Love it, still had hot water after 3 people finished showering. Arrived before they predicted. Need to buy cut-off valves for hot & cold water, pressure relief valve, cpvc with elbows for making turn and running lines and small amount of electrical wire to hook up the thermostat. Did it ourselves!!!! Pollie

    Better than a Bosch-Pro Tankless
I have had a Bosch GWH-635-ESO-N for years and wondered what was so good about a tankless water heater. Took a long time to get hot water to the destination, and had cold spots in the hot water line. Started having error codes and would have to reset all of the time, which meant going outside to the unit. My new Rheem has a control panel in the house if I ever need to reset it, I am using much less water because I turn on the hot water tap and get hot water like it is a regular tank unit. I do ... read more not have to heat up my hot water prior to plugging in my portable dishwasher and then keep the water running in another faucet so that it doesn't error out and shut the hot water off. I would recommend this product to anyone that wants to go tankless but was worried about wasting so much water because it sends the hot water to the tap so quickly that I am sure my water bill will go down.

    Great investment Love it
I had it installed because I was already having a bunch of plumbing work done, but it was pretty easy, it does require 120V electrical supply and wiring of the remote. I wanted to gain space in my laundry room and putting the heater outside makes so much sense, no fumes, duct work and if there is ever a leak no damage to your house. I do live in sunny south Florida so freezing is never a worry:)

    Tankless Hot Water Review
I would reccommend this product to anybody. We purchased this product has a replacment of an older existing tankless system. Important to note, to follow the directions in detail, having a water softner before the system and having the correct gas or lp line to the system is the key. The system has a wonderful safety feature ie. a built in heater to prevent freeze up (excellant) in cold climates. It came with a remote temp. control to be placed in any room of the house to increase or decrease ... read more the water temp. My wife really likes this concept for showers at one temp. and hotter water for washing dishes and clothes. Overall great product.

    Love it
Love this product the water is able to be adjusted to your liking and does not change the temp even when water pump is engaged

Great product- works like it should.
Once installed, all was great. I had Home Depot refer installation to a local plumber. Let's say craftsmanship was lacking by installer. I recommend asking installer what their game plan is and do they have all materials needed to complete job. This guy used old scrap wood from my yard to install unit.

    tankless heater
Initial installation and operation indicate no problems. Product is performing as expected and I am satisfied as a result. Long term(after warrantee period) trouble free performance is the ultimate objective. Final evaluation can only be made when first problem occurs and cost to repair is known.

    Best invention since slice bread
This product works better than my old electric water heater ever did. Water does not get cold even if all 3 showers are working at the same time.

    Easy to install, works great!!
It was not bad to install, works really well. I would recommend installing insulation on the pipes to help keep the water warm. It says the max temp on this model is 120 and that was not hot enough for us however when I called tech support to ask about it the lady walked me through how to re-program the thermostat to 140! Plenty hot now!!! Hold the up button till it blinks 140 then press the down button to set it.( don't let off the up button till it's set)

    very nice
Install took a good part of a ay. Of course that includes several trips to the hardware store. Instructions easy to fillow. Would recommend that you have a working knowlege of gas line installation. Called customer service and actually got a person. Helped with a question and was up and running in no time.

    Easy Setup
Since this comes with a power vent it can be install just about anywhere in the house. First I made the holes for the vents and completed the outside installation, followed by mounting the unit on the wall. I did all plumbing work using copper for the water lines and black pipe for the gas. TIP: add a mini Water hammer to the hot water line and Back flow preventer to the cold water. This help with knocking of the pipes when turning on or off the water. I did extra work in the event of having ... read more to flush the entire system by adding two ball valves to allow draining of the hot and cold water lines connected to the drain. Since the system plugs right into the 110 socket there is no need for electric work unless you plan in wiring direct.

Took 220v 50 gallon of the grid!
The electric was always throwing breakers, and the water would get too hot! I put things off quite well. Got a deal on line for this unit. Had a plumber give me a quote on installing it with me buying it, 650-850 and I buy all materials. This was my first soldering job ever. I also relocated mine, so the cost was probably more then yours will be. I have 1650-1700 in my do it yourself deal. I adjusted the temp down to where it was a good shower temp. 116 works good. No need for hotter. If you are ... read more unsure of soldering, use the "shark bite" connectors and corners. I ran black gas pipe, installed a cut-off, nipple, and completed with 3/4" flex copper pipe. Back to the shark bite items, I used them when I had leaks in my soldering. You do not adjust the water as you bathe, like hot water running low, it just wont happen! Thats why I adjusted as low as I could for a nice shower. I only have hot water when I need it. I do not keep 50 gallons hot on stand by 24/7. It is saving moneyright now doing nothing! Dont be afraid to install it yourself, make the wifey proud! I left my horizontal exhaust about 30" from the house over some shrubs, to keep steam away from siding. Use thin solder wire, melts easier!

Performs well, but I did my research and ordered one that was sized appropriately.
Works very well. Maybe a slightly longer delay in arrival of hot water but its one if those things you wouldn't notice unless you were looking for it. We run three showers simultaneiously with no problems. I measured the GPM needed at my house to run the biggest three water users (which turned out to be the showers), then ordered a unit that was slightly oversized. Installation was a pain. Nothing hooks up to previous tank waterheater so I had to reroute gas, electrical, hot water line, cold ... read more water line, exhaust duct and add an air intake duct, since I got the high efficiency modle. I installed myself, but wouldnt recommend except to advanced doityourselfers. It took some research to figure out the required water line configuration and valves. Over all we are happy with the performance. Looking forward to completing our first year so we can see how much gas we saved.

Performance excellent, customer service lower than expected
So far after installing this unit it has performed as advertised. We really can run 3 different facets or appliances at the same time. Water temperature at facet reaches desired temp much quicker than previous tankless heater we replaced. In short, it's a beast to be reconed with and has really sold us on the idea of saving money on our natural gas bills while adding real time value to our home in the event we ever decided to sell, which we won't.

My first experience with a tankless water heater. This unit works nice, no issues. Unfortunately it just got damaged by a lightning strike.

    This is an EXCELLENT Product
I have been researching Tankless Water Heaters since they first came onto the market. I did not purchase one until I read the specifications on this model, and I was immediately sold. I knew from the very beginning that this product would be difficult to install because of the plumbing involved. I hate plumbing because it requires so many skills to do it. I prefer electronics, but have the skill for doing the necessary plumbing for the installation of this product. The notes on the box were to ... read more say the least just a little scary because they want to make sure that everything should be right before you even open the box to start the install. You tend to get the feeling that you might have purchased a boat anchor if you do not understand the requirements of the product. Otherwise you should hire a professional plumber before you even purchase it. Read the Installation and Owners manual before you purchase this product, and make sure that you understand the installation and requirements if you are going to install it yourself, because the level of difficulty is extreme if you have no experience. I got the product installed, and the natural gas connected. It took a few seconds for the unit to power up, which was a little unsetteling at first, but when it did I was very pleased and impressed with its performance. The reason that I purchased this particular model was the fact that the flow rate to activate the burner was .4gpm which is extremely low. All previous models that I researched were beyond the rate my plumbing would provide. It was also great to vent because it only requires 2 1/2 to 3 inch PVC pipe which can be run out the side of the enclosure and not through the roof. You do have to provide a plastic hose to run into a sewer drain for the condensate because of its acidic properties. The unit activates easily, and is so sensitive that if you turn a faucet on for a second, the unit sees the flow, and powers up the burner. The hot water provided is consistent in temperature, and there is very little depletion in flow if you are running the hot water in a sink, and the washing machene kicks on to fill with hot water. The water stays at the set temp. I would recommend purchasing the next size up of this model if you have a large residence or use tremendous amounts of hot water at the same time as a large family would require. I also added a Uninteruptable Power Supply on the 110v supply because this unit is full of electronics, and I do not want the power company power to cause the circuit board to fry requiring a professional to come and replace it. Also I am going to add an electronic water softner on the cold water input side to eliminate slime and scale from the city water to foul the equipment. All in all, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND purchasing this product because from its performance over the last week since I finished installing it have been truly satisfying.

    Love it
So much better than having a water tank that you have to pay to keep the water hot all the time. This is a good investment.

    Hesitant to try this install
A little hesitant to attempt this install after talking to plumbers but pleasantly surprised that it went well. A little time & patience, a few adjustments and it is working great. Highly recommend if you are comfortable working with gas & water lines. Disappointed that the rebate offered was only available if installed by a licensed contractor (should have read the fine print better!) but still a good value.

    Very good product
It was very easy to install and simple to set up (water lines and gas hooked up; electrical connected to the unit and the thermostat set to 120; and vent space). It heats up quickly, therefore, little water would be wasted. I would highly recommend this product.

    Endless hot water
Very easy to install . But it would have been nice if the instructions showed that you need 2 45's to get the vents close enough together so they match the wall cover.
