    best purchase ever
How easy is installing batteries and placing them where needed. I live in a condo and any water damage is my responsibility this is the best way to save my investment

    Leak alarm
I bought 6 of these do-dads a month ago I suppose. Once I installed the batteries I checked each of them to ensure that they worked. All of them passed the test. Alarm is LOUD! I have no idea what people are saying about not being loud... Anyway, piece of mind. I am a Journeyman plumber, so water is always on my mind.

works fine, just not terribly loud
The alarm works fine - it triggers immediately if water contacts its base, and stops if you pick it up. It's just not terribly loud. I'll use it in the basement but doubt I'd hear it if I'm upstairs. The pitch is fairly high so your ability to hear it depends on your age and degree of high-frequency hearing loss. At 63 my hearing is still pretty good but this alarm probably seems louder to a younger person.

The Copper pipe was a perfect fit
The product was perfect size and fit. It was a breeze to work with and install. Thanks

    Best water heater connector
I recommend to have the copper water connector for water heater. It's easy and no leak! Thank Home Depot.

    Better then stainless steel
If you need a water heater connector go with copper instead of the stainless steel connectors. I have had 2 of the stainless steel leak in about 2 years after they were installed. They both developed pin holes in the lining of the connector and water sprayed all over the place. In the store the workers will tell you they will last forever. They don't. The stainless steel might but the lining does not.

    makes it so easy
not much to say other than it is much easier to install a shark bite than to resolder pipes...I've never had a leak and I've been using these for water heaters, softeners, and filters.

    Excellant Product
Excellant product. Very easy to install. Almost no chance of error. I used this product during the installation of a water softener. The Shark Bite fittings are incredibly easy to use. It's nearly impossible to improperly install the fitting. The installation took only seconds and is leak free. I used this fitting with PEX pipe. I did the rest of the job using standard PEX fittings and compression rings. In hindsight, I would have used Shark Bite fittings for the entire project even dispite the higher cost.

    Very Good Product.
Absolutely no leaking, extremely tight fit, flexible. Had this installed for 3 weeks on my newly installed water softener. Wish they sold them in even longer lengths. When you install them, be sure to put them in locations/positions that affords you some room/leverage if you ever need to remove them. Takes lots of effort to remove. But, hopefully, you will not have to remove them. The small U shaped tool used for removal takes some effort to push the hose loose so you need to have room for ... read more leverage. But overall, the push to fit hose is an extremely great product.

    Works Good in Cabin
The Drain pain fit perfectly in the corner for new hot water heater I helped installed. It was easy to install a hose through the floor to drain for the over-flow.

    This pan fits perfectly.
Made of plastic so it won't rust. It was the perfect size we were looking for when we replaced our water heater.

    Plastic Drain Pan
I thought it was a good idea and a good product. easy to install and gives us greater security in preventing leaks

    IMPORTANT NOTE FOR SUCCESSFUL USE!
Yep, just as the last review suggests: DO NOT USE THE SUPPLIED TEFLON TAPE TO ATTACH THE ACTUAL HOSES to the threaded stub-outs or to the heater! It is included for use on ONLY the adapters (WHICH DEPENDING ON YOUR SET-UP MAY NOT BE NEEDED)! This rule of thumb applies on all hoses with rubber washers in every plumbing instance in your home. Teflon tape is also a very powerful and easy way to seal threaded connections, and a variety of them across the spectrum of fittings used in a modern ... read more home...Like if you need the adapters in this kit! In nearly all instances that means 1-2 wraps around the pipe thread. While not as important, if you wrap in the direction the threaded fitting will travel (for instance if the threaded pipe is stubbed out from the wall as you face it, it would mean you'd start the tape wrap from the top or left side of the pipe thread as it faces you-- and wrap either from the front portion to the rear of the thread section in clockwise manner Again, one or two "snug" wraps around the threaded portion is all that is needed for clean non damaged threaded stub outs....any more than that actually defeats the purpose of the tape. Many folks pull teflon tape when the wrap is complete...just cut it clean. Pulling it may may the wrap uneven and thin in sections.. and remember, if you look at a fitting such as these on the supplied hoses and see a round washer inserted into the fitting that is flat on the top and bottom, like you've seen many times on say your garden hose... DO NOT USE THE TAPE! Use the tape on the adapter - and only the one side that attaches to your copper or galvanized stub-out. More on hose fittings: Hand tighten those fittings snug and then give a gentle but firm 1/4 to 1/2 turn with a SMOOTH wrench (crescent wrench typically for most homeowners). Do not use an adjustable wrench or pipe wrench with grooves or cuts on the face if you can avoid it- why? They tend to mar the surface of the fitting (sure not a huge deal...but i personally think that is unnecessary...the other reason is that when working in a tight area that may exist in the space above the heater- like in a small outdoor water heater shed...some folks miss the fitting a bit- and tear the braided section or sometimes actually damage the pipe threads on the copper stubb-out on accident if approached at a bad angle initially...they also provide less clearance with their longer handles making it more difficult to turn in the closed areas. Another tip or two: Make sure when you connect these two fittings (from the stub-outs protruding from the wall to the heater) the hose you purchase is longer than you think you need. That's why this kit has a longer hose...you may need even longer than this kit provides! Sure, that distance from the wall to the top of the heater pipes may look like a short 8" 90 degree turn because it is- but ditching this kit and purchasing shorter hoses individually may seem like a good idea, but in doing so a shorter hose may be tough for some to attach to the stub-out and then bend to attach to say the heater. It may also bend too much, which tightens the hose up and diminishes water flow thru it. A longer hose simply provides more flexibility for this process...it also allows the ability to drain and then turn a water heater for service (again in an outdoor shed the control unit may facing the front left corner of the shed door for clearance purposes as the new controllers project a bit further from the heater than the old mechanical ones with a pilot light ignition) without having to detach the connections. In short: a longer hose is far easier to attach for two reasons- they are more flexible, and give you a few more options to turn the hose to fit without kinking it. NOW WHILE LONGER MAY BE BETTER....DO NOT LET YOUR FANCY BRAIDED HOSE LOOP REST NEXT TO THE HOT VENT PIPE ETC. Also a longer braided hose allows you to gently "tug" on the hose as the hose fitting is hand tightened. This is important as it allows even pressure along the flat facing rubber washer as it draws closer while being tightened inside the fitting- making the seal work as intended inside the fitting. It also allows you to hand tighten til snug with little effort! Again, a gentle pull on the braided hose as you hand tighten each fitting allows a better seal and an easier time hand tightening it!. One more time- cause many folks will be tempted despite the warnings! No teflon tape on the threaded pipe that the hose fittings (that's both ends) attach to! No no no!

    Handy kit
This kit worked very well with my water heater connections.

    Response to JCRenfro
These supply lines use rubber washers inside the female fitting, when Novices tighten the fittings too tight they damage the washer and the fittings leak... bad! You never use teflon tape, pipe dope, or sealers of any kind on rubber washer fittings. Tighten them just past hand tight, then test. Rookie mistake!

    good price
using these to hook up a hot water tank was a breeze the price wasn't bad if you compare to a copper fitting (the price for a copper fitting to hook up to a tank is super inflated because they know you have to buy them) this is only a few dollars more than one fitting and no sodering hooked up my new tank in less than 1/2 hour

This product will save you from hiring a plumber
I love shark bite. They are the best thing since sliced bread. The is no need to solder, just cut your pipe to the correct length and push together. They are a bit pricey but a plumber is a lot more. That's if you can get one to do a small job. Thanks shark bite

    Need this for hard water
Our water comes out of the well with lots of minerals. It goes through a filter system and is injected with soda ash to increase the pH. Particles of soda ash make it to the water heater which is only a few feet away from the injection point. This filter is complete with everything you need to keep your water heater from clogging, whether it is our unique situation or simply water with sediment in it. Obviously it installs in the cold water side of your water heater. The inlet and outlet are ... read more both threaded to 3/4". The cap is plumbed into your line (both sides are clearly marked for inlet and outlet) and the bracket to attach it to the wall is supplied. A check valve is needed to prevent thermal expansion and it is not supplied but is readily available at most hardware stores. The lower part of the unit screws off with a cute wrench that reminds me of an oil filter wrench. The filter just sits inside the canister - you pluck it out when you need a new one which costs about $50 at Home Depot. The pressure gauge screws into the top. There is also a pressure relief valve built into the top which aids in releasing pressure when you have to change the filter. We haven't had to change the filter yet, but it's a piece of cake with this setup. One key element is an o-ring that must be used between the housing and the top to prevent leaks, but it also supplied of course - you just have to be sure it is in place.

    Insurance more or less...
I got two sizes so my reviews for each will be close to the same since they are "like" parts just different size. This is more or less insurance for your water heater and will be hard to tell if it is actually working to protect...much like insurance. Install is easy peasy and no different than a regular water filter with the exception of the top mounted pressure gauge which is a nice feature but you likely already them in your system near a holding tank or a jet pump like we have but it tells ... read more you the pressure after the water passes the internals but pressure in a closed system should be nearly the same everywhere you measure it. Unlike many water filters, this one come WITH a mounting plate, screws and a wrench which many, if not all, water filters cost extra at a premium. Lastly, I notice no difference with flow at all either. With that, there really is not much more to say except hopefully this is good silent cheap insurance for the water heater...time will tell but will we ever actually know is the question.

    Simple valve replacement.
This simple replacement fixed the leak that the old valve developed.

    Easy installation
This was a replacement on my existing water heater. The relief valve had been replaced once already, so I stepped up to this slightly more expensive version. The male threads have sealant on them already, so installation was as simple as removing the old one, cleaning the tank threads, and installing the new valve. Perfect fit, and leak free the first time, with no re-tightening necessary. We'll see how long this one holds up, but I expect it to last the life of the (13-year-old) tank.
