    Great saw for small jobs
I purchased this saw just a couple days ago for a project in the back yard. Was building a small box to house some outdoor stuff. The saw does an amazing job! Came out of the box practically ready to go. Includes batteries for the lazer. Cuts were made very easy and simple and was able to complete my frame for my storage unit in just 2 days! Awesome little saw for the price.

    Getting my money's worth
Saw was pretty much ready to go out of the box. It's pretty easy to use considering I've never owned a miter saw...definitely beats the miter box. Very accurate cuts as is the laser guide. I had been leery because of the inexpensive price, but wish I had bought sooner.

    great tool
Accurate out of box, no major adjustments necessary. The dual slide, laser and previous experience with Makita quality are what sold me. I am very happy with this after 6+ months of use. The dual slide glides effortlessly and the quality of cut is perfect. Soft start elimnates any jump what so ever. Great ergonomics and control throughout the cut. The miter adjustment is solid, quick and easy to use and holds dead on between increments when released (tightened). All in all a great feel and ... read more quality tool, I purchased the job site stand with it, couldn't imagine moving around shop without it mounted to stand heavy and bulky to move without the stand.

    Nice Saw
I would definitely order again however in the future I will have heavy orders like this shipped to store rather than my home. Package arrived damaged while I was at work. The saw had obviously been dropped many times by the UPS impact testing department. The box was falling apart and the saw was falling out with the slides unlocked. Other than some minor cosmetic damage and slight adjustment it was however good to go. The adjustment was easy and the laser was dead on. This is apparently a very ... read more robust saw and if the testing it received in shipment is any indicator should last forever since it will never see that kind of abuse again.

I first purchased a DeWalt saw and upon first checking for square I realized that the fence is out of line with its self. Meaning that a square put on the back will rock. No way to adjust! So I purchased the Makita and it is perfect. Very well made and completely adjustable in every way contrary to the DeWalt. Makita = Professional / DeWalt = low end homeowner use!

    great saw
I bought this for small projects around the house, cuts up to 6 inch wide boards with ease, love the laser guide makes every cut easy and precise, I'm just an amateur carpenter but this saw works well and is easy for anyone to use, would recommend it to anyone

    no adjustment on laser
be aware that this saw has a laser you "CANT ADJUST" the laser is set to the middle of the saw blade, therefore if you cut with laser on line piece will be 1/16 short! aggravating for precise work!

ready o go right out of he box
with a name like skil-saw how can you miss. I have been using the saw just about every day now for over a couple weeks and it has been living up o its name. I thought the price was very reasonable and it was delivered to my home in a short time after making the order. I really like the laser beam that helps line up the work to be sawed.

I don't even know where to start....
I came up with that title because it's the truth. This saw is replacing an older compound miter saw that has served me well but I wanted the sliding feature for cutting larger pieces of lumber. There are so many features on this saw it would require me writing a dissertation to cover them all so I will try and summarize with this: just about anything you can think of for convenience and precision is on this saw. It is belt driven which seems to be the norm for higher end saws, the miter ... read more adjustments are smooth and accurate right out of the box. I bit the bullet and purchased the TB4 stand to go with it, the only word I can describe to describe the combination is WOW. This saw weighs close to 90 lbs so I knew moving it around was not going to be an easy thing, the stand solved that and then some. I am going to post a review on the stand soon, that would take another 3 pages of typing. In the instruction booklet there is what can only be described as a chapter just on how to cut crown molding with the various adjustments that can be made on this saw. Crown molding can be intimidating; but I think, just by following the directions, an 8 year old could produce satisfying results. This is another example of the quality and engineering that Bosch puts into their tools. It is a bit pricy but I promise you it will not disappoint.

    Great Saw
The Bosch 15 amp dual-bevel slide miter saw is a very good quality saw with many features and access to some great accessories. The motor is plenty powerful and should be able to stand up to the rigors of everyday use. I did buy the Gravity rise stand for when the saw is not in use. A feature that I really like is the integrated base extensions. They will extend to 40 inches allowing support for material of longer lengths. I own a lot of Bosch tools and all have been very reliable.

I think they left out a knob
    - Adjustments for every conceivable use save upside-down - 1/2" manual - Every moving part feels terribly precise I haven't run this through its paces yet, I've spent far more time with the manual than with the saw itself. There are 43 parts mentioned in the manual, and most of them are knobs or buttons. I had no problem putting this through 1" ebony at 45/45, but the draw is the myriad of cutting options available. Every moving part moves fluidly, every seam looks and feels pretty ... read more tight, I think you'd need a sledgehammer to gum it up. Mine delivered with some ~1mm pitting on the deck, or "table;" I'm hoping and assuming this was a second provided for this review. Otherwise, this thing looks like, and is probably half as complicated as, a Ferrari engine. The miter detent system, scale pointer, kerf insert and bevel stops can be calibrated, though out of the box I cut a perfect (fitting) compound joint. The sliding fences can be easily removed. Any conceivable adjustment you could want, you can make and generally lock down. A vacuum is noticeably better than the included dust bag, but between this and a monster skilsaw I now have use for my 2gal compressor, which I'd recommend. Brushes are user-replaceable but the belt is a service change.

    Outstanding saw
Once the saw was set up, every cut was perfect. Adjustments are easy to make and the saw is as accurate as I could ever want. This saw will cut a 2X12 with ease and it can be locked so you can use it as a stationary miter saw. I would buy another one of these in a second. I planned to buy a 12" but all my blades are 10". This saw was the perfect choice. The laser line was an after thought but once it was adjusted to the right side cut (kerf to the left) it is extremely handy. All in all a great ... read more saw at a good price!!

    Nice saw
This saw is excellent! I do no when I have purchased the best and this saw is it. I am a professional and use this saw several times a day and it performs flawlessly. For thirteen years I owned A huge 12" slide saw yes it was a nice saw too,and when I fell on hard times I hawked it. When I decided it was time to replace it I thought a 10" would be nice. It was not too heavy or big and this saw was the perfect replacement. This Saw did not need adjustment right out of the box and I did spend an hour checking.

The best for our film company
We have a motion picture and sound company and there are no stores near where our sound stage and sets are. We ordered this saw for building sets and, with the stand, can move quickly through set lot . The crew loves this saw and says the fact that it is light with stand, able to maneuver it inside sets and outside through rough ground makes this a great product. No problems at all and Home Depot stands by their product and more important, by their loyal customers. My congrats to one of the best ... read more companies around. People count with them and that alone should get you to buy from them. We order everything we can through HomeDepot and we are big fans of Makita tools.

    great saw
Lightweight but sturdy. Easy to move around job site. No blade deflextion and accurate right out of box. Easy access to controls. Replaces makita 7 1/2 miter saw they don't make anymore that lasted only 3 years and they can't fix. Will see how this holds up

Sturdy, accurate , and some thinknig went into the design!
I wanted this saw to cut 12 inch wide boards and it has performed well. Even able to cut a 6x6 post (by turning). Accurate and well-placed and easy to read gages. Overall quality is good - its shy of excellent because of the plastic exhaust duct which is made of two halves which split when I put my vacuum hose in - have to keep it tight now with a clamp - will probably ask for a new exhaust piece. Its light-weight enough to carry around though a bit of an awkward shape. Blade that came with it ... read more is good quality and sharp. Cutting a tight angle from the vertical plane cut into the plastic kerf either side of the blade which is disappointing that Bosch engineers didn't design for that not to happen.

    Great saw
Bought this to replace an inherited Hitachi C8FB. The detente override is great when working with imperfect miter and butt joints. The depth control has a simple no-tool adjustment and can easily be flipped on and off. The bevel control is a lever that can be reached from the front of the saw, which makes it very easy and fast to set. Can be carried 1 handed with the top handle. The blade that comes with the saw should be replaced, it's not very good for finish work.

    Nice saw for the price
I bought my first miter saw from Lumber Liquidators when I had to put down some flooring in my condo after a flood in 2014. Compared to that, this is light years better. The positive locking table is like a miracle to me...the old one had no locks and the cast markings were nowhere close to accurate. When it came time to finish up my baseboards, I knew I needed something more precise but didn't want to break the budget. This fit the bill perfectly and I am very pleased with it. I like that the ... read more laser works off the AC power and not batteries. I did replace the blade right away with a 60 tooth Diablo since the bulk of my projects at this point is in finishings, but it was just as well as my table saw needed a new blade anyway, so it got the hand-me-down. This thing is pretty light compared to my old one, quieter, and just seems to cut so much better. Only cons I would say is the post for the hold-down clamp uses a vertical friction method to keep it in place that just doesn't work that great. Will likely McGyver it to use a pin or something. Also the slide action of the saw itself seems "dry" in a sense in that there are spots where it seems to stick a bit. It's not enough to be a problem and a spot of oil would probably take care of it.

Good for the price and what it can do
So far this saw has met the expectations I have for it. I needed a chop/miter saw and this has fit the bill. I used this to cut the base boards for my kitchen, cut lumber for a few furniture projects and built a saw stand on wheels with it. So far the only draw back is the lazer really isn't that accurate. That being said I normally don't use the lazer and instead use a stop- block for the cut lengths. You wont go wrong with this saw, just realize it's limitations. I would buy this saw again ... read more even with the lazer not being perfect.

Much better than one I bought 10+ years ago
The 90 deg as well as the miter dents were dead on right out of the box. You'll need to clamp or as I did drill holes and use T-nuts to secure to your bench. I made a simple top to extend the base. There is a mechanism to keep the blade from cutting through the new top. Before I ever used it, I loaned it to my neighbor to install 10 boxes of composite flooring. I had to change the blade to get a smooth cut. Over all a great purchase.

    Great saw for the money
I bought this saw on sale, and was a little nervous, not being real familiar with Wen. I do not regret it for a second. I needed a new saw like this, because I bought another house and gutted it to the studs, so I was starting from the ground up. I has not been disappointed in the least so far. I would highly recommend this saw for anyone looking to get something to use for around the house and the occasional wood working project.

    Decent, but sprays sawdust
My unit had a bit of a rough time during shipment, some of the Styrofoam in was encased in had given way but no major damage was done. Despite protective cardboard between the blade and the kerf plate the blade still come into contact with the plate resulting in a few small scratches, but nothing serious. Assembly is minimal - one really just has to learn how to unlock it from its ‘down’ position bring it up into the vertical position, and bolt it to a work surface. That work surface needs to ... read more be pretty large! You need a minimum of 35” front to back, and about 18” width. The miter table lock sticks out another 9” beyond the 35” of table needed. Keep in mind that you need space on either side for the wood you are cutting too. I built a simple bracket for it out of 2x4s and bolted the machine onto the that (see picture). Everything works well, the movement of the cut angles is nice and smooth and easy to change. There is a laser line included and the controls feel natural. The motor is mounted at an angle to allow full 45° cuts both left and right. The laser line starts about an inch from the fence. One issue is that a lot of the wood chips miss the dust collection system. I think this is because the design had to leave an opening for the laser to reach the wood and so a lot of the sawdust hits the laser cover and goes all over place. I removed the dust collecting bag and installed a shop-vac into the dust collector but material comes off the blade so fast it still does not all get collected even with the vacuum running.

    Good value
For the price, this miter saw has a lot of features. My old single bevel, non-sliding compound miter saw went through three home remodels. The power switch was worn out and the guids were out of alignment. I decided to give this saw a try. There are a lot more options. It is heavier and bigger, than the old one. I like the built in laser. The sliding action will make cutting longer pieces much easier. This unit is priced much lower than the name brand saws. Never having used one of those I ... read more can't compare the accuracy.
