    Powerful Specialty Tool
When you get in tight quarters there is nothing better than a spiral saw. I used this to cut holes in a couple 2x12's in an extremely tight place. The saw is very powerful and I was able to cut through them with ease using the multi-purpose bit. With a firmly anchored straight edge/guide, I can cut a decent line, but without it is a challenge as other reviewers have noted. I did not have a chance to test the dust collector as I was in too tight of a place.

One Very Handy Tool To Have!
I have seen a few people I know use these RotoSaws, as well as a couple people on well-known home improvement TV shows. It seemed like a great idea, especially when working drywall. Now having tried one, I can honestly say it is indeed a great tool, and it sure beats using old fashioned methods! This one comes with the Dust Vault device, which essentially is a dust collection device that attaches to the tool. The dust vault works, but seems like kind of an expensive way to collect dust. The ... read more filter is built-in, and not replaceable unless you replace the entire Dust Vault. For a homeowner, or a contractor who works with this tool often, the dust vault might not be the ideal thing for you. You can clean it out, but eventually, the paper filter will clog, and you'd have to buy another Dust Vault. It would be nice if they made the paper filter replaceable, so you don't have to buy the whole Dust Vault. For a remodeler, or someone like an electrician, HVAC or plumber who works in a customer's home, or a location where you can't use a vacuum, and you need to work clean, then the Dust Vault device would be a great choice. However, for most people, I think, you'd be better served with a vacuum cleaner to draw away dust as you work, and the RotoZip people do indeed have a vacuum attachment for these tools. The tool itself is powerful for its size, and is fabulous for cutting a quick hole in drywall or plywood for electrical boxes or plumbing. I didn't realize it until I got it, but these tools are made by the same folks who bring you the well-known and loved Dremel tools. That in itself, is a huge plus in my book. I love Dremel products, and own several and use them often. Also, if you look up the attachments they make for this tool, I think you'll discover all sorts of other uses for it as well. All in all, this is a great tool to have, and whether you are remodeling, building new construction, or even some hobby work, this tool will save you time and frustration. Thanks RotoSaw, and Home Depot!

Does the dust vault really work??
Absolutely, YES!! I'll admit I was skeptical of this when I got the tool, but I was truly shocked to see the difference in how much dust was generated without the dust vault attachment. I tested both wood (pine) and drywall. With wood, the dust vault collected nearly 100% of all the sawdust created. Without the dust vault, sawdust went everywhere! When I used it to cut drywall, the only dust that escaped was just the very finest particles. It was so minor that I barely noticed it. Without the ... read more dust vault... whoa. The dust vault is a small centrifugal fan in a shroud that is powered by the tool itself. The fan and shroud have their own collet sleeve that replace the regular one. The filter then snaps to the shroud and is pretty much out of the way of your hands. If you plan to use this indoors, I highly recommend you get the dust vault version to save yourself from piles of annoying construction dust.

    Awesome tool, love it
I bought one for my uncle several years ago and never bought one for myself. A couple months ago he gifted me with a brand new Dremel. Ive already used it a lot and will continue. These are awesome tools!!!!

    new start button
I had several dremels in the past, and bought this one to replace an ageing 3000. I do like a separate Stop/Stop button, and do not like the fact that the tool is not almost two inches longer - make it more difficult to get to tight spots. The rest of functionality is up to Dremel standards. The case layout is also not as convenient as before - I'm using my old one.

    Powerful and Compact
When changing the thermostat on my '97 Jeep Grand Cherokee, I broke off one of the bolt heads. After failing to remove the frozen bolt with other drilling solutions, I took the advice of an auto parts dealer and purchased a Dremel and a hard rotary file bit. The slim profile and variable power of the Dremel allowed me to access the bolt and drill the hole needed to successfully remove the bolt. I'm looking forward to using this tool for many other diverse projects. I purchased the corded model ... read more to make sure I wouldn't run into any issues with fading battery power. I'm really happy with this product.

    Excellent replacement tool
Although this was a replacement, it performs great. Battery life is the big thing I look for and this cordless tool lasts a good long time which allowed me to finish without waiting for recharge.

    Overall great value
Great little tool for the small finishing jobs around the house. Very versatile. I first used it to sand wood on tight joints.

    Excellent tool
The tool has power and versatility. The immediate stop of the rotary bits makes working with the tool safer, and the continuous speed adjustments give you tonnes of control. Downsides are that the battery doesn't last very long, and it takes a while to charge up, and that the air vents pump out quite warm air onto your hands (I always fear I'm going to block one and make the thing explode).

    Good product for the money
Nice variable speed, thick cord. Wish it came with a case.

    Pretty good
The tool itself is great for the money however the accessories are a little weak. The sanding disk with included shaft vibrated so badly I think I lost a little weight. The sanding disk was either out of true or the shaft. I think I'll be spending a couple of bucks on the Dremel accessories.. All in all not bad bang for the buck even if I do buy the accessories.

Right tool for the job !
Cut right through a seized bearing race that had to be cut from the inside. The opening was 2 1/2" no tool in the shop could do the job. This little guy did it without breaking a sweat.

    1st one stolen
This is the second one purchased. Someone else must have needed it more than I did. They only took the tool and battery, so now I have 2 chargers I hope that they have to buy a battery and charger. I went ahead and bought this again because of the lifetime warranty on the battery. The Multi-Tool works great. I had to cut 1" x 11 1/2" out of a 2 x 4 to make a smart key lock work on a gate that was 5" thick. Everyone on the job, and the owner, was thrilled with the finish product.

    Great tool - Great LSA!
I purchase this tool about 3 years ago. I am a handyman & I use this tool all of the time. I did register the tool for the LSA program. The first time I put the battery in the retaining clip broke, I assumed that would be considered abuse so I just used painters tape to hold it in place. The fwd & rev switch was also very stiff, but it worked. In mid December 2014 it stated to intermittently not work, I had to jiggle the head. I brought it to my local Home Depot rental center for repair on ... read more 12/22. They took care of all of the above including the battery! I got it back on 1/7/15 (some parts were back ordered). I registered the new battery on the SLA program by phone, it took 5 minutes. In the last 3 years I have switched out all of my Dewalt tools (good stuff) & moved over to Ridgid tools. The SLA is easy to registed & use, though it takes a little time. You must keep all of you SLA paperwork to use the system!!

    Runs true
This unit has great balance and just a small amout of inherent torque/roll even running at 32,000 rpm. One thing not mentioned on other reviews is the impressive lack of run out. The straightness of the collet (with the supplied 1.5" cut-off wheel and the supplied mandrel is right on. I also like the protected shaft/collet lock button, good thinking, this tool will get dirty. One thing, I wish Milwakee would have supplied at least one additional collet, (smaller then the 1/8") for use on very presice work.

    Electricians new best friend
I have used the full size rotozip tools for many years. For 2 weeks now I've used this tool to cut in outlet boxes in an old home with wood lathe and horsehair plaster. This tool is so compact and precise, of the 25 boxes I've cut in, I haven't needed oversize plates or had to patch yet. The run time is fantastic as well. I now own nearly the full line of M12 tools. Great job Milwaukee!!!
