Say goodbye to stripped screws and damaged bits
I use tools all the time and have a large collection. It is very rare that i have come across a tool that is just perfect. This is one of them. If you have been using a regular drill/driver to drive screws, you are really missing out. Impact drivers do not strip screws, damage bits, or twist your wrist. This particular driver is amazing. The motor is brushless. The 2 speed clutch is electronic. There is an LED light on the tool that actually stays illuminated for a few seconds after releasing ... read more the trigger. Don't let the compact size fool you. This has all the power you would ever need. The tool comes with a very high quality plastic case. I normally throw away the cheap cases, but I am keeping this one. There are two batteries included and a charger. I can't comment on battery life yet because mine hasn't died! I have driven about 60 4" decking screws hanging some french cleats in my garage. The battery meter still shows half a charge. Batteries charge quickly, it takes about a half hour. I have used quite a few of these impact drivers, this one is by far the best design. You cannot go wrong with this tool.

    love this driver
There's always been something great about Milwaukee Tools and this hex driver doesn't dissapoint. It's very small and lightweight, but strong. It comes with two batteries and a nice case but I wish it came with a couple of hex bits too. Other than that there's nothing but good things about this. It has a trigger LED that illuminates and stays on for a few seconds after the trigger is released which is a nice touch if you need it to illuminate the area you're trying to get into. Because it's so ... read more light you don't get fatigued easily using it and it's a bear for strength. Two lithium batteries are great.

    I'm An Excellent Driver.....
Was so excited when I saw the package on the porch.. Love the on board fuel gauge... this tool weighs almost 6 oz. less than the one I previously kept in my tool pouch. built solid as a rock, and the light shines in exactly in the right place. As the building maintenance manager I will do most anything to cut down the weight of the amount of tools in my belt. But this is a great driver, with 2 speed choices for drilling or driving. Comes in handy from small work to driving 4 inch screws into ... read more pressure treated lumber without stalling.. as well as boring 1 1/2 inch holes into it. Great battery lasts a long time and I can carry a spare if i want and it will still weigh less than the other impact driver i had. Thank you Milwaukee for a compact strong driver that is ergonomically comfortable and goes a long way on a tank of fuel.....

    Great Impact tool
Powerfull 1/4" Impact driver. Plenty of power if you're driving hex head srews or bolts. If your driving Phillips or slotted scews be sure to push the driver hard into that screw head (Lots of power - almost too much torgue for a Phillips' or Slotted screw head - not a Bad thing!

    Good product
This is my first impact tool. Wish I had purchased it years ago. The warranty was an important factor in my purchase.

    Perfect
I used it to remove 24-2" screws on a door with 3 hinges and replaced them with 24- 2 1/2" screws. The driver backed out the tightly embedded screws without a problem & drove in the 2 1/2" screws snug. The quick release chuck allowed me to easily exchange the Philips head bit for the square drive bit. I also used this driver to assemble a trailer that would hook up to my farm tractor. I put a 3/4" socket with 1/2" drive onto a 1/4" hex adapter. The driver had plenty of power to secure all the ... read more nuts & bolts on the trailer, with plenty of power remaining. A simple push button on the battery shows how much power remains. If for some reason you run out of power, the included second battery should finish the job. The battery recharged quickly on the included charger. The compact size of the driver allowed me to get into tight spots, IE: between 2" x 4" house framing studs. It is nicely balanced and has a comfortable non slip grip. It has 4 speeds, at the push of a button, for everything from low speed driving to high speed drilling. The impact driver helps punch through those tough drilling materials. The headlight puts the light right where you need it, on target. You can hang the driver on your tool belt, with the attached belt hook. This is especially handy, when your climbing a ladder. The set comes in a rugged, lockable carrying case.

    Very high quality driver
This is a excellent driver that would work great for any DIYer or professional. First off, it has lots of small but nice features: - slightly more compact design - good, comfortable grip - auto light that shines on your work surface - indicator light for battery power - 2 batteries in the kit so you never have to wait for charging - belt clip and bit clip which are reversible - base (bottom of battery) is rubber so it won't scratch surfaces - piece on the back bottom for attaching a ... read more wrist strap - quick attachment of hex bits - button for adjusting max speed (4 settings) Whichever max speed setting you are using, the speed is very easily controlled with the trigger. Its very sensitive and gives you a lot of manual control. Its quipped with their One-Key system. This lets you fine tune some features of the driver via wireless connections to a computer or app on your smart phone. From the app you can create custom settings such as different max speeds. You can also adjust and create torque settings here. This was most useful for me because I want different torque settings for different jobs. This kit comes with the driver, 2 x M18 batteries, charger which charges both M18 and M12 batteries, and carrying case.

    Milwakee really understands smartphone integration!
First off the driver is great. Lots of torque and the Red Lithium battery technology is impressive. Batteries last a long time and I haven't had one fail. The brushless FUEL line provides a very reliable and strong motor that doesn't need maintenance. The reason you're looking at this though is the One Key feature. It allows you to pair One Key enabled tools with a smartphone to provide customization of the tool as well as inventory management. Milwaukee did a great job with the app. This ... read more capability is designed for shops or contractors that have a lot of tools and job sites or teams. The tool communicates with your smart phone via bluetooth. Setup is very simple and the bluetooth connection is very reliable. The app is well designed and easy to use. From within the app you can create different profiles. Each profile has 4 different presets. Within each preset you can control various features of the driver. First there's the Custom Driver Control. It allows you to set the maximum RPM, torque level, trigger ramp up duration, work light on duration as well as the work light brightness. Next you can choose "Self-Tapping Screw" setup. With this option you enter the gauge of steel you're driving into, the length of the screw, the screw diameter (#6, #8, #10, #12, #14) and the type of head (flat, hex, pan or wafer). It will set the starting speed, driving speed and finishing speed based on the values you input but you can also override the settings. You also have the light controls you do with custom. Next is "Screw-in Concrete Anchor". If you chose this option you can select the anchor size (3/16", 1/4", 5/16", 3/8", anchor length (1-1/4" to 6-1/2") and material (concrete, cinder block or brick). It will set the max speed and finishing torque level based on your input and again you can customize how the light functions. You can create a profile with 4 different options with presets for the 4 screw-in concrete anchors and load that up when you'll need it and then when you're working with sheet metal you can load up a different profile that has those settings. Or let's say you do basement refinishing with metal studs you can have a mix of different types within the same preset. You need a smartphone to change the profiles but there are 4 buttons on the tool to select the different presets without reaching for your phone. There's also a 5th button, the bluetooth icon, that you can use to customize the settings with your smart phone on the job site. It's a lot nicer than just having the 1/2 settings that were previously available. Allows you greater control. Right off the bat I was impressed with how well everything worked but there was a recent app and website upgrade that I was hoping they'd implement. Inventory management is pretty basic right now but it's being improved. You can enter the date, purchase price and location of tools. One great new feature is that it will keep track of the GPS coordinates of the last time the tool was accessed. I'm guessing they get that info from the phone so you'll need to have at least one person on the job site with a smartphone and One Key app. Helps you keep track of tools on different sites and can help you figure out where you might have left it. I am genuinely impressed with how well everything works.

    Awesome little Drill
I love this impact it's my first cordless impact and it works beautifully. I use it almost everyday and it doesn't use up to much battery....I have the 3.0amp batteries and I used one for a week with this drill and didn't have to charge it which is awesome...I didn't do a whole lot but took like ten things apart and put them back together and on the last day i built two boxes with a lot of drilling involved and probably lasted another good hour.

Full time use in manufacturing plant
We are upgrading from the previous generation at work, which performed so well and held up to constant use and abuse that I went out and bought a personal set. That said, those don't even hold a candle to these lil monsters and I am trying to get some sort of trade in rebate upgrade from our supplier for my personal set, because I love these things. I have driven plenty of 1/2" bolts (no torque necessary with a full hit) and then 5/8" - 1" before finishing them off with a 3/4" drive torque ... read more wrench and it is so much easier to carry while climbing around on a machine being assembled than the big heavy air impact with airlines that I have to keep swapping to reach various areas. Great battery life. Only drawback is that snapping the socket adapters is pretty common. Have yet to find ones that hold up. Top brand expensive ones don't perform any better than the midrange. Have snapped a few 3/8" grade 5 bolts with it.

A well designed product from Makita
This is the Makita LXT 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Oil-Impulse Brushless Cordless 3-Speed Impact Driver but it does not include the necessary 18v lithium ion battery nor the charger. Keep in mind the battery and charger will cost you a bit more if you are not already invested in the Makita battery powered tool eco-system. Out of the box the driver is very compact and easy to handle so getting into tight spaces shouldn't be too difficult. The unit is very quite when in use compared to other impact ... read more drivers I have used. This is probably due to it being oil driven instead of mechanical impact. Power is more than sufficient for nuts and bolts that you would use with a 1/4" ratchet. Makita seems to list a max torque spec of 15 ft/lbs but my seat of the pants test feels like it is higher. Also, the manual seems to prefer listing bolt sizes instead of torque specs. Without test equipment I can't test this so I just have to go by what the manual states. The manual is very well written and detailed overall aside from that. There is a single button located in front of the grip that allows you to turn the led light on and off as well adjust the speed of the driver. The light is handy when working in dark spaces and it will auto shut off after a few seconds of releasing the trigger. The ring collar is very sturdy and holds the bits well if you are using the correct ones. Most bits will have the correct neck cut into the shank so that they can be secured. Unfortunately, my bit set did not have the correct design so I had to buy new ones to work with this driver. My old set is still usable but they are not secured into the driver and pull right out. This is a well designed product and I wouldn't expect anything less from Makita, especially at this price point. It handles well, is quiet, and does the job. I honestly can't find anything to complain about with this product.

    Torquey!
This is a good quality & powerful compact impact driver. It is very compact, is lightweight, and has an ergonomic design that fits well in my hand. It offers decent torque at 1460 lb-in. It is very easy to use and has the basic settings to control rotation direction and a center position to lock the trigger. It can handle tough jobs and other normal work around the house. Loading bits and releasing them is relatively easy. It has an LED light that is nice & bright. Trigger operation is smooth ... read more and you can easily control the speed. It comes with a belt clip that can be installed on your preferred side. It comes with two 18V batteries so you always have a spare when you need one! The batteries are 2.0Ah lithium-ion and they last long. They also have a charge level indicator. The charger is huge but that's because it is a "smart" charger that includes a cooling fan and also optimizes the charging process to make sure it charges fast yet does not degrade battery life. The provided case is heavy duty and is made to last. Definitely recommend.

    Good quality
Good quality 18v 1/4 inch impact driver that comes with a charger and and extra battery. Along with being a variable speed driver, it packs plenty of torque when needed. It fits in your hand comfortably so you will not have any fatigue from long periods of use. Lightweight design and will also accept other sizes of batteries. Charging time is very quick and the batteries seem to last a long time.

Powerful. Excellent battery life. Feel well-balanced in the hand. A lot of tool for the money.
I want to preface this review of the Milwaukee M18 FUEL Hex Impact Wrench Kit by stating that I own several Milkwaukee corded and cordless power tools and find them to be extremely high-quality, powerful and reliable. This ¼-inch Impact Wrench is no exception. This kit includes a 1/4-in. cordless impact wrench, two 18v FUEL lithium battery packs, a multi-volt charger station, integrated stainless steel belt clip on one side of the tool and a magnetic bit holder on the opposite side of the tool, ... read more and a hard plastic lockable molded carrying case. Bits are not included, so you’ll need to pick up a bit kit if you don’t already have one. Other Milwaukee cordless tools I own utilize the same Li-Ion battery, so I’m able to use the included battery packs in other Milkwaukee cordless tools I already own. Battery life is excellent, allowing me to work for several hours on a single charge. I am working on a deck building project, and used this wrench to drive dozens lag bolts and 3-inch screws into anchors for railing, deck boards and trim boards. This wrench worked flawlessly and effortlessly to the bolts and drive screws. The battery is quickly recharged (in about 30 mins.) by removing it from the handle of the tool and sliding it into the charger station, included in the kit. Like all Milwaukee cordless tools, the Impact Wrench is thoughtfully manufactured with features such as a belt clip, comfortable, ergonomic non-slip rubber grip, a handy LED light that operates by the trigger to illuminate your workspace, a bit holder, and a LED power indicator integrated into the battery shows the amount of battery life remaining. The wrench is compact for reaching into tight spaces, but surprisingly powerful. At a little more than 3 lbs, it’s lightweight and feels well-balanced in the hand. This Milwaukee M18 Fuel ¼-inch Impact Wrench is a lot of tool for the money. It may not take the place of a drill/driver, but I highly recommend it as a worthwhile addition to your tool box.

    Outstanding impact
After getting my makita 18v run over by a lull on the Miami Baywatch set. I mulled over and over between the makita , cause i still have the drill batteries and charger, The dewalt which is a fine tool and many on set have these also I ended up going with the new Milwaukee and it is an Outstanding choice.

    Best bang for the buck
Not much to say. Milwaukee makes outstanding products and this is no exception. This is a lot of tool for the money and probably the average DIY person. But I believe in buying the best tool for the money. My other impact, a Milwaukee M12 has performed for years without issue. And the only reason for this purchase is that sadly it makes more fiscal sense to purchase a new tool vs. new batteries.

    Best Thing Ever
I love this tool with all my heart and soul. It's a serious workhorse, and as an impact driver it seems to drive any screw into anything easily and without stripping screw heads. Ever. The battery lasts a very long time. All the Ryobi hand tools are excellent, and if you have a whole set with extra batteries you feel like a mobile workshop!

    Excellent impact driver
I work as a handyman and am extremely busy. I use ryobi products because they have stayed with their promise to maintain usability of the one+ product line with new batteries. The impact driver has been operating without flaw. I have driven large and long hex head screws while building pergolas without issue. The three power settings are very useful. The previous review was negative based on the battery performance and not the tool. I highly recommend this impact driver
