display and easy temp adjustment. So far only used for a month time will tell how well it works. Could use a list of size wire needed for the hook up I had to go online to see what size wire was needed. It does say size and how many breakers for the model.

    Great for limited space
Was not very hard to install. The flow of hot water seems to be enough for showering. We have a 1200 sq ft 2nd home with 1 shower and more than likely not run washer and dishwasher at same time. Not sure on the light bill yet. We also put a filter system in because it was recomended with well water. Works great for our needs.

Easy to install. Provides ample hotwater and does not use electircity all the time to keep your water hot in a tank.
This was my first tankless hotwater heater and found it easy to install. I have it set at 126 degrees so I can cut it back with cold water. I have a long run (53 ft) from one end of the house to the other so I purchase a second hotwater to eliminate the long wait for the hot water to reach the kitchen and guest bath. The thing to keep in mind is that it will put out 2.3 gal per min. If you are demanding more, the flow is cut back because it only has the set amount of 2.3 gal per min. If you are ... read more on a well, I would recommend some type of filter in your water line before it reaches your heater.

    I was surprised
I was actually shocked how good it works. Sure beats a 50 gallon tank sitting in my laundry room

    Energy SAVER!!!
This product is especially great for saving energy. It IS NOT for an entire house-only per sink or shower. Each one has to be wired and extra pipe is needed. REALLY handy for shops or in areas that you only want to have hot water and not others. PAYS FOR ITSELF many times over!!!

Love this water heater. Be sure to use the presure fittings when installing. Instructions tell you that is the design. I think it is an excellent product. I also have a 27 kw in my garage appartment. It solved the issues with hot water because i used it very little and a small amount of sulfer content when kept in the tank heater over a period of time smelled. with the tankless it dont get heated until used. I am a very satisfied customer. Thank you eco smart the name fits the product.

    Incredible
Very easy to install. I'm in Florida and using this for my whole house. The only issue is when both showers are running the water pressure drops quite a bit. However it's still ok to use both showers at once. It's perfect if your power supply is limited. I would have had to upgrade my service to use a bigger unit. I am very happy with it. I do recommend installing a sediment filter on cold water supply. If anything gets in the unit it will stop working but it's easy to rectify the problem by ... read more just disconnecting the supply at the unit and removing debris from the screen. Had to contact customer service to figure that out and they were extremely helpful.

Great addition to the garage sink
It used to take forever to get hot water to the garage utility sink. I thought one of these on-demand units might be a good idea and spent a couple of hours installing it. Totally worth it, hot water instantly for washing hands, the dog, whatever you have. No tank to drain and it's not sitting there 99.9% of the time heating a tank of water that is only being used very occasionally.

Why do they make the large tanks when they have these?
We bought our 3 bdrm, 2 bathroom condo about 6 months ago with a very small kitchen with little cabinet space. i don't understand why more people don't have these! We never run out of hot water or have an issue with having enough.

    Compact, heats water quickly
I did the installation myself with average skill & tools. The required heavy gauge wires are expensive, so add that in to your total cost. Also, check to see how many (1-3) SEPARATE electrical circuits are required for the chosen heater. This one heats water quickly; the shower is 10ft away and it takes about 10 seconds for the hot water to start flowing. Have not tried multiple hot water devices (shower, dishwasher) at the same time.

    Replaced tank type water heater
Compact, designed in stages to match power demands to water flow rate. Simple, clean design.
