    great tool
the Bosch DM-ROS is a great tool if you want to remove a massive amount of stock. When sanding with 80 grit, in turbo mode, you really have to have a firm hold on it. I will compare it to a belt sander, because it really gives you a work out. This is not a one handed tool. I also have worked with a Festool DM-ROS, they are comparable but there price isn't. The Bosch is about $200 cheaper. I didn't find that there was much difference in the stock removal rate. I Have had this tool for about a ... read more year now and I have abused it, slightly. It probably has about 400 hours on it now and it still runs great. I have had to replace the pad but, I have never got more than a year out of any pad. The cord length is great, and the dual mode saves a lot of time. I also have the ridged DM sander and it doesn't like anything less than 80 grit paper it just doesn't have the power that the Bosch or Festool have. I replaced the ridged sander with the Bosch.

    Great sander. Lots of power!
This sander makes the others look like toys! I'm using this for fiberglass sanding and fairing. It cuts it down fast with little to no dust. Love it.

Works very well on unpainted wood. However, where needed to use on set of stairs which had been painted but most paint removed with stripper, did not do the job as I anticipated with the coarse grit. Would recommend if using on milled wood. Easily took out imperfections in fresh lumber or slabs. When attached to a shop vac, using jerry rigged connections and hose clamps, dust was nearly non existent. Note my experience here is on one test slab of wood in which very satisfied but when moved to ... read more the stairs, problem above noted.

    Good paint eater!
This thing will eat through paint, however there are only two settings. Off and FULL BLAST, if I have a more precise project that needs exact scraping this would be difficult to use. If you have a surface that needs to go all out this is your product.

    Effortless
This is a revolutionary paint remover. I couldn't believe how quickly and effortlessly it removed paint, without damaging the underlying wood. The synthetic pads get in to every nook and cranny, something that sand paper cannot easily do. Take a look at the pictures I uploaded. In the second picture, the paint on the door frame was peeling from the sun, the PaintEater quickly removed all the loose paint, and didn't scratch the wood below. The first picture shows how well the PaintEater did at ... read more removing flaking paint from siding, again without damaging the texture. Remember, the PaintEater removes paint, it is not designed for sanding surfaces smooth, when used properly the pads will last a long time. It does a fantastic job of removing paint, the pictures speak for themselves...

    It really eats paint!
Sanding and repainting a 100 year old house that had not been painted in 30+ years. Three days into the project the paint eater arrived - and it has been amazing. It viciously bites through peeling and chipping paint without destroying the sanding disc. It is a very thick grit sanding disc - definitely not for fine work, but for big nasty pieces, it is perfect!

    Kitchen Cabinet Refinishing
Smooth running sander with great attachments. The finger attachments are extremely useful however replacement sanding pads are not available locally in my area. Need some ........... they can be ordered through Amazon! Why the finger sanding pads are offered in 80 grit only is beyond me. The vacuum port is a bit MIcky Mouse. There's no locking mechanism to secure the hose to the tool so don't be surprised when the hose connector pops off and falls to the floor. Might try wrapping electrician ... read more tape around the joint during lond sanding periods. All that said, I still like the tool.

Effective sanding / mostly easy to handle
I bought this to help with all the detail sanding on windows, doors, and trim prior to staining. It worked very well getting into corners and along thin ridges. The true orbital motion was excellent, vastly better than the cheaper detail sander I had purchased previously. My biggest gripe is the dust collection handicap. I tried using it with a small shopvac to minimize dust in the rest of the house. The connections would not stay in place without duct tape, but even when this was solved, I ... read more found that the vacuum hose simply made the tool impossible to use in most situations. The extra pull made it difficult to maintain the appropriate sanding angle and the extra tool length caused by the connector and hose significantly reduced the areas I could access. I ended up removing this attachment and simply dealing with the dust. One note, the sanding pads aren't cheap so the price of a large project could mount quickly. I now cut my own out of hook-and-loop backed bulk sandpaper.

    Great tool for corner sanding!
This sander is perfect for sanding inside corners. It is a little bulky but very versatile. The ability to turn the sanding pad allows me to take advantage of more of the sand paper. I also use it as an edge sander and I can sand right up to the inside edge of the project. I am very satisfied with this Bosch sander!

BLACK+DECKER 5 in. Random Orbit Sander Disc
Being disabled and only use of one hand this sander works perfectly. Not to powerful where my hand gets tired but enough to do the job.

    Nice quality Sander.
I have been using The 3-AMP 5 IN. RANDOM ORBIT SANDER WITH VARIABLE SPEED (TOOL-CASE) extensively since it arrived and I have enjoyed using it as it works very well. Easy on the comfort and it fits my large hands nicely. I would certainly buy again. It is costly and I will give the "value" a higher rating if it lasts me for several years, which is why I paid a higher premium price.

Had an older Makita model that lasted for years. They last almost forever and work so well.
Makita makes a great sander. The front hand grip is a must for any type of finish sanding as one can control the sander very easily. Would never use any other brand as this Makita gets an A++ rating.

    Orbit Sander
This sander was easy to assemble. It is light weight but powerful as a sander. I used with course grain sand paper it to removed old paint from the boards on a patio deck. The bag to catch the dust from sanding is adequate but I wish it was larger.

I wish I would have bought this sander the first time
I originally bought another orbit sander (R _ _ _ I)brand and my adult daughter used it to finish her makeup rack and it rattled itself apart just as all the product reviews stated. The Black & Decker sander is just GREAT and I am sanding old wood garage doors with about 60 years of paint and it is working perfectly. I love the way the sanding disk attaches to the sander with a screw on hook and loop pad which attaches to the standard hook and loop sanding discs. The old sander had an adapter ... read more pad that kept falling off and had to be constantly replaced at $5.00 each time. I highly recommend this sander. I only hope it lasts but will tell in due time!!

    Effective and easy to use
I needed this to sand joint compound. I purchased because of the dust bag. While some dust still escaped, it was probably half of what I would of had without the dustbag. Very easy to use and comfortable in the hand. Probably collects more dust if using to sand wood.

    Works Too Good!
This is a great workhorse of a little sander! It sanded off the stain finish from an old table top with ease. I didn't have to put any stripper on it. It worked soooo good that my husband came to help and got carried away with it. He sanded the veneer pine wood off completely in one spot! Not happy with that, but it's good to know how well this sander works! I do love it!

    Great sander
I did my research online and decided on this Bosch. Very happy with it, collects the dust nicely and gives excellent results. Highly recommend this sander.

    Great sander
Love this sander. Great in small spaces. It does an excellent job and doesn't leave any lines in the wood.

    Bosch RO Sander
The sander works well, is much quieter than the Porter Cable RO sander it replaced. The dust collector is a bit tricky to remove and the cover is awkward to take off but it does collect the majority of the sanding dust very well. Seems to do a great job in sanding of an Oak board with little or no sanding marks that I could see, feels good in the hand, even seems lighter than the old P/C I had. Just buy it already!

Wow - it even comes in a storage case
When I buy a tool I read consumer reviews, Popular Science, Popular Mechanics benchmarking results, and ask my carpenter friends. The Milwaukee 6021-21 5 in. Random Orbital Sander really does the job. Unbelievable to me, is that the sawdust catcher actually works. This is a simple kind of tool that Milwaukee has built to perfection. I'm just a DIY person but I still love a great tool at a great price. I can't speak for how long it will last but it feels very sturdy.

    Monster sander power
This is actually the second time I've purchased this sander model. I bought it because I have a woodworking buddy and we both needed/wanted one. This sander is powerful and best of all the dust collector works. I even sand inside my shop now without getting sawdust every where. It's quiet and smooth running. Love it and do not hesitate to brag about it.

A nice professional palm sander - not a hobbyist toy
I had the throw away sander from Ryobi which lasted until I started using it on a regular basis. It failed. I purchased the Milwaukee due to good reviews. It has lived up to my expectations. It does not bog down when I bear down. It allows me to change speed when I want to reduce the rate that I remove material. The dust collection works great with my system. I have used this product for about 10 hours total sanding time and definitely see it as a big step up from the Ryobi. Home Depot had by ... read more far the best price I found.
