Compact, Lightweight and powerful. Designed for use in tight spaces. Love it!
The compact design of this driver lets you get at nuts, bolts and threaded fasteners with ease. I find myself reaching for this driver in just about every situation requiring the use of a ratchet, wrench, drill or screwdriver. The ruggedized, ergonomically designed handle allows for on-hand operation, is comfortable for extended periods of use, and features a keyless chuck, large on/off compression trigger and LED light that illuminates your work. This kit includes a lithium-ion battery, charger
... read more station. and soft-sided nylon carrying case. The charger station, however, does not include a place to store the driver when not in use, which would have been convenient. Further, the battery must be removed from the tool in order to charge it, and no bits are included. Minor quirks aside, this driver is my ‘go-to’ tool for home improvement projects, as well as assembly and dissassembly of most everything, especially RTA furniture. An excellent choice for tight space. Its compact design means it takes up little space in my tool box. This driver is capable of doing jobs that ordinarily would require multiple tools. This driver from Milwaukee is one of my favorite tools. A worthwhile addition to your arsenal of tools.

Handy Tool with Limits
This right angle hex impact driver kit tool is handy to use but there’s not very much torque so sometimes I had to first loosen the bolt or nut with a wrench if it's on very tight. Works very well for what it is. Solid construction. The light on the front is handy. Battery life seems very good, I used it all day on various fasteners on my project on a single charge. Variable speed works well, but I'm mostly using it to save time and wear and tear on my wrists. It's a handy tool and works pretty

A blessing to have when you need it
I've been using this new M12 right-angle impact driver on the job for the last week or so, and I am very glad that I decided to add it to my arsenal. This durable, well-built and well-designed tool is a fantastic addition to the Milwaukee M12 line.
Just today, I used it to drive 3" drywall screws, installing blocking for my device boxes in some tight spots. The tool had no trouble driving them. In fact, with 50 ft/lbs of torque, it was pretty much effortless. I also used it installing some

With it's ability to hold 1" hex bits directly, without a bit holder - something I've never known any 1/4" hex driver to be able to do - it can really get you into some tight spaces. The tool is rugged, well-balanced. The extended paddle switch is a great feature, making it easy to trigger in a variety of positions. The ample rubber overmold helps ensure a good grip on the tool, and will be something I'm sure that I'll really appreciate come the heat of summer.
A free battery!! It's hard to beat a deal like this. Great value.

Replaced my other Cordless Drills
I saw a friend of mine using this tool and really liked it but could not justify buying one since I already had two cordless drills. One day I got impulsive and bought one. This has been the best purchase on any tool that I have made in a long long time.
This is a must have for all home owners. This thing effortlessly drives 3.5 inch screws in seconds compared to my old cordless drills: where I had to physically lean on the screws and hope that I did not slip out of the screw head and impale

I recently built a deck and this piece of equipment saved me sooooo much time and effort. The battery life is awesome. One battery lasted me most of the day just running screws. The quick charge system only takes about 30 minutes to fully charge the batteries back to a fully charged condition. I really like the three speed transmission. If doing delicate work, the slow speed is great, but when you need to drive those 3-4 inch screws, the fast speed does it in just seconds. I am buying another one for my father-in-law.

Great time saviing tool, makes your jobs easier!
I have had mine for almost a year now, I have screwed hundreds of screws in a day building a deck. I have drivin 8" timber locks and much longer. This tool will pay for it's self over and over. The free third battery is a good deal, but you will find you really don't need a third. Consider popping for the whole deal with the matching drill, my only regret is not buying them together. Batteries last a long time during use and charge quickly. You will come to use this tool for almost all assemply

This is the Makita LXT 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Oil-Impulse Brushless Cordless 3-Speed Impact Driver but it does not include the necessary 18v lithium ion battery nor the charger. Keep in mind the battery and charger will cost you a bit more if you are not already invested in the Makita battery powered tool eco-system.
Out of the box the driver is very compact and easy to handle so getting into tight spaces shouldn't be too difficult. The unit is very quite when in use compared to other impact
... read more drivers I have used. This is probably due to it being oil driven instead of mechanical impact. Power is more than sufficient for nuts and bolts that you would use with a 1/4" ratchet. Makita seems to list a max torque spec of 15 ft/lbs but my seat of the pants test feels like it is higher. Also, the manual seems to prefer listing bolt sizes instead of torque specs. Without test equipment I can't test this so I just have to go by what the manual states. The manual is very well written and detailed overall aside from that.
There is a single button located in front of the grip that allows you to turn the led light on and off as well adjust the speed of the driver. The light is handy when working in dark spaces and it will auto shut off after a few seconds of releasing the trigger.
The ring collar is very sturdy and holds the bits well if you are using the correct ones. Most bits will have the correct neck cut into the shank so that they can be secured. Unfortunately, my bit set did not have the correct design so I had to buy new ones to work with this driver. My old set is still usable but they are not secured into the driver and pull right out.
This is a well designed product and I wouldn't expect anything less from Makita, especially at this price point. It handles well, is quiet, and does the job. I honestly can't find anything to complain about with this product.

Full time use in manufacturing plant
We are upgrading from the previous generation at work, which performed so well and held up to constant use and abuse that I went out and bought a personal set. That said, those don't even hold a candle to these lil monsters and I am trying to get some sort of trade in rebate upgrade from our supplier for my personal set, because I love these things. I have driven plenty of 1/2" bolts (no torque necessary with a full hit) and then 5/8" - 1" before finishing them off with a 3/4" drive torque
... read more wrench and it is so much easier to carry while climbing around on a machine being assembled than the big heavy air impact with airlines that I have to keep swapping to reach various areas. Great battery life. Only drawback is that snapping the socket adapters is pretty common. Have yet to find ones that hold up. Top brand expensive ones don't perform any better than the midrange. Have snapped a few 3/8" grade 5 bolts with it.

Just bought this as a replacement for my last makita brushless drill. Couldnt find it in store so ordered it online. Shipping was really fast and the drill works great. Neat having adjustable settings for different jobs.
Having purchased the drill and flashlight combo at a good discount (return-used) and loving it (LOVE IT!), I had to break down and get the impact. No regrets. One small complaint- the onboard light doesn't remain lit for a period of time like the drill does on the one I got. Was probably mf'd in that brief period before that feature became a standard on most everything, but I can't say that for certain.
It's the first tool out of the bag on jobsites (after the thermos).

Powerful, compact, good price, good warranty
I bought this impact driver to compliment the Rigid drill that uses the same batteries (so I already had the batteries). I took it to work to use on some new equipment I'm building, and I must say it has quite a bit of power for it's size. Even when you don't need all of the power/force this is capable of, it still makes driving easier screws and bolts much easier than using a regular drill because the bit tends to not slip and strip out the screw head like it might with a drill.
I've only been

Powerful enought for almost every job
I already have the 18v impact driver. It is excellent, but too heavy and bulky to carry on a tool belt. I already have the 9v two speed drill too, but it doesnt' have enough grunt for driving long screws or bolts. The R8223N is an excellent companion to the drill. I wear one on each hip cowboy style and don't have to bother with changing drill bits and phillips bits. Battery life is extraordinary (the new improved ones).
Driver is used for both mechanical and fence/deck work. Have had this for nearly 6months now and I have decided it would be a great idea to invest in a second battery----> beware I would have given a five star rating but batteries are pricy compared to some other brands. Keep in mind it does excellent work. If this is used on a job site you may need a spare battery.

I have one of these.Works excellent.Giving it a Excellent Rating.
Love this, although got mine at a pawn shop.Ran across a deal on it there. But I Highly Recommened it.
Keep this in my tool bag. I use it for everything from stuck bolts to screwing in small screws. Now my favorite go to drill. Three speeds is a bonus .

The best tool i own
This impact changed how i work. A lot of these tools are similar, but there a few advantages to this one beyond the other brushless dewalt impact. It's so thin that it can get in great small places, and the chuck for bits is easily changed compared to every other brushless impact on the market. I dont ever want to be without this impact.

I strongly recommend this product, is very small and light weight
Awesome and powerful impact driver. The gun itself is a very manageable size and easy to maneuver. The battery seemed kind of big for the size of the gun but i rather have a battery that lasts longer. Has a LED light for better vision. Has a belt holder which is great for climbing ladders. Also has a spot to hold different heads. I wish it had a magnet somewhere to hold screws. Has easy to use buttons for power and settings. Does not come with battery but works with all M18 batteries,

Just worth every penny. I suggest getting the Gold Makita bits. Magnet is dope and they don't strip nearly as quick
