    A nice compact miter saw
I like this unit because it's light weight (portable) and can cut most any piece of wood stock commonly encountered. Does a nice job cutting aluminum stock too.

great saw and helped save alot of gas $ and space
I sold my truck this year and can no longer transport my 12" compound slider...I looked everywhere for a more portable miter saw....there really is not much out there smaller than 10" with any kind of durability and accuracy (which is important with trim carpentry). I have cut 2x material, oak flooring and trim with this miter saw and works wonderfully. This saw has everything I was looking for...small, portable, accurate, easy to adjust, catches alot of the saw dust...only downside is are the ... read more 7.5" blades are hard to find....however the saw will accept 7.25" blades and the depth is easy to adjust. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS SAW!!

    Nice and Handy Saw
I was looking at the 12' Miter saw but opted for the portable powered one for doing mostly trim work. It is very light and easy to transport as well as accurate on miters. Well worth the price and $40.00 cheaper on line.

    Perfect for small job

    Nice handy little saw
I was looking for a small light weight saw to be close by as I laid HW flooring and did some trim work. This saw fit the bill perfectly. I would recommend buying a good quality blade and discarding the one that came with it. You battery will go much farther and get nice smooth cuts. Other than that it is a perfect light weight trim saw. The Ryobi 18v One Plus tool set is a #1 pick as far as price/performance goes for the home owner.

    Exactly what I wanted!
I was looking for a lightweight, easily carried, and quick to set up saw. I have a 12" dual bevel miter saw which I love - but it is heavy - a pain to move to upstairs rooms. This saw is great for moulding under 6" and for standard 90 and 45 degree cuts. The scale is very small and precise cuts at other angles are a bit of a challenge. Laser is consistently accurate, it has a comfortable grip and trigger. Cordless is a great convenience!! I'm a fan and own much of the Ryobi Lithium 18V line.

    Better than expected
I picked this saw up to cut used fence pickets for building stage props. I didn't expect much more than that, and would have been happy if that is all it could do. IT struggled cutting through 2x4s, but if you didn't force it, it would make the cut. I recently found a new respect for the saw though, when I realized that I was using the included blade and thought to myself it probably could stand an upgrade. I installed a 7-1/4" Diablo Demo Demon blade and this saw sprang to life! WOW! It will ... read more rip through 2x4s now, and the cuts are much cleaner. I haven't had it stall out once since changing the blade. If you pick up this saw, go ahead and grab the Demo Demon to go with it. You won't be sorry!

Much better than one I bought 10+ years ago
The 90 deg as well as the miter dents were dead on right out of the box. You'll need to clamp or as I did drill holes and use T-nuts to secure to your bench. I made a simple top to extend the base. There is a mechanism to keep the blade from cutting through the new top. Before I ever used it, I loaned it to my neighbor to install 10 boxes of composite flooring. I had to change the blade to get a smooth cut. Over all a great purchase.

Best 10 inch slider I've owned
I've owned Delta 12", and Kobalt 10", the Kobalt was the worst, but this Ryobi's simplicity is great. Light weight and square out of the box. I'd like it if the laser was a more adjustable. Dust collection isn't great but neither is any od the other saws dust collection. I removed the side extenders because they don't slide in and out, the table supports make up for that. I haven't tried to cut crown moulding with it yet, but I have a Kreg Jig for that. I did upgrade to a Freud Fusion 10" 60 ... read more tooth blade made for sliders and it cuts great $76. For the money and you buy the miter saw table with it, you cant go wrong.

    Great Value
We use all our tools for small DIY projects around the house. That being said this is a fantastic purchase. It is easy to use, affordable, and works very well. I can't comment on how well it would hold up for the professional contractor with that kind of use, but it suits out needs perfectly. We purchased on sale and our first project was new crown moulding on our kitchen cabinets. We used the blade it came with and didn't have any issues with rough cuts, but I would recommend purchasing a finer ... read more tooth blade for any finishing projects, depending on the materials you plan to use. I will echo the comments of other users re: the laser- it doesn't quite line up, so don't plan to use it as your guide for those precision cuts!

    Good for the price
I got this miter saw to add to my tool inventory for fast small cuts of 2x2 and 2x4 and 4x4's. Saw feels solid and cuts good but stalled on one cut Laser guide does work but not in sun light It's quieter then some other in its class and enjoyed using to to cut 4x4 posts to redesign a soil and and mulch sifter it's also lite and folds down and easy storage

    Killer saw, great performance..
Assembly was very easy with minor improvements to the manual. Hardwood or softwood, this saw cuts it like butter!

    Hi powered, Hi Quality!
The 15 Amp 10 in. Compound Miter Saw with Laser Guidance System is everything I expected it to be and more. I have used it to cut 2 x 6 boards with ease and to cut perfectly mitered wood trim baseboard corners. The high speed blade cut through both types of wood with equal ease. The saw came out of the box requiring very little assembly. It was ready to use in 15 minutes.

    Great saw for the money
I bought this saw on sale, and was a little nervous, not being real familiar with Wen. I do not regret it for a second. I needed a new saw like this, because I bought another house and gutted it to the studs, so I was starting from the ground up. I has not been disappointed in the least so far. I would highly recommend this saw for anyone looking to get something to use for around the house and the occasional wood working project.

    Good for a home shop
The WEN 15-Amp 10 in. Dual Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw is the first miter saw I've ever owned, so using it was an experiment and an adventure led by the trusty instruction manual. Most of the instructions made sense, but, of all things, I had trouble getting the saw to unlock from the position in which it shipped. Eventually, I figured out that the release knob wasn't supposed to be unscrewed to release the cutting head, but, rather, was supposed to be pulled straight out - it would've been ... read more nice for the instructions to be explicit in describing this. There are a number of knobs, locks, buttons, and levers that need to be adjusted before the saw can be used, which means there's a lot to remember to properly use this saw. Then again, given that the saw can do straight cuts, miter cuts, bevel cuts, and compound miter cuts, it makes sense that there would need to be lots of settings to adjust. The saw cut well—the engine seems powerful enough to handle the jobs I'll use it for—but the carbide-tipped general purpose blade that came with the saw makes really rough cuts. If you want your cuts to be nice (to cut trim, for example), go buy a good finishing blade; if you're just cutting the wood that'll go behind the trim, the included blade will do the trick. At 49.5 pounds, this saw is quite bulky; therefore, I recommend using this saw bolted to a workbench at home or in a shop rather than as a portable job site saw. As though this is an anticipated conclusion, the saw comes with mounting holes drilled in the base. If you do mount it at home or in a shop, though, remember to leave enough space behind the saw for the blade to slide fully back on the sliding mechanism. Given that the saw is already quite large, leaving even more space behind it means that you'll be committing a big chunk of your work space to this saw, so be prepared for that. By following the directions in the instruction manual, I was able to adjust the bevel and miter angles quite easily. I was pleased to discover that the miter adjuster clicks at common angles (0°, 15°, 22.5°, 31.6°, and 45°), and the bevel adjuster has a 0° bevel adjuster, so you can quickly and easily set your most common cutting angles. The laser didn't work for me once or twice, but I'm not sure if that's because I wasn't depressing the laser on/off switch hard enough or whether it was malfunctioning. When it did work, though, the laser made lining up my cuts really easy.

    Decent, but sprays sawdust
My unit had a bit of a rough time during shipment, some of the Styrofoam in was encased in had given way but no major damage was done. Despite protective cardboard between the blade and the kerf plate the blade still come into contact with the plate resulting in a few small scratches, but nothing serious. Assembly is minimal - one really just has to learn how to unlock it from its ‘down’ position bring it up into the vertical position, and bolt it to a work surface. That work surface needs to ... read more be pretty large! You need a minimum of 35” front to back, and about 18” width. The miter table lock sticks out another 9” beyond the 35” of table needed. Keep in mind that you need space on either side for the wood you are cutting too. I built a simple bracket for it out of 2x4s and bolted the machine onto the that (see picture). Everything works well, the movement of the cut angles is nice and smooth and easy to change. There is a laser line included and the controls feel natural. The motor is mounted at an angle to allow full 45° cuts both left and right. The laser line starts about an inch from the fence. One issue is that a lot of the wood chips miss the dust collection system. I think this is because the design had to leave an opening for the laser to reach the wood and so a lot of the sawdust hits the laser cover and goes all over place. I removed the dust collecting bag and installed a shop-vac into the dust collector but material comes off the blade so fast it still does not all get collected even with the vacuum running.

    Excellent purchase at great price
I purchased this because my husband left his other on the basement floor and iit was ruined from the dampness. I picked Ryobi because he has all the other toys offered and loves them. He was extremly happy with the product and was impressed with the laser light. The price was excellent. I am recommending this based on his review of it which I heard several times.

Upgrade from a 10 inch Ridgid
This is my first 12 slider and I'm very satisfied with purchase. I'm upgrading from a 10 inch Ridgid compound miter and what a big improvement this is. If you are able get this saw at the sale price of $25x.xx this is a great bargain. I can't understand those reviewers who complain of the lack of features available on more costly Dewalt saws, if you really want or need those features then go ahead and spend extra $$. For me this saw meets my needs.

    Very nice saw
Excellent saw. Really heavy and no carry handle on the top, poorly balanced for carrying. Hard to maneuver through doors. But, it works wonderfully. The weight is actually a positive when you are using it, and the carrying balance is irrelevant in use. This saw is just made to go on a folding saw stand with wheels, which make it just about perfect, or put it where it's going to stay (in a shop). Only usage issue shortcoming: it does not have a depth stop which means you can't cut grooves ... read more across a board instead of cutting all the way through. There is a flange which was obviously intended for such (drill and thread for a stop screw) and this is implemented on the more expensive version of the saw... but for the price, I can dispense with that feature.

Great saw for the money! Purchased over Christmas 2015 for 329.00
This is a great saw for the money. On sale 329.00 over Christmas. First one had a crack in the base so had to return, good news was HD exchanged it out no issues. Remember give all your tools a good once over before using them. Cuts great, and plenty of power.
