    Good Product
The Ecotemp 3.0 Tankless is a Fairley easy Install. The directions are easy to follow. The problem was water heaters plumbing is normally at the top. The Ecotemp is at the bottom. I moved the water lines for a cleaner installation. Could have been done with flex lines.

    Good performance, poor documentation.
I installed this unit in my house to serve a single bathroom located far from the existing water heater. It turned out to be a great project. Another reviewer reports a diminished flow rate, but I don't experience that. It provides a nice hot shower. My advice is to clean the shower head and faucet aerators after doing any kind of plumbing work like this because sediment in the existing pipes gets stirred up whenever you drain and refill them. The natural gas inlet is 1/2 inch (not the 3/4 inch ... read more currently stated in the product overview). The vent kit includes a very short run of 2.5 inch diameter duct. It's just enough to reach through a typical brick wall of thickness 9.5 inches (0.5" wallboard plus 3.5" stud wall plus 5.5" brick ledge). The manual that accompanies this unit is written for some other unit as the illustrations and a lot of the descriptions don't match. For example, the manual states that a gas shut off valve is included, but it isn't. The vent kit looks nothing like the illustrations. I found Eccotemp customer service to be completely useless.

    Solid Unit
All in all I would recommend it. It is pretty easy to install and does it's job well. Pro - easy to install. It is light weight and small. I was able to move this around with 1 hand making moving it to the position I wanted very easy. It came with mount fittings for dry wall and concrete, as well as adapters for the connection hose. The description lies, the Gas inlet is a standard 1/2. The water connection is 1/2, which is not standard, however it comes with a set of brass fittings that size ... read more it up to the standard 3/4 size, so no special parts were needed to connect this. Cons - The vent is a 2.5 inch which was difficult to match. It does not come with much exhaust pipe, so you will likely need to buy all that you need. The unit is not loud, but also not quiet while running. Whenever it kicks on we can hear an audible hum from it. We installed it to a manufactored home, so we had to put it in the livingroom where the old tank was.

    Pretty nice
These units have really become cost effective....packaged well....installs fairly easily....home owners would have trouble plumbing the unit....the nipple attachments are a little week...too much force will break them....instructions point this out, yet.....

I have had the 199,900 BTU Tankless Water Heater for almost a year now and it was a great choice. It is located outside, so I did not have to worry about exhaust. I have had 3 showers going in the household with no problems. I would recommend this unit to anyone!!

    Outstanding Unit!
UPS delievered my new tankless water heater at 2:37 this afternoon and we had it installed and running perfectly by 6:25. And that included removal of my old Bosch unit and a trip to my local hardware store to pick up a few fittings. The unit delivers hot water in 8 seconds, and I have run it continuously now for 15 minutes in 2 showers and the kitchen sink with no drop in temperature or pressure. Being thoroughly familiar with tankless heaters - 6 years - I can overwhemingly endorse this product!

    works great!
The installation was easy even for a do-it-yourselfer like me. We never run out of water, and not heating water in the tank all day is a big money saver.

    Endless hot water
Very easy to install . But it would have been nice if the instructions showed that you need 2 45's to get the vents close enough together so they match the wall cover.

    Lots of hot water
Took 8 days to get the vent pipe that fit this Rheem heater. Which Home Depot does Not carry in store nor online. Shame on u Home Depot! Had to order from Amazon. But once we received the vent installation went smoothly and we have plenty of hot water. Hope this will save on energy usage over time.

Great product, very satisfied with results
While the install was quite a challenge working on a hot roof and in a hot attic, I'm very happy having taken the extra challenge to replace my water heater with a tankless. The special stainless venting is the hardest part to get just right but worth the effort. Endless hot water and a large savings in propane to boot.

    Tankless Hot Water Review
I would reccommend this product to anybody. We purchased this product has a replacment of an older existing tankless system. Important to note, to follow the directions in detail, having a water softner before the system and having the correct gas or lp line to the system is the key. The system has a wonderful safety feature ie. a built in heater to prevent freeze up (excellant) in cold climates. It came with a remote temp. control to be placed in any room of the house to increase or decrease ... read more the water temp. My wife really likes this concept for showers at one temp. and hotter water for washing dishes and clothes. Overall great product.

    So pleased with this Purchase!
Easy Install...everything was included except the PVC pipe to vent...yes, PVC pipe...all it needs. Wiring was easy enough and we now have an awesome water heater...coming from someone who purchased another brand previously and did nothing but fight with the product to work properly!! My old unit gave us nothing but issues. NOT THIS ONE THOUGH...I can run two custom showers in seperate ends of my home and both have plenty of hot water....I AM SCREAMING TO THE ROOFTOPS...GREAT PRODUCT!!!

We were replacing a 50 gal. electric w.h. I have a tankless gas water heater at home and wanted to put one at work. This was perfect for our application. We were able to vent with 3" pvc due to this being an ecosense. We have much more room in that corner as you can see from the picture. Easy to install and will save us tons on electricity since this is natural gas and is demand only. Quality piece of equipment. Works like a champ.

    Very Happy
Very fast shipping the heater. Very straight forward installation, I liked very much that I didn't need special venting and was able to use 3 inch PVC. It cleared up extra space in my utility room and looks much nicer than the big bulky tank heater too. It doesn't seem to heat the water enough when running the tub or shower, even with the temp turned up, which is strange because the temp stays the same with both tubs are running.

    rheem eco sense model eco150dvp3
excellent product.perfect fit for a 2 to 3 person home with one bathroom where morning time is important.in a home with a larger family and time is not critical it would be hard to beat you can,in a larger family add a smaller unit dedicated to the kitchen and have a 5 star winning combination at a very low cost and relevant investment return that is easily noticed monthly

Product is easy to use and compact.
The venting is the toughest part of installation. Be sure to pick the placement based on this rather than the plumbing. Adding piping was much easier than trying to fit the vent where it wouldn't go. Also research how to turn up the temp past 120 degrees. It is slightly complicated if you are not used to working with circuit boards.

    great Water Heater
What's great about it: good price! What's not so great: Vent Kit are price is high

    So far so good.
Can easily control temp. so kids don't get burned. Saves a lot of space since it's outside. Since I live outside city limits, I use a portable large propane tank to feed this unit. The directions don't cover any installation like this so took a little time to figure that out.

This product works better than expected
Instalation seemed complicated at first but was very simple.Make sure atleast 3/4 piping is ran from the propane tank to the unit and it will work very well.

    A welcome improvement
I bought this heater to replace a faulty and leaking 30gal. tank unit, which had been located in our utility room, along with the washer, dryer, and upright freezer, catbox, hamper.....you get the idea. Not only did this unit provide us with on-demand heated water, it eliminated an entire appliance from the layout of our utility room, allowing for a much greater and more effective use of the space. Sweet! The installation in our case was not for the faint of heart, for it required running gas ... read more piping to the unit, plumbing through the exterior brick wall into an insanely compact section of the crawlspace, running the cable for the remote control box, and running electrical to supply the unit control. I did this myself, which greatly reduced the installation cost, but I know not everyone is able to do that. I live in a small, 40 year old home with a 150 amp service panel, and the electric heaters I looked at required more dedicated current usage than I thought I could supply, and the indoor gas units would require putting significantly sized hole(s) in my brick veneer to accommodate the required vent pipe. This unit provided me with a solution to that and many other questions. I love it!
