    Another quality Milwaukee tool
Milwaukee says that this M18 FUEL Drill / Driver is the Most Powerful 18-Volt cordless drill on the market. At only 7 1/2 in. in length, it is the Most Compact drill in its class. I have no reason to doubt this claim. You need only to pickup this tool to feel the quality. I own a few 18 volt battery operated drills from various manufacturers and this one, with the XC 4.0 Ah battery I supplied, is superior in all regards. As one would expect from a tool of this quality it has a variable speed ... read more trigger, a built-in LED work light, a removable side handle which is reversible right or left, a belt clip, a bit holder, two speed settings and an all-metal ratcheting locking adjustable clutch. The brushless motor delivers up to 1200 in. lbs. of peak torque and up to 2000 RPM. My drill arrived completely assembled except for the side handle. The instructions say to, "Loosen the side handle grip until the hooks are far enough apart to fit into the slots on the gear case ring." I struggled with this for 10 minutes and couldn't get any part of the handle to budge. Finally, out of desperation, I locked it in a vise and twisted. I was either going to break it or get it to open. It opened. These parts must be machine tightened. This fairly heavy 1/2 in. drill / driver is best suited for mid-sized jobs. I use small 12 volt drill / drivers for light-duty work and I have the Milwaukee Hole Hawg for heavy-duty work. The only real complaints you'll find online about battery operated tools in general have to do with poor battery performance. I won't buy anything that comes with NiCad batteries anymore, lithium-ion is the only way to go, they are far superior. I think the biggest problem is that users are treating their lithium-ion batteries as they were taught to care for their NiCad batteries. They're two different animals and need to be cared for differently. I found the following use and care tips on the Internet. 1: Keep your batteries at room temperature. That means between 68 and 77 degrees F. The worst thing that can happen to a lithium-ion battery is to have a full charge and be subjected to elevated temperatures. So don't leave your battery in your car if it's hot out. Heat is by far the largest factor when it comes to reducing lithium-ion battery life. 2: Avoid charging a hot battery. Whether from heavy usage or hot storage it's best to allow the battery to cool down before attempting to charge it. I normally try to cycle three batteries during the work day. One in the tool, one cooling down and one on the charger. 3: Allow partial discharges and avoid full ones (usually). We were taught to run our NiCads all the way down before giving them a full charge. With lithium-ions it's better to recharge before the battery is exhausted and partial charges are no problem since these don't have a memory. 4: Avoid completely discharging lithium-ion batteries. It's time to cool down and then recharge them when you detect the battery is providing less than optimal performance. 5: For extended storage, discharge a lithium-ion battery to about 40 - 50 percent and store it in a cool place. Storing a battery in the discharged state can push it to the point where it won't recharge, and storing a battery fully charged can shorten its life. I have many lithium-ion powered tools and other devices and as of yet I haven't been disappointed with battery performance. I attribute this to proper care. Milwaukee includes a 5 year limited warranty to the original purchaser. I own a number of Milwaukee tools and I couldn't be happier with their performance and durability.

    Great addition to the lineup.
I have an array of Milwaukee tools in my shop and this drill is a welcome addition. Just like clamps, you can never have too many drills in my opinion. It's neither fun nor efficient to perform an operation, then stop, change bits and perform the next operation. I'm a woodworking hobbyist and one of the things I like to build is humidors. Over the years I've developed a custom made wooden hinge system that I use in most of my boxes. They are big and ornamental. I screw them to the box and hide ... read more the screws with wooden plugs. to work efficiently I need three drills at the ready. One holds the screw driver bit, one holds the forstner bit that drills the hole for the wood plug and one holds a 7/32 bit that drills a pilot hole for the screw. If I install the screw with too much force, it breaks the hinge. The clutch system on this drill allows me to apply enough force to get the screw in and seated without applying too much force. Milwaukee makes the best tools out there in my opinion. I highly recommend them.

Light weight, well-built, performs well, great warranty
I’ve owned many Milwaukee tools and have never been disappointed. Working experience with this drill wasn’t any different after all. It got great ergonomics, soft handle feels good in hands. Belt clip and bit holder comes pre-installed and perfectly located. Its light weight, very compact and delivers when matters. I’ve used it in a variety of projects, pretty much all on the pressure treated material and some on sheetrock and stainless steel. No disappointment of any sort. Driving 3” lag ... read more screws in rafters or running an inch and half spade bit for conduits or using it with 54” cable bit to run wires from floor to floor or drilling into a 16 gauge sink and much more, it performed just as I expected “Superb”. The torque setting on this drill ranges 2- 24 which pretty much covers all general drilling/driving tasks. The drilling or driving mode can easily be set by a simple rotation of the dial. It comes with a side handle which can be attached or removed without any tool. Though I prefer working without the handle but it sure adds much needed moment arm where I can apply extra force. On the front area, a small LED lights up the work area and that had been very handy in tight and shaded areas. I’ve been using this drill with “48-11-1840” M18 Red Lithium XC 4.0. It’s a “Tool Only” and does not come with any battery, charger or carrying case. It’s a great fit for someone who already owns the charger and batteries. I would not recommend buying all separate (battery, charger and drill). Milwaukee sells the kits that come with everything included and it costs a lot less than buying separately. It comes with 5 years warranty so buy it with confidence, you will not be disappointed.

    Great drill
This drill looks, feels, and functions "quality". Trigger speed control is excellent, drilling torque is super, and handling, while on the heavy side, is nevertheless a pleasure. It's weakest point is use as a driving device, because it is so good as a drill that you will tend to hit the screw too hard and too fast. You have to hold back from pushing on the trigger too hard. I prefer a slow speed, lower torque battery operated driver. However, if you want a great everyday day drill, get this one.

3/8 IN. 2,800 RPM TRADESMAN DRILL
Best drill out there can be beat 2800 RPM i have two of them now and no problem from ether one couldn't be happier. I work in a control panel shop and have drilled hundreds of holes with it never failed me once.

    Overall good drill
Burned out my old drill trying to drill holds in vehicle frame. This one was suggested at the home center, so I bought it. I first used it for some light duty wood drilling for other projects, and it worked great. Once. Then the chuck started coming apart. And it was very difficult to turn. I had things to get done, so I didn't take the time to return it. Now I have to hold the chuck together to change bits. But otherwise it is a great drill. Best I've owned in the past 40+ years. Plenty of ... read more power, easy to modulate speed, comfortable to grip and use.

awesome power in a small package
I'm pretty impressed with this drill. It's small (6.9in), lightweight (3.5lbs), and has snap your wrist power. The kit comes with two Lithium-ion batteries, a charger and a case. The batteries take a full charge and hold it for hours. I haven't drained one yet in a work session, and they have a charge gauge on them so you generally get an idea of how much charge is left. This is a nice feature that most manufacturers are including now, but one that's been needed for decades. It has a metal ... read more chuck that is easy to lock/unlock and it grips well and holds on. The brushless motor runs well and produces more than enough torque for any application (I think it's rated at 620 ft.lbs.). The LED light is multi functional, you can leave it on as a spotlight and it will shut off automatically after 20min. This is actually a nice feature and I could see it being useful under a cabinet or in a crawlspace. It's always good to not have to lug an extra tool into tight/dark spaces. Overall I'm very happy with this drill and recommend it. Quality is good and it should last 3-5 years as a daily workhorse. Longer if you don't use it professionally.

    Great Drill
In needing to replace my old Snap-on 12 Volt cordless drill and many hours of researching the internet I did purchase the Dewalt 20 volt Max Brushless drill/driver kit. To date I am extremely happy with everything about it. It’s a small drill but big on power. Used it for Kreg jig drilling and assembly. In addition to the dual range gearing, the torque adjustment collar is great for not stripping out the wood or screws. Longer battery life is very noticeable. Lighting on a drill works very nice. ... read more Not often that I would say "It was worth what I paid for it".

    A fresh design from Dewalt!
I've been known to call power tools "sexy" a time or two, and this drill is fits the bill. To be honest, it's not really an adjective I would typically use for Dewalt. Well built, durable, long lasting - yes; sexy, not so much. I think of Dewalt as my father or grandfathers brand. There's nothing wrong with that, it's just not exciting. But this drill finally has a fresh design and some innovation. It looks great, the grip is very comfortable, and of course it performs well. The innovative ... read more part is the attached light. Not only does it have three brightness settings, it is moved to an entirely new spot that works so much better! It is now located at the base of the drill, so it shines the light very nicely at the target area without weird shadows, and very rarely does anything get in the way. A couple other things to note: -The carrying case has a very efficient design. It is much smaller than you'd think, but has all the space necessary for the drill, the charger, and two batteries. -I love having battery indicator lights on batteries. It's so easy to tap the button and see how much power it has left. I like this drill a lot - highly recommended!

    Very happy with this
I'm using it for light home improvement and am very happy, especially with it's relatively light weight

    A very useful tool
I bought this Dewalt drill because of it's name and reputation. Because it came with two lithium batteries, I don't have to recharge the batteries so often.

    just what I need.
I'm replacing my old 12 volts w/2 batteries pack DeWalt cordless drill with this one more powerful. I'm using my hard case from my old drill instead of the soft drill included with this one.

    Great tool addition
This was a real no-brainer. I needed a right angle drill at a fairly inexpensive price and this is what I found. It is ideal for the hobbyist or the avid craftsman. Easy to use, good and durable, good price and most of all easy to read and follow user's manual.

    Really good tool
I have had this tool for over a year now. It does great things but with the oscillating head, the battery is very short lived...get a few batteries. It works great for cutting drywall, which is what I am typically using this head for. I also have the impact head, which is awesome all around, especially since I can get into alot tighter places than my Ridgid X4 impact. I also have the 3/8" right angle it is a great attachment that gets used alot as well with what I do everyday. I have noticed ... read more that the battery life is alot better with the impact and the 3/8" drive than the oscillating head. But if you are comparing it to the Bosch...its $100 cheaper, lighter, uses a trigger not a momentary switch, which makes it ALOT easier to use, you can adjust the angle of the Ridgid head unlike the Bosch too. With the money you save you can buy a 2nd battery for $39 and still be cheaper than the best competitor which is the Bosch...definately recommend even with the short battery life!

    Heck of a tool
I'm between houses, fixing one to sell, fixing one to move into. I use this at one house and a battery powered drill/screw driver at the other. It works flawlessly! I have the other heads so it saves me a lot of carrying back and forth. The only problem is I bought two heads at the same time on the same receipt. When I tried to register on line, Rigid only picked up the one. Then I had to send in all the paper work to get the other one registered for the life time warranty. Can't beat life time!

    Light weight Heavy duty drill
Don't be fooled by the 9.6 volt battery on this drill. It is in a class by itself. I have a small woodworking shop and need a light drill, not one of the heavy 18 volt drills. There is plenty of torque and battery life with this drill. Do not discount this drill just because it is 9.6 volts. This drill does not make my wrist tired after a daily use. The 1 hour charger that comes with the kit has automatic tuneup for the batteries. It has a 3 year warranty, so what else do you need.

    Great drill, easy to use
I love this drill. Great power for the size, and the battery life is decent. I would redesign the case it comes with, as it's hard to fit everything back into place. But, overall, very happy with the value of this drill.

    Excellent Selection
As a senior citizen and being a female, I was hesitant about purchasing this product. To my surprise I found the DEWALT9.6-Volt Ni-Cad Cordless 3/8 in. Compact Drill and Driver Kit very easy to use and the charge time was unbelievably fast.

Might Mite - Nice little tool
I received this tool as a test tool. I put it through the ringer hanging pictures, doors, building things, even driving drywall screws and it worked flawlessly. I used and abused it and it held up. It has a ton of torque for such a small size and the battery lasted longer than I did. I was particularly impressed with using it to finish set drywall screws to the proper depth when the drywall screw gun stopped short.

Screwy, but in a good way
When you have easy access to medium-duty tasks that require a screw driver, this handy li'l guy from Skil answers the call. Leave it charging until you're ready to use it (lithium ion batteries don't need to be babied), then take it to the job. Pull back the loading slider, squeeze the trigger to light up the viewing window and dial up the bit you need (flat-head, Phillips, Torx, square). Push the slider forward and you're ready. Although it lacks variable speed control, you can compensate with ... read more short bursts of the trigger. Best of all, the bits you need most often are always there, and you don't have to grab (and possibly lose) multiple screwdrivers.

Nice and simple tool that works!
I have been trialing this tool for about a month and have used it on several projects around the house. I found it very easy to use, and very handy to have all the different bits that you would typically need built in. It is very easy to switch bits and the battery has lasted for a long time, I actually have been using it on and off for a month and the low battery light indicator just started to come on the other day. Overall for a simple screw driver it is a nice tool.

    Excellent Purchase
Great drill. Its the first drill that I personally buy for myself. Seems to have plenty of power for all my projects, whether in the house or my vehicles. Highly recommend it.

    Excellent torque and power.
great drill but due to weight, when using it to as a screwdriver I keep depressing the trigger while trying to keep it raised, then I have to wait for it to stop spinning before I can start driving the screws.

    Milwaukee tools are the best!
I bought this Milwaukee drill because I needed a powerful portable drill motor ( Non-battery powered) to use at home. I have used the same model drill motor at work for many years and have never had a problem with it and it has always performed well for me. I feel very conffident that I can expect the same perfomance from this new drill motor I just purchased from Home Depot.
