    Awesome Tool!!!
I used this Grinder to remove thinset on my bathroom floor. Kit included 5" Diamond Turbo Wheel, dust shroud, hose connector, and bag. I was able to remove the thin set on concrete floor. Only dust that escaped was when grinder wasn't flush w/ surface. I connected the grinder to my shop vacuum with two hoses thru the window to keep the vac outside. Worked like a charm! The only problem I had was trying to remove thinset along the walls. Opening the edge guard defeated the vacuum capability and ... read more filled the room with concrete dust.

Exactly what I was looking for...
I have done several remodel jobs that had old tile that needed to be removed and new tile installed. The removal of the old tile was never a problem, however, the remaining thin set was always an issue. Well, not anymore. The job had approximately 110 sq. ft. of tile, it took me about 30 minutes to completely and successfully remove the old thin set. I will say that the dust is very fine and you will need to change your vac filter a lot more than normal (I had to 3 times during this job). the ... read more vacuum port I would estimate collected 95% of the dust produced, great job DeWalt!

Works Well for Removing Paint from CMU Blocks
In preparation for repair, for I used it to remove epoxy paint from concrete blocks on a basement wall. Dust was a big concern. I used duct tape to attach a hose to the fitting supplied in the kit. As shipped, the dust shield on the grinder is not effective. I had to remove washers and use some washers I had to adjust the height of the diamond grinding cup so it was located just below the height of the "hula skirt" around the perimeter of the dust shield. After I did that, the dust shield worked ... read more really well if I was sure to keep it pressed tightly against the concrete block wall. NOTE: Empty the shop vac often. If you are grinding concrete indoors, you need a HEPA filter and a (wood shop) dust collector running on high speed ....or be prepared for much cleaning and dusting the entire house afterward! One little slip where the hula skirt leaves the surface and the diamond grinding cup kicks up a dust storm! Another NOTE: the store Ad needs to be clear on exactly what the customer will receive for their purchase.

    a superior tool
I have been switching over from milwaukee to makita because the makita battery lasts so long. I charge mine, put it on the truck, use it once or twice, let it sit for a month, come back and pick it up, and the tool runs full steam. dont know what this guy below is talking about 3 minutes. this is the best cordless set up out there.

    18v bare tool grinder
It is good for quick jobs, but if you have a lot of grinding to do it is better using a corded tool.

    Buying for clients.
Bought to use on truck day to day. Been using Makita products for 33+ years. This generation of 18v Li-Ion is the greatest yet. I keep a Makita 120 Volt on the truck as well, but this one gets the most use because of convenience. It does drain batteries fast, but not unreasonably for the power it outputs. Perhaps the next generation will replace line power tools completely, but for now this comes close enough when used within reason.

A nice addition to my tool collection
I have found this grinder to be a solid addition to my tool collection. It is relatively light weight and has a good feel to it. The motor feels powerful and smooth running. I like the adjustable positioning of the blade guard to allow for grinding at several different angles. There are several optional (not included) blades that can perform cutting and grinding of several types of materials. So far, I have only used this grinder to trim metal, but I am looking forward to trying my hand at ... read more ceramic cutting in the future. I have used several Bosch tools and this grinder is of the same high quality that other Bosch equipment produces. While you don't always have a need for this type of equipment, when you do, this is the one to have. I am very happy with this grinder.

    Not just a grinder
The Bosh grinder has been around awhile. This one has some newer features that make it very useful. You can angle the grinding action to be more job specific. By doing this they have made a great tool BETTER. Do not hesitate to buy this. It is a GREAT addition to your tools

    SMOOTH
This is one of the best grinders I have ever used. Bosch makes some the most durable grinders on the market. I noticed the difference right away in that this grinder doesn't vibrate your hand to sleep. It is very powerful and doesn't bog down like many others on the market.

    Great tool for the money
The grinder is very versatile and easy to switch tool heads. I really like the fact there is no cord to get in the way. Highly recommend this tool to anyone.

Keys? We don't need no stinking keys!
Lost the darn keys to the padlock on the fence gate. This solved that problem :). These are handier than you can imagine. Well worth the money. Not quite as compact my corded angle grinder. But being cordless sure saves me a lot of hassle when I need to cut something in a pinch. I have the rest of the Max 20 tools , batteries and chargers so this bare tool was a bargain.

    20-Volt Max Lithium-Ion 4-1/2 in. Cordless Grinder
Compact, handy and plenty of power with the 20v Li-ion battery. Easy to carry in a small bag with extra cutting/grinding wheels.

    great grider
use at work for grinding steel.my first cordless grinder and it exceeded my expectations. I like not being connected to an extension cord or an air line. The grinder makes my job go faster.

The best of 2014 cordless grinder! Ever!
I used it to cut plenty of c-channel, thick of 1/4"~3/8", and grinding the rusted metal. I had to make 10' x 20' x 12' metal box for the auto machin tools' cases. Instead of running all the extension cords in 60,000sq.ft facitility to do my job, this is a time saver and never drop its RPM at last cutting performance. It either work or stop for a battery replacement,

    Innovative design with awesome power
This Milwaukee product delivers an innovative design, awesome power, ease of use, mobility, safety and durability. Installation of patio pavers was backbreaking work but this tool performed above expectation with the 4 ½” diamond wheel (not included) in cutting 2” pavers and cleaning mortar from bricks on the perimeter benches. It had exceptional power and the cordless design made maneuverability limitless. With battery, guard and wheel attached, the unit did not feel heavy on the arms. The ... read more controlled start feature reduced the torque reaction and allowed better handling when engaged. The side handle could be adjusted to a 180 or 360 degree angle which made the unit flexible and prevented awkward postures. An overload protection mechanism shuts off the tool when over-heated especially when using excessive pressure and compared to other grinders used, it did not kick in the overload every 5 seconds. The switch lock on the paddle prevents unintentional trigger of the wheel and the included 4 ½” and 5” guards protect from flying particles which is an additional safety feature. Changing the guard or angle of the guard does not require any tools, which is a plus. The extra battery kept up with the longevity of the project and I appreciated the on board power status button. Also, the charger took about 45 minutes to charge a fully drained battery. The storage/carrying case is top quality and all components fit well. The User Manual offers great safety information for a DIYer like me. A one-time investment that is built to last that is worth every penny. It would’ve been exceptional if the side-handle and wheels could be replaced through hyper connectivity mechanism just like drill bit snaps into the impact driver but irrespective I am absolutely thrilled to own it and unquestionably recommend it for extreme DIYers and professionals.

    Bang for buck.
I work with steel everyday and use multiple attachments. Having a grinder for each helps save time and for this price you can't go wrong. I've used tons of grinders and I choose dewalt bc they have a shorter body which creates less tendency to kick. I always make sure they have a paddle switch because they don't take any more grip strength or endurance needed while holding it, and if it does kick into your clothing it keeps you out of trouble by shutting off as soon as you let it go. I only ... read more give 4 stars instead of 5 bc of the amps. I've never burnt one out but if you dig into these and don't let the grinder do the work you certainly will burn it out. At 2 for $100 though it's far from a complaint, I currently have 4.

A solid grinder for the M18 family
This review is a comparison between the last generation wired Milwaukee 4 1/2" grinder and their latest M18 cordless offering. I've used a Milwaukee angle grinder for everything from cutting & grinding concrete to smoothing out rough-cut metal. Unlike a drill or a saw that operates linearly, a grinder needs the freedom to change angles quickly and often as an operator makes changes and adjustments to the workspace on the fly. This presents a perfect opportunity to go cordless, and Milwaukee has ... read more taken the bait. PACKAGING The Milwaukee 2780-20 grinder comes with a chuck tool, one battery, one charger, and a wider guard for thicker grinding disks and brushes. The first thing that immediately caught my eye was the single battery. I am a big advocate of two batteries, so that when one runs out, you've got a charged one ready to go. But my concerns were alleviated when i realized that this was an M18 product. More on that below. One thing that was obviously absent was any actual disks to go with this grinder. This means that to actually USE this grinder, you need to go out and buy the grinding disks and cutoff wheels you need. Not a big deal, as every user will buy this for a different reason. Another thing that is immediately evident is the size of this case. Measuring at 18.5" x 14.5", this thing is a small suitcase, in stark comparison with the cardboard box my last grinder came in. As you can see, the charger takes up the a large portion of of the case. M18 TECH This grinder features the much touted Milwaukee M18 battery 18V technology. Featuring low temperature operation and double the lifetime of competing products, the M18 battery line is sure to please. There are close to a dozen tools featured in the Milwaukee cordless tool line that make use of these M18 batteries. The Red Lithium (LiIon) Battery pack has a fantastic feature where with the press of a button, you can see the battery level of the battery pack. This means you'll never be caught off guard with a dead battery in the middle of a project. No need to carry spare batteries with you to the work site. The downside is that these batteries are pretty hefty in weight. One XC4.0 battery (included) weights a whopping pound and a half. Additionally, the chargers are meant to be universal for all of the M12 & M18 product lines, meaning that they'll be unusually large, and host additional charging ports that are of no use for this product. GRINDER COMPARISON The M18 cordless grinder weights in at nearly 6 LBs (!) which is noticeably more than his cordless sibling (4.5 LBs). However, when you remove the M18 battery, the grinder's weights are nearly identical. Unfortunately, this means that your arm will become fatigued quicker with the cordless model in exchange for the cordless freedom. Another feature is that the cordless grinder accommodates up to a 5" grinding disk/wheel. The corded version maxes out at 4.5." However, Home Depot only caries 4.5" disks, so i'm not sure this is much of a benefit. The cordless unit is also over 2" longer, mostly to accommodate a better sense of balance in the unit. PERFORMANCE This is my first M18 tool. I wasn't sure what to expect. However, i'm quite pleased with the performance. I had no problem cutting concrete with a cutoff disk. The battery held up to quite a load, and didn't excessively strain the motor with even a large amount of pressure against the concrete. The cordless freedom is definitely appreciated, as you have limitless range and mobility. The all rubber grip allows for easy holding of the grinder. There is no kickback when powering on this tool. However, this unit is surprisingly noisy for a battery operated tool. SUMMARY From what i can tell, this cordless unit works just as well as its corded brethren. The M18 battery technology is impressive in its longevity. But then again, it should be for its size and weight. This mobility comes at a price premium. The grinder itself is well balanced, and easily usable. But at over 16" long, it is unwieldy without the handle installed. Surprisingly loud for a battery operated unit. The extremely large plastic case comes with an oversize charger, yet doesn't have much room to store spare disks & wheels. Overall, a solid addition to the M18 family.

    good as advertised
So far so good, I have tore up some grinding wheels cutting old steam heat pipes and the battery lasts longer than the wheels.

    good grinder
the safety switch could be more convenient and I haven't yet had the time to really test the tool. I think reviews would be of more value 6months or a year after purchase to see how a product is holding up.

    One bad point
There is one item with this which is not an quality issue but a poor design thing. The guard has a plate which wraps around the front of the disc and allows only enough room to install only the thin cut off disc. A grinding disc or buffing wheel "flap disc" can not be used. I have other commercial grinders with an open face guard from the factory, so it's not an safety requirement. Once the the restrictive front cover was cut off, it became a 5 star tool. I would recommend this if one is willing ... read more to do this "non hazardous" modifcation.

    Great grinder for the money
The Milwaukee grinder has plenty of power. I mainly use it with 6" metal cutting disc. It will cut through metal like a hot knife slicing through soft butter
