    Durable and well built
Good saw for short rips. Thick long rips quickly drain battery. Well built balanced saw which performs well but for constant cutting a corded saw may be a better choice. saw poerful enough but after about 40 or 50 linear ft of 5/8 ply rip new battery needs to be recharged.

    18 Volt Cordless Saw
The saw works great but even with a new battery, you can't go very far before having to recharge. It would be great for small projects where you don't need to make more than 8 - 10 cuts. I used it to cut 1 x fence pickets and after about 15 cuts, I had to recharge - frustrating

This product has power like a wired saw
Highly recommend for DIY people. Handy, no wires to deal with, plenty of cutting power, uses all the old DeWalt 18V batteries you use for your other tools

    Perfect for the job
Bought this for trimming 1x material and getting into tighter spaces. This is much lighter than a typical circular saw, easy to use one-handed, plenty of power, easy to control. I can make straighter cuts with this than my circular saw, just because it's easier to control and easier to see where you are cutting. I now grab it first, only using my circular saw for material thicker than 2x. The only negative I have found is that it's awkward to turn the saw on one-handed, due to having to push the ... read more safety interlock and trigger with the same hand in an awkward way. I typically turn it on using both hands, then start cutting.

I like the compact size without giving up power.
I just received mine today and went right down the shop with it to see how well it cut 2/6s. Cut through with no problems. Over all it looks to be a great addition to my shop tools. Now how long it lasts? I don't know yet. Only one thing I don't like about the saw is the lock off button. I have small hands and it's hard to push the lock button and still be able to squeeze the on switch without almost using both hands.

I am happy with its performance
** WHATS INCLUDED ** What’s included in the box is 7 ½” SideWinder saw, a 7 ¼” Diablo blade for fiber cement with 4 teeth, 8 feet long hose with 6.5 feet long nylon sleeve ,1.5”, 2.5” and adaptor. The powered cord is 10 feet long seems to be 14 AWG. **GENERAL OBSERVATIONS ** Compared to making cuts with scoring, jigsaw or shear blade, this saw stands out because of vacuum attachment that works really well in collecting silica dust while giving a nice clean cut with minimal material ... read more waste. It is light weight, well built, well balanced, feels good in hands and very easy to operate. The extension cord 14 gauge for 25 feet, 12 gauge for 50 feet and 100 feet is not recommended at all. Since it is Sidewinder, the motor is on the left, parallel to the blade and the blade is on the right so the sight line to the blade is not as clear as I get in worm-drive. However, the auxiliary handle and the lock button are enough out of the way that I can easily sneak-peek the cut line from the 2.5” opening next to the blade. Also, my both hands are kept at a safe distance from the cut line since I am right handed. For left handers, there is no issue with sight line. ** PERFORMANCE ** Cross, rip, miter or plunge, this saw does it all and does it well. I’ve cut plenty of 3X5 quarter inch HardieBacker for a bath remodel and I am happy with its performance on dust collection and clean cuts. The dust collection depends a lot on how good your shop vacuum is. A rinky-dink vacuum with dirty filter might not do compared to a powerful vacuum with clean filter. My 12 gal shop vac teams up really well with this saw. ** BLADE ** The Diablo blade (included) performs great on Fiber Cement without compromising the longevity. Though you can use the blade to cut cement board (something like Wonderboard) too but it will take a good toll out of it so I would not recommend using on cement board or concrete. ** WHATS BAD ** Skil included 2 adaptors for vacuum and both were poorly sized for saw hose. I had to use a stainless steel clamp to secure it. The foot has the fence slot but the fastener is not included. So if you have a rip fence that does not have its own fastener, you might be going back to the store to get one. Another 50 cents worth of fastener can save many a round trip to hardware store. **** Overall, it’s a solid saw and performs well. I recommend it with confidence.

Skilsaw Just Keeps Getting Better And Better!
I have an older model Skilsaw circular saw. It is a good saw, but it seems much cheaper made than this one, and doesn't have the blade lock that this one has. It also doesn't have that very cool vacuum hose attachment that this one has! Skilsaw markets this saw as being for fiber cement board, because it has the dust-collection vacuum attachment, and comes with a Diablo Hardie Board blade. If you've ever cut cement board for a bathroom remodel before, with a regular circular saw, you know what a ... read more pain in the neck mess that is! Clouds of cement dust fills the air, and you better be wearing a respirator if you value your lungs! This Diablo blade does a much better job of cutting the cement board than a regular saw blade, and that dust collection vacuum attachment is a life-saver for cutting down the dust. Now, Skilsaw says not to use this saw with cutting other materials such as wood, but if you change out the blade with a standard 7 1/4 wood blade, it works just perfect for that as well. Skilsaw has made a lot of other improvements with this saw too. For instance, the base plate is a very heavy Magnesium one, versus the stamped steel one on my old saw. It looks and feels much more substantial. The blade wrench on my old saw was fairly light weight and simple. The blade wrench on this new saw is much thicker, has two holes for undoing the bolt, and even has a screwdriver edge cut into the back end. I was very impressed with that. The adjustments for this saw are pretty much the same as before. The put the vacuum attachment at the back of the blade guard, in just the right place. They include a vacuum hose, with a nylon type fabric hose guard, so you don't rip the hose on something you are working on. They also include two vacuum adapters, so that you can attach it to your shop vac. The only complaint I have whatsoever with this saw, is that the hose they provide doesn't really fit snugly on the vacuum adapter they provide. As a result, it slips off the adapter easily, and leaks air. That can easily be addressed by taking a medium sized radiator hose clamp, and snugging down the hose to the adapter for a tighter fit. Since it is so easy to fix, I'm not knocking off any stars for that, but Skilsaw might want to look into making their adapter castings just slightly bigger in diameter in that area. The portion on the saw itself is a nice snug fit for the vacuum hose. All in all, I really love this saw, and think it is a great improvement over Skilsaw's older models, and certainly better than many of their competitor's products! Thanks Skilsaw, and Home Depot!

Great For Contractors Working With Fiber Cement Board or Siding
If you have ever cut fiber cement board with a circular saw you know how big a mess it makes with the silica dust. I do a lot of work with fiber board so decided to obtain the new SkilSaw 7 ¼ in. Sidewinder Circular Saw for Fiber Cement. After using the SkilSaw Fiber Cement Circular Saw for several tasks, I’m quite impressed with both its features and performance. The SkilSaw Fiber Cement Circular Saw comes equipped with a Diablo Polycrystalline Diamond Tipped (4 Tooth) Blade, 8 foot hose ... read more with sleeve, and adapters for connecting to 1 ½ or 2 ½ inch vacuum hoses. It also comes with a 15 amp motor and magnesium components, which provides light weight and durability. It cuts through wonder board like butter and very little dust when connected to a shop vacuum. Best of all the SkilSaw Fiber Cement Circular Saw is multi-purpose, and can be used for cutting wood and other materials with the proper blades. Recommended for anyone working with fiber cement board or siding.

    You will not be disappointed.
I have owned this saw for a year now and teamed up with M18 5.0 xc my three corded circular saws are seeing more bench time. This saw has the same features of depth and angle adjustments as my other saws. I bought this saw because it is convenient to cut wood before loading if your project allows. But more and more i have been using it as my go too saw at home.

Great saw, backbone of the m18 line.
Very happy with this saw. I had the older ni-cd version and this is a big improvement in battery life, balance, and how it feels in the hand. For clarification, it takes both the compact and XC batteries, I had heard from a review on YouTube that it won't accept the compacts. Not true.

I FEEL LIKE I HAVE A CORDED SAW its a night and day difference it can rip treated wood no problem and battery last 5 times longer then with the old 28v and old 18v sets thank you milwaukee for finally making a worth while cordless saw !!!!!

Beats my old "Craftsman" tools hands down !!
I'm building a massive deck and making at least two cuts per board. Having a lightweight circular saw makes the world of difference.

    Excellent 12V Milwaukee Saw.
Milwaukee has really done an excellent job on all of their M12 Fuel lineup of tools. The M12 Circular Saw, like all of the M12 tools, is light, well designed to fit your hands, and shockingly powerful for a 12V tool. Battery life was as advertised, enough power for the cuts I needed. The full kit, (battery, charger, and nice bag) was by far the best deal but was disappointed HomeDepot didn't carry this version of the product in store. HomeDepot however shipped the kit to my door in 2 days. One ... read more thing to note, I had to order all of the 5-3/8 IN blades from other online sources. Currently at my 2 or 3 local HomeDepots they didn't carry a single blade in the 5-3/8 size. They did have several at 5-1/2 which the manual says will work but I've not tried that size yet.

    Product seems very well made
Seems like a nice saw, as it should be for the cost. Had problem with the battery charging that came with saw. Called Dewalt, and they sent a new one to me, with UPS return shipping for bad one. Cannot complain

One of my better decisions on tool purchases. The saw is light and ideal for notching, cutouts and plunge cutting when working with panels. I am very pleased with the tool's performance.
