The best in class rated by contractors
As a contractor I read contractor mags and tool tests and every tool test article I ever read on circ saws, this one comes out on top and it does with me as well. Let me also recommend the Diablo blade by Freud. It is the fastest blade by far over all the competitors and will make your tool feel even more powerful, don't question this, just buy it and see for yourself

    good solid saw
I had narrowed my search for a new saw to one that at least has a 15 amp motor. Three that had gotten my interest where the: Porter Cable PC15TCSMK Makita 5007F Milwaukee6390-21 The PC (porter cable) and Makita could be gotten for under a hundred dollars if you hit it at the right time and place. Out of the three the PC has the better case and comes with a rip fence. The shoe might be better as well. The Makita… Well it is a Makita. The Milwaukee has a larger than necessary case and does not ... read more come with a rip fence. I think any of these three are good saws and will perform well. I went for the Milwaukee for it has the tilt handle, and for the particular cutting that I do, that option may help a bit. I am currently using the saw for a project and I am liking my choice so far.

    This is the one
I will not go into everything everyone else has. Here is the big deal: Power, adjustable handle, and the real big deal, the forward handle is attached to the base plate, not the motor. To me, this is the bigger deal, your forward hand is way off to the side on big cuts, and you can see everything. One other: I was going to get the Makita because of the forward blower that would push saw dust out of the line of sight. Also, I have other Makita tools. The Milwaukee does not have a blower up front ... read more because it does not need it! 100% of the saw dust travels through the rear discharge. I love this tool. Ripped 3/4 inch OSB as straight as and arrow.

    Good basic circular saw
This reconditioned circular saw was as described. Came with a very basic blade which would cut old bread but I would expect a short life expectancy at that! The rest was fine, of particular note I liked the bright red light by the switch, which indicated that the tool was "live" and thus accidental amputations of fingers could be avoided. It would have been better if a zippered bag had been provided for storing this saw. I also like the enclosed wrench which is tucked away conveniently, thus ... read more should not get lost. Fancy additions such as a "worm drive" and a laser are unnecessary for a basic circular saw. Some reviers complained about "plastic handles and components". I am pretty sure that my components will meet the demands of light to moderate duty.

Item actually has the benefit of cutting things
This one worked the first time with no hassle. Had all necessary parts (you need your own Allen wrenches, but if you're playing with saws, you should already have a small set of those someplace). I like saws. It is fun to cut boards.

It's an all around great tool.
This radial saw has been key to the completion of my home projects.

    Serious saw
Very easy to handle and use. I thought it would be really heavy but isn't bad at all. Only get this if you are serious about timber framing or handling big beams. It's super quiet comparatively. The rip guide works safely from 1/2" to about 3". Beyond that you'll have to do something else. Has a hole for dust collection too. Cut 6" dry cedar beam 12' long with almost no resistance and a perfect cut surface even with the stock 32T blade.

    Good saw,
Love the saw. Very quite but dont let that fool you. You aren't going to be one handing this saw. It has been chewing through oak and maple 6x8.

This saw is a must for a serious deck builder.
I am a contractor that has been building decks for many years. I am a premier deck builder. I have had many saws over the years and for cutting 6x6's and 8x8's it makes life easy. When you need to cut a notch in your post for the girders, it will cut the entire way without much hand work. just make a pass on each side and on bottom, tap with a hammer and done. The saw has power and will cut anything. It is however not for the weakhearted because it is heavy. I would recommend it to anyone who ... read more plans to use it for serious work.

    Nice saw
This is a very heavy saw. Not for weak people to handle. Well built. Came with oil in it. Never bogged down in the oak I was cutting. I used a high-toothed carbide blade in it, and it made an excellent and splinter free cut in plywood for a project. So far an excellent saw. Home depot often has not allowed my reviews to post for silly stupid reasons. But here goes another effort on my part to help others. Hope I'm not blocked. Note: to use a 7 1/4" blade, you must knock out the rectangle (star) ... read more in the middle. This will make your saws only useful for these types of tools that require the knockout knocked out. Just a warning. Can't use it really on another saw unless you have the adapter for it. Cheap at Harbor though.

    Good Saw
This saw got some good reviews online, and I liked the available rip fence, so we decided to try it out. Overall I've been impressed- it is balanced pretty well (but it is a little on the heavy side), and it seems to be powered well also. The deck seems to be virtually indestructible, and the extra large rafter hook is nice too- fits over a 2 1/2" TJI with ease. My only issue is that the depth adjustment lock lever seems to be extremely difficult to lock/unlock... but that's pretty minor in my ... read more opinion. We'll be buying a few more of these as the other saws wear out, if for no other reason than the rip fence option.

    Excellent Saw
Dewalt has done an amazing job with this saw. The 15 amp motor delivers plenty of power and doesn't really "kick start." It is also pretty quiet. It comes with a blade and a wrench and is pre-oiled. Right out of the box it, looks great and has excellent quality, but more importantly, it cuts through wood like butter. The depth and bevel adjustments are easy to read and adjust. I've used other saws like Skil and Milwaukee, and it was definitely lighter and more efficient than all of them. It is a ... read more excellent saw definitely would recommend it. The only downside with this saw is that you have to special order a rip guide that is around $50.

    Power and precision cuts.
We needed a power saw to build the ultimate skinning rack, but it had to be powerful enough to cut pressure treated lumber and precise for cutting plywood at angles; all at a reasonable price! This saw was just what the doctor ordered; price, power and precision. The rack turned out better than we hoped, it even has shelves to hold knives and beverages. This saw is now part of my Home Depot shop at the ranch. It will be used for many projects going forward.

    Reasonable for the price
My Ryobi battery powered saw was not up to the task, so I took a chance on this saw. For $40 I expected very little. It turns out the plate that rests on the wood flexes a little. Thus the saw can tilt a little depending on how you lean on the saw. The notches in the front showing where the saw will cut are off by about 1/8 inch. I squared up the blade and I cut to the edge of the alignment notch (not the center) and it works fine. The blade that comes with it is junk, so just assume another $10 ... read more to $15 for a good blade. (Home Depot occasionally has them on sale for buy one get one free) A $15 blade is 1/2 the cost of the saw but worth it. Other than that, It runs fine. Well worth the money.

Circular Saw For Small Home Projects
I purchased the Circular Saw for the purpose of using it on small home projects. The saw provides an accurate dependable cut and is excellent for what I need and wanted. Staff at the store were very helpful in answering my questions as well as providing a cost effective piece of equipment based on what I needed.

    So far, so good!
I haven't used the saw a lot since my purchase, but I have made some cuts with it. Plenty of HP - still getting used to left blade design - but think I will be pleased. The only drawback is the lack of a case. As other reviews that I have read indicate, you would think that a saw of this quality and cost would deserve a molded case. The saw I replaced had a case, and this saw fits ok (just just have to turn it around).

    greatest features available
Saw was purchased as gift for my son who related his satisfaction with one owned by a friend. When questioned regarding his satisfaction with his gift, he couldn't praise the features enough -- especially the ability to see the line to be cut because of the locatiin of the blade for right-handed woodworkers! The price of this saw is notably higher than other brands, but well worth the price difference.

    Great saw period!
I fully recommend this saw. It has great vision lines with the left sided blade. There are good built in safety features. The materials used are high quality and the general design and craftsmanship appear to be great. My only negative comment is that I bought this saw on sale and it was still more expensive than a lot of other saws available. I guess you get what you pay for though.

    Great Value for the Money
Love the laser cutting light. Well balanced and feels great in your hands.

    Reconditioned saw like new
Laser helps getting long cuts started straight. That's a BIG help. The saw worked perfectly. The unit I bought was reconditioned but it looked new. I didn't need a pro model to do home maintenance and hobby projects, so I went with a light model that was easy to handle. It worked like a charm, buzzing through 2x4's with ease. Excellent value! I'm happy with it.

    unexpensible, good for the price
works fine, but it has some plastic parts that would break soon. for the price is OK if you need it for light jobs.

    Best saw for the money
This truely is a professional grade saw...tons of power, easy to handle and very well made. probably the last saw i'll ever buy. I'm rough on my tools and this one still performs like new after 3 years! the Makita blade that comes on it is also very good!
